I am trying to update my Address Book with a new email adress for one of my clents. I looks like I can't. I suspect iClould is the reason why I suddenly can't. I have been trying to do this symple task for like an hour!These computers are supposed to be simple to use.

I'm trying to edit my contacts in Address Book and all of the edit features are grayed out. New to the MAC world...kind of lost about fixing this problem.

Why can't I edit or delete Address Book cards on my Macs, now that I've migrated to iCloud? I can edit/delete if I go to iCloud, but the changes don't sync with my Macs.Just wait for Apple to fix a bug?

i had some groups set up on my Mac Pro address book and they where syced with Icloud and my Iphone. just a few days ago i noticed that the contacts from A to J in each group are missing. I corrected this on the Macbook Pro but it did not change on Icloud or my I phone. how do i get my changes in my address book to update on Icloud?

I'm tediously working through my address book and getting rid of duplicates and merging. One of the weird things is that there is now a # category at the end of the alphabet. Why are certain contacts listed there and not alphabetized? How do I get them up to the alphabetized part? I can't tell which device they came from.Â

Since setting up iCloud, all my contacts from Address Book are on iCloud.Fine Then I want to erase my contacts on my iPhone to replace them with my clean contacts in Address Book.To do so, I do a usual (Info tab of iTunes sync settings, check to Sync Contacts with Address Book, then further down under Advanced ... Recently I tried to set up sync with gmail. As soon as I did all my contacts in the cloud and all my Apple devices disappeared. I shut down the sync and tried to re-import my contacts from an earlier export, but each time I choose Import, the names appear, the wheel spins, and when it stops all the contacts disappear.

This has wiped the entire address book on iCloud and lost contacts on all devices can I get them back? I expect the Cloud has been erased and that I am not able to retrieve my contacts.

I have two sets of contacts in my address book, one on local drive and one from iCloud. How do I delete all the contacts from my local drive as they are all out of date?
I have tried deleting the contacts but they keep reappearing. I have tried to create a new group and they keep disappearing! I have read forums and some talk about removing the two addressbook.plist files but I don't even have those in my preference folder...
If I do not have those files, where is my address book storing these contact information and how do I get rid of them? It is driving me nuts having to deal with two lots of each contact and not being able to create groups or delete contacts.

Since I upgraded to Lion and moved to iCloud, I have not been able to edit the photos in my address book. I saw and tried lots of solutions in the discussions about this re: Snow Leopard, and none of those solutions worked -Â especially the solutions that involve going into [main hard drive]> Application Support>Address Book and so forth. There IS no folder in Application Support for Address Book. Repaired permissions and all that sort of thing.

I have no idea why but I can't delete or edit Address Book entries in Lion. It works fine on the web-based client and from my iPad 2 and iPhone 4 (CDMA). But my Address Book.app in Lion only can view them. I've tried turning off the Address Book function and re-adding it. So i just upgraded my macbook form tiger to snow leopard. I decided to do a clean install as there was plenty on my computer which i didn't want or need. There are two things that if possible i would love to keep and those are my address book contacts and my calendar dates.
I have a Carbon Copy Clone of my computer done just before I upgraded the software on my computer.
So my question is, Is there a way to take a certain file or something and add it to my new address book and calendar rather than imputing all the info again?
Maybe there is another way to do this as well.
I've tried out iChat and have added 2 friends and iChat has added 2 more contact entries for each of those buddies. Now I can't delete them, or know how to. I thought I could just right click & delete or just drag to the trash but nothing happens. I'm sure its user error [since I'm new to Mac's] but why can't I delete and/or why would it add another contact for a contact I already have? what's going on here with the contacts and what not. I'd basically like to just add my buddies I already have to the iChat buddies but not sure what I'm doing.

I deleted them all yesterday afternoon and now have about 20 or so of some contacts. Some do not duplicate at all. I found this thread over at apple [URL] but as my mobile me account contains the duplicates as well cant get the workaround (deleting address book file) to work.

I have 2 address book accounts. One private set up to sync via CardDAV to Lion Server, and one work account on Exchange 2010 SP1. Adding or editing contact photos works on my private account both on my iPhone/iPad and on my MAC. On my work account I can edit och change picture but not ADD a picture on my mac, but it works on my iPhone/iPad.Â

I am trying to move all of my contacts from my iphone to the address book on my macbook. I have carried out a back up and then tried a sync choosing the "merge info" option along the way. I have retained all the contacts on my phone but cannot get them to appear in my address book on my mac. When I look at my contacts on the iphone - when I check in the groups tab I now have two listing under "from my mac" these are the single contact i made up in order to merge and "all from my mac" which contains this single contact along with the standard apple contact that always appears. It seems the info is going to the phone but not back into my address book.
