Jun 1, 2014I bought the 27" iMac in 2013 and last week it froze because my hard drive was full. Figures. So I reinstalled OSX, wiped my hard drive clean and started fresh and my computer is fine now. The only problem is I don't have applications like iPhoto and garage band how do I get them back?

Jun 26, 2012Completed a clean install of Lion on 2009 IMac and thanks to some help from the Community was able to reinstall Aperture, Logic Express and Final Cut Express, which were supplied on DVD with the original purchase of the IMac (the computer came with these softwares pre-installed). But what do I do about iPhoto, GarageBand and iMovie? Oddly, Lion doesn't include these, even though they were included with the initial computer purchase. The App Store wants to charge me for these, and my only option so far is to drag a copy (in this case GarageBand) from my backup drive, which generated a "Instrument Library in invalid!" error.

Jun 26, 2007I recently deleted all my Garageband files and emptied the trash by mistake, and I spent ALL YESTERDAY trying to find software to recover it. I spent $100 for Data Rescue 2, which I thought would work, but after talking to their customer service i was informed that DR2 is incapable of recovering "packaged files", hence Garageband. Please i need these files more than anything! Does anybody know of any other program that can recover my Garageband files??

When I will update it, there is a dialogue box that appears "We could not complete your purchase, product distribution file could not be verified." So I put it in the trash and went to appstore to reinstall again, but it won't. I don't have those two apps for now.

Apr 4, 2010my sister opened iphoto on her G4 iBook and found that all her photos were gone. I did a bit of troubleshooting from my knowledge and found that her "iphoto pictures" folder isn't located under her account. Not in the trash, etc.
I've stressed the importance of remembering anything that she changed/deleted etc, and also to remember any notifications she might have recieved. She couldn't give me anything.
She doesn't back up her computer (i just backed up my parents for the first time today but not hers, oh the irony) and now shes stuck in this jam.

Aug 23, 2010I have 7,000+ photos in my iPhoto library, many of which have been painstakingly edited. However, when I noticed yesterday that pictures I had deleted (and emptied from the iphoto trash) have reappeared in the library under the relevant 'Events' folder. Why oh why oh why? I have spent six hours already redeleting and editing. Why did this happen? How can I repeat it from happening again? Do I need to "rebuild" my library by holding down the command + option keys when opening iphoto?

Apr 29, 2012I just purchased garageband '11 on my MacBookPro, and as such it was available for me to download to my iMac. On my MacBookPro the additional loops installed perfectly by choosing a loop that wasn't installed and following the prompts. However this didn't work on the Mac.
When I clicked on a loop that wasn't present, it gave me the same prompt, but when the Software Update runs, it reports that all software is upto date. Then when you go back to choose a loop that's greyed out in Garageband, it says that the process to download has been initiated and to check the status in the software updater! Kind of a circular loop.

Dec 2, 2014Recording a track this morning - 1,2,3,4,5, all going well, overdubbing acoustic rhythm, lead, vocal, and so forth-
Recording track 6, my song just comes to a screeching halt at 00:48.
Press PLAY and it just plays a split second right at 00:48.
"Loop" feature clicked on, off. Same same. Song starts at beginning, everything ok, then at 00:48, track stops. Press "play" and hear a split second of 00:48 music.
Deleted track I was working on, created new track, song halts at 00:48.
Saved project, quit GB, relaunched, song stops at 00:48.
Plenty of memory, I back up every day.
