What a disaster this service is. I'm going to drop it. I've wasted countless hours with iCloud problem. And the annoying music you have to listen to when on hold! I guess that's to make you hang up
View 1 Replies View RelatedSince upgrading to os x v 10.7.3 and moving from mobileme to iCloud as instructed, I am unable to send emails from an Imac connected to an older imac operating on osx 10.4 via wi-fi. Emails form this older box are succesful.
On my newer imac with osxv10.7.3, The email stays in outbox and sent folders with the spinner spinning next to the sent folder. It displays mail activity and outgoing messages...but does not change its staus.I am unable still here 1 hour later waiting for it to go.I have tried instructions from websiteConnection doctor - all green lights

I can send email at work, but am having trouble sending messages from home. This is a new problem- I have been sending emails from my home account for years. This is the message that comes up in the window of the message I am trying to send:
"The server mail.vaxxine.com refused to allow a connection on the default ports."
All my messages have disappeared and I can't send email, when I click the not connected sign it says..... UNABLE TO CONNECT
There may be a problem with the mail server or network. Verify the settings for account “iCloud” or try again.
The server returned the error: The server “p06-imap.mail.me.com” cannot be contacted on port 993.
tried connecting and reconnecting to iCloud, everything OK when I use ICloud mail through a web browser, just can't figure it out.
Except my server is p06-imap.mail.me.com - rather than imap.mail.me.com - but can't seem to edit this - done all the obvious things...

I have set up a POP email account to forward mail from my domain. I get emails fine, but can't send them. I have the correct Smtp address which my isp (virgin media) gave me. I don't really understand the ports. Is there something obvious that I am missing here?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have two email addresses set up with Mail. But I want one of them to be the default email address when I compose a new message. I often forget to change the email address and end up sending with an email address I didn't want to use.
Mail 2.0 has this, but I can't seem to find it anywhere in Mail 3.0?
In my Mail app I currently have two email accounts set up. One is my main email and one is my college email. I only use the college email account because my school sends all of their stuff through it so I need to monitor it. For some reason however, this account has become the default account that Mail wants to send through. To use the other account I have to click the drop down menu under the subject field. This happens even though my main account is the top account on that drop down menu. I have looked through all the preferences and cannot see where I can choose a default sending account.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMail is making me mad I'm sure about all settings like SMTP, and other details are right. There is no problem to get email, but when I try to send it keeps asking password! and not sending! Can it be something about security settings or anything else? I'm pretty new at mac, I dont know many details.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm having such a hard time syncing Gmail with Apple Mail now that I've done a fresh install of SL. First of all, in Gmail Settings, the instructions for setting up Apple Mail are for Apple Mail 3.0. But the Apple Mail with SL is 4.0. The instructions say to "Check the box next to Automatically set up your account." Pic of what I'm talking about: But my Apple Mail does not have that check box: Once it's setup it says it's supposed to look like this: Notice that it's POP and not IMAP? And in mine, once it's "automatically setup" it's IMAP and not POP: When I leave the settings as is, and try to send and receive mail I keep getting an error that says something like "Can't send mail on outgoing mail server". And when I change the outgoing server to POP I get the same error. I've tried everything, I've setup and deleted this e-mail account from Apple Mail at least 4 times now and I keep getting the same error.

Any hints before I throw my Macbook onto oncoming traffic (which is also running majorly slow since the last update). I have been sitting here for about 30 mins waiting to send an email.

using certificates to send encrypted emails from the Mail app. However, it's outdated and no longer supported by Apple. Do you guys know if 10.7.3 works the same way? Basically, I want to use a secure certificate to encrypt my outgoing email messages. I'm running 10.7.3.

Up until today my MAIL app in my iMac let me use an email address that is from the AOL.com group (netscape.net)…I cannot send emails now because I can't get the computer to connect to the server. My iPad will….but not the desktop. I tried using a different server name; smtp.nestcape.net, which is the one I used in the iPad…but the iMac won't let me change it to that one..so back to the old smtp.aol.com……Still my MAIL app is not recognizing this or letting me connect!?!. I tried creating a new password at the wedpage of that email account.. successfully..but it has made no difference. I am stumped and have wasted half the day trying to deal with this.

I cannot send mail from my iMac today even though I was able to do it yesterday. I am on Mountain Lion. The Connection Doctor says that one of the SMTP servers of all those I have used in the past is connected. (The "light" is green.) I suspect there is something wrong in the Mail Preferences, but I don't know where to start to fix this problem. When I tried troubleshooting a related mail problem a few weeks ago, I received an error message saying that more than one account was attached to that SMTP server. Where I should start?

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy ISP sent an email that they want me to change the port my email program uses. They said most programs use port 25 and they wanted it changed to port 587 because it's safer. I called them to clarify and the tech had me change my Mail 3.6 preferences/advanced from port 995 to port 110 which he said was safer. Doing so renders me unable to e-mail so I switched it back to port 995. He couldn't figure out why 110 wouldn't work and suggested I contact Apple. I need to make any changes to my Mail account or not based either on the message from my ISP or the change the tech was trying to make. Unless I hear otherwise I'm staying at 995.
