Jun 30, 2014I am a Mac user under the latest software.
We are using via the google cloud word documents that we can share with PC users.
I marked on my mac in the cloud the tags to different documents. I see them visible next to the file once in a time in the color that i used. If i look under icon tags on my toolbar i see the color label active.
All my other users work on windows, and they do not see my tags. Is there a way we can make that happens for everybody and that the tags stays next to the document file.

May 29, 2012Losing iDisk really stinks. What, exactly, are we paying for with the "cloud"? The iDisk was the only thing I really used except for e-mail, which is available free. Anyway, enough griping. Is there a way to move the contents of iDisk directly to the "documents in the cloud" feature?

Apr 3, 2010I have a MBP and a Time Capsule, but I also am considering an online backup service (in case of theft).
I would look at Mobile Me but I have circa 50GB of photo's and video's to back up and so there is not enough space.
I have had a look at IDrive which gives 150GB for $5 a month however i'm not sure whether it would affect Time Capsule as it also appears to back up files that have changed.

Aug 31, 2014If I don't want to restore content from my backup with old Apple IDs (wife's old deactivated account, brother's account, etc), how do I remove that content from a backup? I skip in the restore process, but that doesn't seem to remove anything. I'm assuming the content/media from the other accounts isn't loaded.
I guess I'm looking to create a fresh backup with only the iTunes items associated with my account. I can't find a way to identify what media is from these other accounts in iTunes, so I keep getting this issue when I restore from a backup.

Jan 28, 2009The thing is, that the machine is turned off on the images.
Before shooting the attached images I had just cleaned the screen using a damp cloth and afterwards wiped it with a dry microfiber cloth. Just to make sure it wasn't dust or fingermarks.
I also tried to see if it was just shadows from lamps in the room, but it wasnt.
The areas shown on the images only appears when turned off. Now when sitting in front af the machine they are not visible.
what it is, how to remove them, or know if this is a consideren an error worthy of a return.

OS X :: Cannot Restore My Documents Folders From Time Machine Backup
Sep 2, 2009Did a fresh install of SL on my iMac. So far, so good.
Go to my Documents folder, enter time machine, choose the files in my Documents folder and click restore. Exits out back to my desktop, enter my password and it starts to copy over the files. But then suddenly stops. And only copies over a small number of files and empty folders. When trying to restore just the files in some of the folders I get an error that says I don't have permission to access these files. Don't have permission? Says who and why?
So I go in via finder to the backup, select all the files in my Documents, and manually drag them over to my Documents folder. Same thing happens.
The files are a couple hundred mb. But can't figure out why they don't all copy over. Weird thing is I didn't have this problem with files from other locations like restoring my iPhoto library.

I have attempted to do the export to another file method, then burn to DVD, but whenever I try the export, I get a list of 20 video files that were not exported. This is the only method I have been able to find that is supposed to work for getting movies out of iphoto and onto a disc.

Dec 11, 2014I am unable to move files from a 250 GB backup hard drive to a 1.0 TB b/c I keep getting the warning that isn’t enough space. Get Info says that 999.72 GB on it are in use. But the 1.0 TB was almost empty. If I add up the space of each of the 3 or 4 items on it, I get less than 20GB. What’s taking up the other 979 GB?For background, I now have iMac backed up with LaCie 2Big NAS system. The 250 GB is primarily to hold iPhoto Library and backup copies of original photos. the 250 GB is full. So I am trying to switch over from 250 to the 1.0 TB for photos. Moved a few smaller files over, but then could move no more. Thought of running disk utility to erase the 1.0 TB, but now I can’t move the few files on it back to 250 GB, but of error message that it too is full.I did run Repair Disk on 1.0TB before started trying to move files.

Jun 5, 2014I've recently starting having problems with my external HD that I use for my Time Machine backups. I'm not able to repair the drive using Disk Elements, so I want to copy some of my backups stored therein onto my Mac HD before I try reformatting the external HD. However, I get the error message "The volume has the wrong case sensitivity for a backup" when I try dragging the backup folders onto my desktop. Is there any way to salvage the backups before I try reformatting?

Problem is I deleted some photos from my hard drive to free up space, thinking I could access them from my backup drive if I needed to. However, when I try to get the photos through my TimeMchine backup drive, it won't let me, saying it's not the original library. How do I access my old backed up photos?

Dec 6, 2014After some problems with Time Machine backup, I removed a bunch of stuff from my internal hard drive, reformatted my external HD used for backups, and started a new full backup. Time Machine has been running for about 24 hours and gives me a status of Backing up: xx GB of yy GB. Both xx and yy keep growing (apace) so that I don't believe xx will ever equal yy.
To cryptic? Here are real numbers. My internal disk being backed up contains 469.39 GB. Backup status now says Backing up: 685.78GB of 754.42 GB. Both numbers just keep growing. I'm happy to let Time Machine overnight (again) but, really, this can't be normal.

Aug 29, 2014iMAC with OSX10.9.4 ; 8GB ram ; two partitions external disk formatted MAC jurnaled ; connected via Fire Wire or USB2 .
During Backup the sistem get stack and display into the "details window" Time machine was unable to complete the backup because unable to complete the backup folder.
This problem happens with USB and Fire Wire. The file backups.backupdb is excluded from virus scanning.
Also happens time to time that (without doing things) both the partitions of the external disk disappaire from the desk-top and a message "the disk must be ejected properly" is displayed.
This two problems are independent une to the other. I have change the backup disk but both the problems persist.
