View 24 RepliesWhen i go to the link and select either the 32bit or 64bit version it takes me to this web page. displays a banner that says windows.
Am I missing something for the download to be successful?
i have been running Windows 7 beta on my uMBP since it was released.
I downloaded the 32bit one because i was afraid the drivers will not work.
I have a 2.53Ghz, 4gig ddr3 ram MBP.
Should i download 32bit or 64bit RC?
On Boot Camp I'm using the Windows 7 Beta 32 Bit I'm Trying to Play this Online Video Game Called Combat Arms
And it Doesn't work
Last night I installed Windows Vista to run a game on here, but I got several issues. I already installed the drivers from the Snow Leopard DVD, but the problems still persist.
The issues are:
1. Sound is very very low and uneven. I have the volume all the way maxed, but the loudest it can go is less than half than the potential volume in Snow Leopard.
2. Headphones don't work. I've tried like 3 pairs of headphones and none of them work. When I plug them in, the sound still comes from the left speaker (I can barely hear the right speaker) on the laptop and not on the headphones. Also, the headphone jack is emitting a red light out of it.
3. The lights on the keyboard won't shut off. I used the F5 key to turn off the keyboard backlighting, and while it goes very dim they won't shut off.
I already tried the suggestions on this thread but none of those fixes work. I need help! Especially with the sound! Anything at all would be greatly appreciated.
I'm running a MacBook Pro 13" from June 2009, 2.26GHz Intel, 4GB of RAM, and an Nvidia GeForce 9400M. I instlled a 64bit version of Windows Vista (OEM).
I tried Beta 1 and wasn't impressed so I deleted and stuck with bootcamp.
What's the Beta 6 version like if you've tried it?
I have the 32-bit Windows Beta installed on VMWare on my MacBook, and I want to install it in bootcamp on my iMac. Can I use the same iso and just burn it on to a DVD and use the samie product key from Microsoft or do I need to download another copy- will Microsoft let me download another 32-bit copy.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI just increased my Windows partition and was going back through my regular Windows updates when I just came across nVidia's updated graphics drivers. Located here, nVidia previously did not offer drivers for notebooks, forcing one to download unsupported drivers from laptop2video.Apple has not updated their own bootcamp drivers for at least a year, and only recently did nVidia offer drivers for notebooks. I personally had used the previous drivers for a couple weeks, and had no problems what so ever, and even gained several FPS on the games I play in bootcamp. I did not install them first, I did it over the original bootcamp drivers (after making a restore point, of course) as others have.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI currently have the Win 7 Beta installed on a dedicated internal hard drive (in my Mac Pro). I originally installed it using Bootcamp, then later bought VMware Fusion 2.0 so I could hot swap between OS X and Win 7. Fusion detected my original Bootcamp installation; I didn't do any reinstallation of the Beta.
I upgraded to Snow Leopard last week.
I'd like to install the Release Candidate. I realize it requires a clean install (I don't want to mess with using the terminal workaround I've heard about for installing over the Beta). What's the best way to do this? Should I simply run the Snow Leopard version of Bootcamp and have it do a new install? Do I have to wipe and reformat the Win drive, or will Bootcamp take me through that automatically.
I recently put XP on my mac with bootcamp. When I put the OSX install disk in, install all of the drivers up to the sound driver and then restarts without finishing. I have no sound probably because of this. Any ideas?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently got my new iMac 27" i7 and I have successfully installed Windows XP via Boot Camp. I have everything up and running except I believe there's a sound quality issue. When I play music on the Mac OS side it seems very clear and precise. However, when music is played via Windows the sound seems to have deteriorated, almost hollow or more muffled?
Has anybody else experienced this? Is this normal for Windows or this a driver issue?
When I'm playing games, like Supreme Commander and Oblivion, sometimes the screen locks up and the sound starts skipping, like a scratched CD. Does anyone have a fix for this or have the same problems?
View 1 Replies View RelatedDuring last six months Paragon (www.paragon-software.com) has been working on our first software for Mac OS X - Paragon NTFS for Mac OS X. This product allows Mac users to use Microsoft NTFS file system as Mac OS X native. Now the product is almost ready and we want to offer you its Public Beta version. It's the first time when we do public beta testing. There is one big reason for that: we do want to make Paragon NTFS for Mac OS X a useful tool for every Mac user. That's why we need your opinion about it.
What we expect from you:
1. Bug reports (though we hope that there won't be many). If you find a bug, describe in details the way it can be reproduced. We need every detail, every step. Write your OS version and CPU architecture.
2. Usability issues. We want to make the product as easy to use as possible. Write us what is to be improved or changed. Make your suggestions detailed and reasonable. This will help us to understand them and implement in a right way.
3. New feature suggestions. In fact we don't have much time before the release date to implement new features. Though if a suggested feature is easy to implement or requested by many people, then we will do it.
To download the public beta version, please fill out a short web form and download it - http://ntfs-mac.com/
Meantime you can look at our short Product Description. There is not much text

