I don't know if this is the right place to ask this question, but today my Apple Account forced me to change my Apple ID. Just moments ago, with all my prior Apple ID info intact, I downloaded the Beta for Messages. Is that involved?

I want to set up messages, but when I go to the prefs, the AppleID is wrong. So, I tried clicking on:
Manage Apple ID & it takes to page in Spanish!!
I tried looking for the information via the question, How to change Apple ID in Messages, but found nothing.
Oddly, my Apple ID is correct for Support Communities, just not correct for Messages account.

I get the following error message after installing the Messages Beta. I've since unistalled Messages and updated 10.7.4 hoping this would resolve the issue. It appears that some of the 10.8 security features(Gatekeeper)have been installed on my computer, but my system preferences application was not updated to allow me to change the Mac App store security settingsI do not have a current time machine backup to roll back the OS.

I said I cannot send or receive emails with my @mac.com email address even though both email addresses are listed within the mobileme acoount. I don´t understand. I haven't changed anything or screwed up anything , actually I haven´t done anything at all, just check for emails.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to use iCloud calendar services for collaboration with my wife, and my secretary (I actually even bought a mac for my wife so that we could do this). However every time either of them change anything in their respective calendars I get an e-mail from iCloud saying an event has been created. This only started about a week ago. I have checked to see if some of my settings in iCloud have changed, and they haven't (the box in iCloud that says: "E-mail me when this calendar changes" is not ticked). Why I am suddenly getting all these e-mails which are quite irritating.

I had a hotmail account and about a month ago apple mail deleted all my messages from the hotmail account, therefore I am unable to access any of them from anywhere else except my mac.
I learned that that was due to me leaving the box "remove copy from server after retrieving a message." Now I fixed that and moved to gmail, as I was able to upload all hotmail messages to my gmail account through tuhunderbird.
Since I am not a big fan of Thunderbird as it is giving me some password issues, today I set up the gmail imap (I think) accunt on my apple mail, but there is no box "remove copy from server after retrieving a message" for gmail in prefrences, just for hotmail.
Now I am scared, will apple mail delete all my messages from the gmail server, and if it will, how do I prevent it from doing so?

How do I change the name in the iCloud account details in system preferences? For some reason it has picked up a wrong name and everytime I try to change it it does not memorise the change but keeps defaulting back to the wrong name.
