I try to quit iPhoto and the massage keep saying "Photos are being imported to the photo library" even there is no iPhone or iPad connected. The problem still remind for 3 days and cannot force quit or any option to close the program.Â
Each time I launch the iPhoto application it gives me the alert "23 photos have been found in the photo library. That was not imported". My photo events reside on the external drive which I imported from a portable drive. For each recovery it creates a recovered photos folder but it is always blank.
My iMac 27inch, Mid 2010 2.93 ghz i7 running Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3, doesn't shut down or restart properly. Once I choose the option in apple menu it goes into white screen with a wheel spinning, it freezes there. The only to proceed is by manually holding the power button. Checked and repaired all disk permissions in standard and recovery mode, reset PRAM and SMC, did couple of cleaning procedures of cache and relative, did a whole virus running procedure. Cant figure out what has happened. It happens after I operate computer after turning it on, but it does shutdown and restart if its done straight away after turning it on without opening anything. I tried to monitor maybe it some software that makes act like that, but didn't find a link.

I often have an issue where my iMac won't shut down, restart or logout users. Basically, when I click Shut Down or Restart, the desktop icons disappear as if the computer's getting ready to shut down (the desktop wallpaper remains) and it just sits there and won't shut down. I have to hold down the power button on the back of the computer in order to get the computer to shut off. This often happens when I try to logout a user. I'd say this happens about 2/3 to 3/4 of my attempts to shut down or logout a user.
I downloaded Mac OS X 10.5.7 from the Apple website rather than using Software Update only to save time. I used Software Update to get 10.5.7 on my MacBook Pro and it took 35 minutes to download the package. Using the Apple website for my iMac, the download took about 15 minutes.
I then began the installation of 10.5.7 on the iMac. Everything went fine until it was time to restart. The computer froze on restart. I had to hold down the power button to turn off the iMac. Then I started it up and it began to load for quite a while (normal after an update). Then I logged in and went to "About This Mac" and it read that I had Mac OS X 10.5.7.
Obviously, this is an unorthodox way of updating. But am I safe with this method? Was it just a minor glitch?
I have an iMac running 10.7.3 that will not shut down or restart using the apple menu. The only way to get this machine to shut down is to hold down the on/off button on the back of the computer. This has been a problem for quite some time and may have started with Lion, but I’m not sure. .
While working on my iMac, it suddenly went off. No warning at all. I've tried all the basic stuff and nothing happens. Holding the power button in and I don't hear the normal sounds. Thought it might have overheated but after it's cooled down, still nothing.
My imac will not shut off/restart or let me download the new updates because it says I have to quit the TextEdit first, but it will not let quit it. When I open up the TextEdit the Quit option is in a faded black/Grey color and does not do anything when I click on it.
I recently attempted to upload photos to my photobiz site with no success. I tried the steps on the photobiz site but they did ont work. I can not scroll down to read thefags page when on the site either. I had to use my pc to open the site and work. I have also opened a trouble ticket on the site to see if they could offer any assistance.
I recently imported a full library of pictures into iPhoto.....most of them came across without any problems, but I have about 20 pictures that are green, i mean really green. I check the original file and opened it with lightroom and photoshop and the pictures load normal, I searched and found the iphoto copy and opened it with LR and PS and it opened normal. When I open iphoto and try to do anything with those pictures, they display green in other apps like when I drag and drop them on iweb. Does anyone else have this problem?. its happened on two different iMacs...same library and mostly the same pictures, I have a c2d mac and it did the same things but on that imac it was more like 150 pics that were green, on the new i7 imac its like 20.
Does anyone know if iPhoto can automatically create groups when, oh, say 13,000 photos have just been imported? I didn't use iPhoto 08. But I have 13000 photos, and I just imported them into iPhoto 09. Does anyone know if there's a way to batch split the photos into events based on the date taken?
I just noticed this new the other day when I import pictures from my canon a650 camera iphoto opens up as usual opens the pictures on the camera but all the pictures are fuzzy, like the are slightly pixelated. Once downloaded they look fine. I have checked every preference setting I could and cant figure it out? I am using Iphoto 08 7.1.5
Just imported a few images, and I don't know where they are located on the computer. I would like to know where they are so I can drag them into my photo folder.
Also, my phone camera supports geo-tagging. I have a bunch of pictures I took with geotagging on, and it works fine on the phone. On iPhotos though, only a very little portion of these pictures appear in the "Places" section. If I find a picture in iPhoto and hit the info button and hit location, it doesn't show up on the map, even though it works just fine on my phone (C905). Why doesn't it work properly?
When I import songs from a CD, the songs are not appearing under Music in iTunes.
The track info is properly displayed for the mounted CD itself and the songs are correctly imported (green checkboxes appear, the MP3 files are placed in the correct folder under "Music/iTunes/iTunes Music", and the MP3 files are playable in Quicktime).

