We have always used our mobile me gallery to share photos with friends and family. Since Apple is moving towards using iCloud how do I share photos going forward? i.e. a specefic trip to certain people?
I have all my photos on my iMac in UK, but have just bought a Macbook Air for use while I am in France. So different networks! Is it possible to transfer my photos from y Mac to my Air, and if so, how?
I am trying to share photos between user accounts through iPhoto. The problem is that when my photos are brought up on my girlfriends account they are at a very low resolution to what the file actually is. It's like taking a DSLR photo and making it camera phone quality. How can I improve this? can it be done or does iphoto lower the resolution to get a fast transfer time?
With [url]... I could invite friends/family to view pictures/video uploaded to my Mobile.me account. Now that the latter has been replaced with iCloud, I don't appear to have this valuable feature, I don't even see the iPhoto icon when I log into my [url]... account from Safari.
I have heard that .mac and mobileme were supposed to be some unworkable system. But so far iCloud seems to be a practical joke, or a way around dropping the service entirely. There appears to be no way to create a document using the applications in iWork, on a Mac, and "share" them using the "Cloud", except for "iWork", which Apple is killing this summer. On an iPad, though, the only documents that can be accessed are copies from iTunes, iDisk (which I think dies this summer too) and webDav? So already, the supposed way of seamlessly syncing my documents depends on separate and apparently conflicting methods. Yet, all of Apple's literature would have me believe that all these apps are compatible, and use, this vaporware called "iCloud".
I would really prefer Apple saying they can't make it work.I can start using Microsoft Office 11 and set up something that approximates a webDav, but then will apple kill that on the iPads? This is starting to look like a worse mess than it was before. If you can edit a photograph, how much harder can it be to edit text?
On mobile me/idisk I would upload the file to one of the folders (usually Public) the just click the share tab and enter the relevant address. Is idisk not part of the icloud way of doing things? If not how do i upload?
My wife and I both have our own Apple ID's but would like to share one calendar in iCal in the iCloud so we can add events on our iPhones and we both can see them?
My wife & I share a Mac and each have our own profiles. We want to be able to share our iCal but we don't want to share bookmarks in Safari. If I correctly understand how iClowd works, we could use different Apple IDs and our bookmarks wouldn't share but we could't share calendars with this set up. If we use a shared Apple ID, we can share calendars but are bookmarks are also shared. Is there some way to share calendars but not bookmarks?
Info: MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.1), iPad 2 and iPhone 3GS
Now that mobile me is no more, can I use icloud as an FTP site to share large photoshop files with other users (half a world away). Everything was fine for me under MobileMe. Now I'm just confused and feel really let down by Apple's discontinuation of iWeb.
My family has several macs with different users. We all have the same contacts and calendars so everyon just logs into the same icloud account. But we would like to be able to use the beta messages and for that matter mail without everyone seeing eachothers mail and messages. Is it possible to set that up using iCloud?
Sometimes I am unable to share my photos in iPhoto 9.2.1 as the options are darkened with "No network connection" above. But I am connected, I can browse webpages and send/receive email.
My family has a macbook pro with all our music on it and a few iphones 4s's. We all want to have the same music but we all have seperate apple accounts. Is it possible to share an account for just music?
I am getting a new iphone for my wife and am unsure whether to create a second icloud account or stay with one. I know that we can use the same iTunes ID for apps and music, so no issues there. But I also want our phone calendars to sync with our Mac (already connected to my phone via icloud). My preference is to have two icloud accounts with linked calendars so we can each have 5gb of free storage. Is that doable with shared calendars on the phones and the Mac?
If we must be on the same account, how to separate out our mail and contacts? We are not using the @me account for mail, so my guess is if we use a separate email account in respective phones, our mail won't get mixed up. Is that correct? We already have multiple groups in our address books. Can we select multiple groups to sync one phone and others to the others? Also, can we access shared notes?
The iWork Public Beta allowed me to share Keynote presentations with anyone via the web. Now Apple tells me the Public Beta is being replaced by iCloud. How can I share a Keynote presentation online via iCloud? Must the presentation be downloaded to view?
Can I upload .sit files to share with people like I did using the "Public" folder of MobileMe? Also can the uploaded files be password-protected? I bascially need the same functionality of the Public folder in MobileMe.
I have a mini and 5 other devices on the same apple ID. All of my existing photos made it to the photo stream when I originally signed up for icloud. Now, when we upload new photos from our camera onto our mini, they won't go to the cloud. I can't find the icloud icon anywhere on my mini anymore.
Info:Mac mini, Mac OS X (10.6.8), I have a free agent terra byte HD
