In the keynote, at the end of the iPhoto for iPad demo, there was a brief demo of a new iCloud feature that would allow sharing of photos to a web link. I'm confused as to whether this is only in the iOS iPhoto app or, if as stated a new feature of iCloud, should it be a new feature of iPhoto 9 as well? Is this Apple's replacement for MobileMe's iWeb and iPhoto's Gallery?

I am unable to access links that are included in emails. I get an error message that says unable to access, then the site address, then No associated application could be found. when you sent a reply, I was unable to get the answer I am using Safari as my browser, this is a recent problem, a few days, the only thing that I have changed was to delete real player.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using this same router from atleast 6~7 months.. was working perfectly few days back though, but suddenly my ISP decided to (so called) upgrade there service... and since then i am not able to fully access few webpages... Youtube is not working... it shows broken links to the pictures and videos never load... Hotmail is not working... inbox opens but all the mails are scrambled... cannot open any mails... facebook is not showing pictures not even thumbnails...
and many other sites have the same issue... i am connecting my router to the ISP through PPPoE using a Username and Password... now the fun part is all these websites are working perfectly through the same router on a Windows PC... through Wireless and even through hard wired... the prob is only with both of my Macs (Macbook-core2duo & Mac Pro)... with both the connecting options...
I use safari on my imac. I was able to access a shared link (to access a briefcase) via a university website. It requires me to enter ID and password to access the briefcase. It also requires me to enter my ID and password whenever I click a new file in the briefcase. The shared link was okay until I let Safari remember my password. Now when I click the shared link, it says "Error 404! No such item". I am not able to access that shared link. Â
I tried to log on my imac with another user/account, and found out that the shared link is still working. I also tried to use my macbook and the link is working as well. So i guess that it must be something wrong when I let Safari remember my password the first time when I accessed that link. I have done Safari Reset and cleared all history, cookies, passwords, etc... but I am still not able to access that link under my own account. Â

I can't seem to have my mac linked via icloud to my ios devices. When I buy a song on my ipad, it will imediately show up on my iphone and vice versa. However, nothing shows up on my mac itunes. As well, if I buy a song through itunes on my mac, nothing shows up on either of the ios devices. I have icloud turned on on my mac. I've check and triple checked all the settings and all seem to be correct.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI tried to access my NAS from my macbook today, using AFP. I believe it was partially working. On the mac side I didn't configure anything in particular. The NAS was setup with 3 AFP shares with unique names. When I opened the Finder on the mac, the NAS (FreeNAS) appeared. Clicking on the "freenas" brought up the three shares. I didn't specifically mount any shares, but obviously the mac picked them up because the unique names were there. As well, I was able to briefly browse the folders. The problem is that the connection to the shares does not last long.
Sometimes I can't even click on the NAS name and bring up the shares, I just get a never ending "connecting...." Even worse, once this has happened I am unable to do any further work with the network. Even web browsing using Safari ceases to work. Even worser worse, the mac will not reboot properly. I have to do a hard shutdown. For what it's worth, the same thing appears to happen when I try to mount a samba share such as smb://192.168.100.10. It may briefly connect but before too long Finder pretty much hangs, as well as the internet.
My iphone has malfuctioned and is not useable, but everything is saved to icloud. I cannot figure how to access the photo stream from iCloud from the iphone camera , onto the new iMac. I was able to download my entire iTunes library onto my new iMac, but need help figuring out the photos.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble accessing files and moving folders on a shared drive. When I try to open or move a file, it says "The document "X" could not be opened. You do not have appropriate access privileges. To view or change access privileges, select the item in Finder and choose File > Get Info." and when I try to move a folder, it says "This folder cannot be moved as you do not have access to some or all of the items." The IT (who is not trained to deal with macs) says I have full permissions for our shared drive and that the problem is with my computer. So I followed the instructions in the warning box.
However, in the Get Info for the file, it says under Sharing & Permissions "You can read and write". In my System Preferences, both my user accounts have the administrator access box checked. In the Help section, it gives instructions along the lines of "in the Sharing & Permissions section, click the lock next to your name to change permissions" and also "in the action (gear) section, select the option for permissions that you want". Trouble is, there's no name and no lock in my Sharing & Permissions box. There's also no 'action (gear)' option anywhere. When I click on the triangle next to Sharing & Permissions, it literally just says 'You can read and write'. There's no other option or information.