I successfully imported a few hundred classical CDs in the iTunes library of my brand new Mac Mini. In spite of having attempted everything mentioned in the help files, I was unable to get any artwork to match.
Today I've imported some CD's in iTunes. The importing process worked fine, but.... I cannot see the tracks in my music library! I have a smart playlist where I can see the most recent imported music and when I browse that playlist I see the tracks that are not shown in the music library! When i get info on one of these tracks all the details are correct (it's saved in my "iTunes library" folder etc.) Â
have a new Mac and imported the iTuns library by replacing the iTunes library icon on my new Mac in Music and i now have the imported iTunes master library and an empty iTunes icon. I delete it but it comes back. Is there a way that it should be imported differently? Want to get rid of the duplicate icon but comes back.
For no reason my photo booth comes up with a camera with a line through it (Like no smoking signs) and the button won't work to take photos. I have run utilities and closed all other software but it still won't respond?

I'm using iTunes 10.6 and Lion. i have a two problems. i recently moved my iTunes library to my portable hard drive. i have changed the new location under Preference/Advanced to "/portable drive/MUSIC". I have checked 'Keep iTunes Media folder organized" and unchecked 'Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to library. 1) After moving my music and and consolidating, some of my music are in the right folder, which is in "/portable drive/MUSIC" folder, but a majority of the music are created into a NEW SUBFOLDER music folder. e.g.: /portable drive/MUSIC/music/ ?? Why is that happen and how can I move tell iTunes to just put it in the main and 1st MUSIC folder. Do you know why it creates a subfolder name music? 2) When importing new music, it doesn't automatically go into the designated folder but instead retains in the original folder that was imported from? e.g.: i import music from mac hard drive into iTunes and when I click on Get Info on the track, the location is still at /my mac hard drive/duran duran instead of /portable drive/MUSIC/.  How do I get it to organized the music into /portable drive/MUSIC/

My early 08 MBP has seemed to have lost the ability to do the above 3 functions. Pressing the power button does not bring up the shut down/restart/sleep menu and going through the menu bar and clicking "shut down" does nothing either. Pressing cmd + shift + Q does nothing when it used to bring up the log out option. It's only been like this the past few days, I noticed when I was prompted to reboot for the SMC update but OSX did nothing after I clicked the reboot button. The only way to shut down or reboot is to perform a forced shut down.
I've repaired disk permissions, repaired the disk, reset the SMC and the PRAM but nothing has worked.
I have an Intel Imac G5 2.66 gHz 2 core duo running 10.6.3. I am unable to get it shut down or sleep. Choosing either results in the display blacking out, the fans run for about 1 second and then everything come back on as if nothing has happened. I've reset the Pram and Vram, disconnected all USB and Firewire devices, tried it with and without file sharing and Airport operating. A 'hard' shutdown with the power button works fine. I have checked for any firmware updates but mine is fine. This happened once before and clearing out some files from deleted apps cured the problem but it's back now.
Finder is refusing to let me shut down my macbook.Â
I have tried multiple ways to try and get my mac book pro to shut down, but every time finder pops up and tells me that "there are operations still running, quit them and then try again" something along those lines. I've tried to end processes in the activity moniter, I've done the command + option + escape and the window pops up and shows there is nothing running. I've also tried to hold down the power button for 7 seconds and it still says I am unable to shut down my computer because there are processes still running.
I really don't want my computer battery fried by having it on all day, every day. Â