This will outline a simple and easy method to install the windows 7 build 7000 to a boot camp partition, using only vmware fusion 2. This is novel because it can be accomplished without a superdrive and without burning a dvd.
1. Use boot camp assistant to make a windows partition.
2. Mount the windows .iso file in fusion and set the bios (F2 during virtual machine boot) to boot from the virtual dvd-drive.
3. Run the windows install
4. When windows wants to restart the first time, shutdown the virtual machine.
5. Reboot the mac and boot the windows partition, boot camp style.
Before leopard was released I installed windows on my mbp using the BootCamp Assistant. I have since reformatted the computer and while the windows partition remains, bootcamp assistant is gone. A few questions:
1. Is there any way I can make the windows partition larger? I want to install a few new games on it
2. If not, how can I delete the windows partition straight up?
3. Once the windows partition is deleted, how can I reinstall windows without upgrading to leopard? Is there any where I can get boot camp assitant still? I still have a burned CD with the Windows Drivers along with my copy of XP w/ SP2.
I'm using the Snow Leopard Develpoer Preview, and the latest installer Image I have is 10A380, however everytime I installed the Win 7 (X64) and wanna install the Bootcamp 3.0, it just crashes after installing NV graphic driver and told me restart the computer and continue, but when I followed instruction and reinstall the Bootcamp, it just crashed again...
View 9 Replies View RelatedI installed Windows 7 beta in VMWare Fusion on my new aluminum macbook. It's pretty cool how seamlessly it works within the OS and spaces.
But what do you guys use your virtual machines for? How often do you have it open? What OS do you use?
I installed bootcamp a couple of days ago, but my sound doesnt work. I did install some sigmatel drivers but still the soundcard does not seem to be recognized. Can anybody tell me the correct drives I need for this, or what the problem may be?
btw i have a macbookpro 2.0ghz
newest software of everything
So everything was working fine, until this morning when i installed the new 64x Nvidia drivers and the realtec driver updates. In hope of stopping the random freezing i have been getting (the computer completely freezes and i have to do a cold shutdown).
Well i have spent the last 2 hours trying to get my sound back, which stopped working after restarting following the installation of those 2 drivers.
Importantly, when i press F10 or F11 (the mac volume keys) i get no HUD or any change in system sound, this always worked before.
I have tried rolling back Realtek drivers, and also repairing bootcamp drivers via disk and via bootcamp 2.1 vista update download. All unsuccesfully.
I have speaker sound coming out on the EQ but system sound is dead.
Also no sound from headphones.
Why doesn't sound AUTOMATICALLY work in Windows 7? It says the driver it's using is good. Yet, I have no sound.I tried to install the RealTek Drivers, and that did not work. How do I get sound to work?

View 2 Replies View Relatedi have installed win 7 x64 in a partition (230Mb) of my Imac 21,5" Core2Duo 1Tb ATI. I made the upgrade of Bootcamp from 3.01 to 3.1 but i still have no sound, no scroll in apple magic mouse, no Isight. What went wrong?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI can usually figure out any issue dealing with my Mac but this one has me stumped and I give up.
Problem: Can't get sound in external speakers in Windows 7 on iMac using Boot Camp. Sound works fine on OSX side and in Parallels
Current Status: Everything else works, I can even get sound out of the headphone jack when I make it the default but not the speakers. A red light appears coming out of headphone jack only.
Tried looking all over for this but found nothing...
Anyone else having a problem with Windows XP recognizing Sound with BootCamp on the new MacPro? Anyone know how to set it up? I went into control panel and it won't let me do anything under the sound settings. I am using the Optical Out of the MacPro into my system.
I have this feeling that the forum veterans have likely heard this many many times. So if you have I apologize in advance, I've been hacking away at this for weeks off and on and haven't been able to find an answer. Also wasn't able to find a solution through searching. So... here we go. Issue is, no sound from .mov files on my PC. On my MacBook, the .mov files play just fine, and play just fine on the AppleTV. This is my main media computer, so I store all my movies here (I like VisualHub and ffmpegx much better than anything on Windows I've seen. If anyone has suggestions for Windows, I'm all ears). All my new movies and TV shows are stored on the MacBook, and every now and then I do a move of all that I've watched to here on the Windows desktop where I archive my favorites and keepers. The only problem, is that all my .mov files have zero sound when playing on the PC, though fine on my Mac. So far, I've tried:
- Re-installing everything Apple (even Bonjour)
- Installing all Quicktime components suggested on the site (link)
- installed CoreAAC-1.2.0.573
- installedK-Lite Codec Pack 4.4.2.0
- I also extracted the .aac to .wav to try another format.. the result was 2 hours of dead air
- I also tried the trick with the new update for the AppleTV in inserting a sub 1 sec clip if an .ac3 file into the .mov
- also no sound playing them through VLC
I have seen a couple posts about Quicktime for Windows unable to play HD vids, but a) not all my .mov are HD b) sounded like all the issues were video related.
I installed vista on my macbook used Parallels, but my problem is the sound not active in the windows vista. Could anyone help me to activate the sound in my windows vista?

I have a macpro, and I use the computer for work, but I have windows with one game. This game (shooter) had a eax sound and I have a headphones with optical sistem, 5.1, dolby... and all this things.
I would to knowm if the creative x-fi Fatal1ty Pro run in macpro, in mac Os and Windows. Really... I only need run in windows, but if run in mac Os... it'll be better.
I saw this sound card and... ASUS Xonar D2/PM... can I install any card in my macpro???, will it run in windows?
I have a 24" LED cinema display hooked up to a quad 2.66 Mac Pro. Whenever I load Windows 7, there is a single 'pop' sound that comes from the cinema display's speakers. It occurs right after choosing the windows partition in the boot menu. Also, it doesnt occur if I disconnect the cinema display's USB cable. However, this sometimes causes Windows not to recognize the monitor.
This sound never happens when loading the OSX partition.