I just need to know how to upload folders of images to iCloud and send links to clients from my iphone when on location as was simple with MobileMe. I'm a professional photographer so it needs to be as easy as it was under Mobile Me. I've looked at several alternatives but they don't seem to give the same facilities of uploading folders from the Mac then sending the link from the iphone.

I am trying to connect my pc and mac for file sharing. Several websites I saw are telling me to goto Directory Access. They say its under (Applications > Utilities > Directory Access). I dont see it on my mac. All I see is Directory and Directory Utility thats it. I have the most up to date mac 10.5.6.

I want to share my library with her because I've got like 5,000 songs that she wants. WELL. I can see her library on my mac but she cant see my library on her pc. Did I not do something right here? We're using home sharing. So she's technically on my account but I cant seem to be able to get her to see my library. I've check the firewall on both. I've checked everything. What do I do?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a relatively new MacBook Air. In reviewing the sharing and permissions settings for the Macintosh HD and for user known as "everyone", I changed the setting from "ready only" to "no access" thinking that this would block access from other users (like other family members). Well, it did, but I'm part of "everyone" and now have no access to my Air. Â
I have tried rebooting and accessing Safe Mode (Command/Shift/V) and I can see the status information as the machine tries to lauch in Safe Mode, but then the screen turns white leaving me with no interface through which I can launch Finder and correct my stupid mistake.Â

Is it possible to use the screen sharing feature from outside my local area network? I would like to be able to share screens with relatives with Macs. I presently have had some success with the use of the Messages > Buddies screen sharing feature through Jabber, but sometimes it doesn't work. The other option is use some service like join.me or team viewer. I would prefer to a program like screen sharing, but without having to deal with my router.

A weird thing has started happening to my Mac Pro today. After using it for a few minutes the cinema display it is attached to on the Mac Pro just goes black. The Mac Pro is clearly still on - the light is on and i can hear the fans. The Mac Pro shows up on my local network and i can connect to it and access files from my Macbook, but screen sharing doesn't work (i just get the message 'contacting mac pro' and nothing else) and i can't connect to shared iTunes library either, which makes me think it is not just a display issue. I cannot wake the computer with the mouse or keyboard, which makes me think it isn't just a sleep issue. All i can do is physically turn the Mac Pro off, start it up and it will start up successfully and then work for a few more minutes before i get the same problem. I have reset the PRAM and SMC and still have the same problems. Can anyone suggest anything else i can try?
I should mention that i have another problem with the Mac Pro in that it has been spontaneously waking up from sleep and starting up from shutdown, and i still haven't resolved this. I don't know if it is connected to the above issue.
Before I was able to access files in my drop box on my desktop from my macbook. Now i can't sing on at all....I didnt do anything different and didnt adjust any firewall settings or anything like that...anyone know wtf is up wit dat??

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've seen a few threads similar to this, but I haven't been able to find an answer. So, here goes. I have been having ongoing problems with photo stream not syncing all my photos. It's almost as if it has a mind of it's own. A few weeks ago I took three pictures for a friend - two of them appeared on photo stream the last never did. It STILL isn't there. It shows up on my camera roll on my iPhone 4S, but not in the cloud. Today I took EIGHT pics at a park and NOT ONE shows up in photo stream. Below is what I have tried:Â
Turned photo stream off on Mac and then back onÂ
Turned photo stream off on iPhone and back onÂ
Restarted iPhoneÂ
None of these steps have fixed the problem. I thought one of the big selling points of photo stream was that it 'AUTOMATICALLY' syncs all of your pics and pushes them to ALL your devices.  Â
Also should point out - I am aware that photo stream ONLY syncs photos over Wi-Fi - I've been connected to my home wi-fi for about four hours and the pics still aren't syncingÂ
