ICloud :: Share An Apple Account Between Multiple Devices Just For Music?
Mar 19, 2012
My family has a macbook pro with all our music on it and a few iphones 4s's. We all want to have the same music but we all have seperate apple accounts. Is it possible to share an account for just music?

I have one apple ID and one Icloud account per the apple support pages [URL]. I also have match because that is the only way I can get my songs loaded from my cd's on the cloud. My two computer which are up to date with Snow leopard match each other. My IPad and IPhone both have songs that are not on my computers. I only download songs from my ipad and main computer. I consider myself a self proclaim computer geek and am a recording engineer. Any solution to keeping the content from the same account the same.

My partner and I both have iPhones and iPads but share an iMac, as our contacts and calendars go through iCloud, both gets merged when it comes into iCal and contacts. Do we have to set up separate accounts on the iMac to handle this correctly?

Is it possible to play music from multiple libraries over a single device, with control over the playlist possible from multiple devices/computers? Baiscally, in one of my smaller offices, everyone has a Mac or PC with iTunes, along with various iPads, iPhones etc etc. They randomly pick some tunes to play from each of their individual machines.
I would like to setup a system where there is a single device (Mac/PC/Airplay/Apple TV etc) with decent speakers, where anyone can submit a track(s) to play from their library, be it on their Mac, iPad iPhone etc. to stream through the central system.I would then imagine using the Remote app to control it.
They should all be able to submit tracks simultanously, rather that one device connecting with a Airplay at a time. This would also work in a party senario. Guest rock up, pair their device with the system, and they can all submit track(s) from their device and it goes into the playlist...

I have two desktop macs, a macbook air, two iPads, and two iPhones. I have one Apple account that I use for all music - including music my college aged kids download. My problem is that I would like to get all the music into one library, delete the duplicates, then have the external drive store all the music. Is there a practical way to do this? This way I can set up my devices so that they all have the same music and playlists.Â

So... I used to use MobileMe, and now we have iCloud. :| Grrr.Â
I switched back to Mac Mail after using Gmail for a while... but I have like 10 email accounts, all their own IMAP setups. I just added them all to my desktop Mac last night.Â
I'd like them (and all mail rules, etc) to also show up on my iPhone and my iPad and my Mac Air. This used to be doable with MobileMe.
Is there any way to do this now? Best I can tell, unless I'm missing something, iCloud only syncs the iCloud mail account itself.Â

May be a very simple question to answer, but can I manage multiple iOS devices on different Apple accounts from the same iMac?Â
I ask as whilst I'm totally Mac'd, my partner who has her own Apple account has a Winows laptop and experiences problems updating iOS software on her iPhone 4S and iPad 3 Gen via the laptop. I'm thinking the problems may be overcome if we manage her iOS devices through my iMac.

I bought an imac 24" 4 months ago and set up individual access accounts on the mac for me and my daughters. I then set up an itunes account for each and I started to pay into their accounts for them to purchase some music and all was fine after syncing each nano with their access account and itunes account.
However, it quickly became apparent that they could not share their music between account even though they are on the same computer. I have tried various searches but to be honest some of the methods suggested I just dont understand hence my appearance here.
Can I now save the music they have purchased etc and take it all to one account and then sync them again with the one itunes account or would i be better to keep the different accounts and change the set-up so that they can see and sync with each others music.

I recently logged into [URL] to change my Apple ID. Everything worked fine and I was able to change and sync everything on my iPhone and iPad, except for my iMac. When I enter the Users & Groups section to change the Apple ID associated with my Admin account, it only allows me to add additional Apple IDs and delete those, but not the original Apple ID. I've tried double clicking on the original Apple ID and change it there, but it only creates a different Apple ID when I click done. Now I have multiple Apple IDs and I only want to see one.

I work in an office that is all mac based and have mac computers at home. I have an apple ID and iTunes account for personal use where I purchase books and music and I have an office apple ID and iTunes account to share calendars with colleagues using iCloud and purchase work related apps like upgrades to operating systems, etc.
I have an iPhone that is set up with my personal apple ID so that my music is on my phone and so that the photo streaming is attached to personal photos, etc. Is there a way to sync my personal contacts with my contacts that are registered with my professional apple ID? Ideally, I would like to have my iOS devices syncing my calendar and contacts with my work apple ID and my music and photos with my personal ID.

