Dec 15, 2009I currently have lecture notes including audio saved in notebook layout in Word 2008 on my Mac. I am trying to send in an email just the text of the document - however when I copy and paste the text the email becomes too large because it seems to take the whole size of the document (e.g. text plus audio) which is sometimes as long as 8 hours worth of audio. Is there a simple way to copy just the text? I have tried converting the document into a different layout within Word (e.g. print layout) but this always ends up with Word crashing.

Jan 16, 2010I am a music freak so, as many of you may understand, I spent a lot of time with cds, vinyls, itunes and all the beautiful things involving these stuff.
The problem is that:
I want to create a perfect copy of my cds. I use XLD and I encode my cds into .WAV �a single .WAV file with it's .CUE. However, when I burn these .WAV files to an audio cd, there is a tiny problem. When I switch to the next song �for example from track 1 to track 2 or from 3 to 4 etc� track 2 starts a second �lets say� after it should be (like in the original cd). However, if you hear the whole cd, it sounds perfectly �there are no stops between songs etc.
The procedure I follow is this:
1. Open XLD
2. Encode the cd into .WAV as a single file with .CUE
3. Open .CUE file with text edit, and I change the �FILE "01 Unknown Artist - Unknown Title.wav" WAVE� to �FILE "01 Unknown Artist - Unknown Title.bin" BINARY�
4. Open Toast
5. I drag the .CUE file there
6. Burn
OS X :: How Can I Make A Precise Copy Of A Damaged HFS+ Volume
Sep 11, 2009I have a damaged HFS+ volume on a storage appliance (Drobo). It does not mount in the Finder but it is visible with Disk Utility and Data Rescue II, and I've copied quite a bit of data off of it using Data Rescue II. However, because of a separate issue everything on the Drobo is currently read-only.
I would like to copy the damaged volume (about 1.1 TB) as-is to a fresh 2 TB hard drive so that I can then attempt to repair the volume using Disk Utility or other utilities. There is no other way for me to overcome the read-only status of the Drobo. I'm looking for the best way to do a sector-by-sector, block-by-block, or byte-by-byte copy of the damaged volume... whichever of those might be the correct term for what I'm describing.
Software :: Cannot Make Copy Or Paste Into ITunes?
Aug 13, 2010Lately, when I try to copy/paste artwork into the Artwork tab of the info window for a movie in iTunes, more often than not the only thing visible after the paste operation is a tiny black dot in the middle of the area where the art should now appear. I've tried creating the art in Photoshop and in Graphic Converter and copy/pasting from each in turn but it doesn't appear to make a lick of difference which application I'm coming from. And then at some point I just suddenly regain the ability to paste new art in there. And, again, I haven't figured out the pattern - sometimes it seems it's enough just to let some time pass; other times it seems to need a reboot;

I once tried to delete the files but then when I played them on itunes they wouldnt work. So I'm curious, how can I make a copy/file of all the songs on my itunes as backup and delete everything else. And do it safety.
I dont wanna have to do everything one by one.

I like control of my photos to the file level and I don't like the libarary.Anyway... my old Windows Laptop I backed up to an external HD. Worked fine... I just copied and pasted my photo directories to the HD.I want to do the same with my MacBook... of course. I don't want to have to reformat the external HD to Mac because I have lots of photos and files on there that I want to leave on there and not remove with a format.

Jul 13, 2010My macbook pro runs louder than my now dead powerbook G4 used to. I'm wondering if there is a way to make the hum softer when I'm doing audio recording? I know it's bad to put something cushy underneath since it will heat up the machine, but I've experimented with that kind of thing, and it does lessen the hum. Are there different feet I can attach? I've searched the forums and I'm surprised other people haven't written about this.

I was told in the store that this setup would not transfer audio, so I already knew there would not be sound coming from the TV, rather from the Macbook instead.