I'm trying to find the easiest solution to our family music situation. 4 users, 4 devices (ipods, ipad, imac, pc laptops), and 4 different musical song interests. I'm sure there are millions of households that have the same exact situation. I want to be able to pull up only my musical library, not my kid's music, and then easily synch it to my ipod. Everyone in the family wants to do this same thing. I have spent alot of time trying to search the forums/internet and there does not seem to be one "most popular" solution. I did setup iCloud for each family member using a different Apple ID than my main Apple ID, and I'm happy that ALL the music shows up on my ipad. But between iCloud, MobileMe, Home Sharing it all gets very confusing. Some say to setup multiple computer login accounts, and others say to setup 1 playlist for each family member and synch from that playlist. Â
I would think 1 itunes account allows you to easily share a purchased song with 4 users, instead of buying songs twice.Â
So here are a few of my questions-
1-Is it best to have only 1 itunes account and then synch all devices off of 1 main computer? Â
2-Or since we each have iCloud accounts, will they be able to synch their ipods from their own pc laptop?Â
3-And when they synch, what is the easiest way to exclude other users music in itunes? (other than unchecking hundreds of artists)Â
4-Or setup 4 separate computer login accounts on the imac and then keep 1 itunes account? If so, how does this work when they open itunes? Â

I have a Mac that my wife and I share. We own and iShuffle, iPod, iTouch and two iPhones. My wife's iPhone is her own and my iPhone is through work. We only have one Apple ID and we share our iTunes. What do I need to do to make all devices work together on iTunes with relative ease? Do I need to create multiple Apple IDs? Can we link them together so we don't have to log in and out of iTunes, yet keep it so that what she does with apps / music on her phone doesn't effect what apps / music I move on my phone?Â

we set up OUR Apple account using my then wife's (now ex-wife's) e-mail address and created OUR apple ID account under her name. Fast forward eight years, it has now been two years since my divorce and I have tons of music that was purchased using my ex-wife's Apple account. During the last two years, playing the music that was purchased with her account has not been an issue. I select my music that I want to listen to, hit play and it played. But ever since the latest update from iTunes, I now have a HUGE issue. The latest update requires computers to now be "authorized" to play purchased music and any purchased music must now be verified by the account ID and password used to purchase the music. This has created a catastrophe because my ex-wife has now of course changed her Apple ID password which means I no longer have access to about $1000 worth of music because of this new authorization! This has made me livid to say the least because this seems to be an arbitrary and completely random bull crap requirement from Apple. I have tried to resolve this through Apple support but since it is now nearly impossible to speak to a human at Apple, the email method of communication has yielded diddly squat. I doubt this "forum method" will be any more productive but I have to try. I have begun a social media campaign against Apple's methods of burying random and arbitrary requirements deep within their regular software updates. I've already paid for the music once. I won't pay for it again.

I don't know why but a recently I've been asked to enter my icloud password related to my iCloud e-Mail address. stupidly, I've forgot what my password is. is there a chance to reset it somehow?Â
To explain the situation a bit better and what I've tried already, here a short discription of the situation:Â
- I do have a appleID that is called firstname.lastname@gmail.com the related password is appleID_Password1.
with this combination I also conduct my purchases in iTunes and the AppStore. But to rule this possibility already out: It doesn't let me access my iCloud eMail account in Apple Mail. Funny enough, though, when visiting iCloud.com this is the combination with which I log onto iCloud incl it's mail service within the web browser.Â
- the iCloud eMail address for whose password I am looking is called something like abcde@me.com. I have implemented it into my Apple Mail program running on Mac OS X Lion. Since setting up the account i've never ever been asked to enter my password. But now, out of a sudden, I was. And, of course, I couldn't remember it anymore. Hence, I don't receive any eMails sent to abcde@me.com anymore on my mac.Â
Can somebody tell me how to fix it, if it is not the password for my appleID??
