View 7 RepliesI need to transcribe audio files and need an application that will play audio files at double their rate (and half their rate) so that I can quickly go through audio files and then concentrate on the pertinent portions. Any applications for Mac OS X? Free is always good!
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I open one of the files a dialog box comes up that says, "Additional software is required for quicktime to playback this media" with a link to the quicktime components page.
If I just play the file anyway the sound is all garbled and there's no video at all, it just stays black. Also, the same exact thing happens with realplayer. does this mean there's a problem with the files or something?
How can I get Windows Media Player files to play through Safari? I tried downloading Windows Media Player 9 and it will pop up when trying to play the music, but won't play. I tried downloading a plug-in for Safari called Flip - something or other so that it can play in QuickTime, but that doesn't work. It still tells me I need an add-on or plug-in.

It looks like GOM player does not work on mac.
I can't seem to find a way to play .ts files under OS X. I tried Apple's DVD Player, QT, and VLC and none of them would play it. DVD player and qt would tell me that .ts is not a video file and VLC would load it into its playlist, but nothing happens after that. I know the video files are good as I can play them under Windows using VLC and MPC.

View 4 Replies View RelatedOnce in a while, a flv (flash) video I have download from the internet from sites like YouTube (using CosmoPod) will not play video when opened in QuickTime. The space for the video is there in the QuickTime window, but it is all black. Audio plays fine. This only happens for some flv files and I can open them all just fine with VLC and Adobe Media Player. Any idea why this is and/or how I can fix it?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have Snow Leopard on my iMac, and I just downloaded the newest version of Flip4Mac (2.3.0.14) today.
My previous version of flip4mac allowed me to play and skip through wmv movies in Quick Look, but this new version won't allow me to do that anymore.
The wmv movies still play fine in QuickTime and VLC Players (I added these applications to the preference pane for flip4mac as suggested by others), but they won't play properly in Quick Look.
Is there a way to fix this, or is the newest flip4mac version not fully compatible with Snow Leopard yet?
I am having trouble playing MKV files in Quicktime X. I have Perian installed. When I click on an MKV file to play it it plays fine in Quicktime 7. Is there something I need to do to allow mkv to be played in Quicktime X?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have recently downloaded a blu-ray video file. After I unzip it there are 2 folders BDMV and certificate and if I go into BDMV I will see many sub folders where one is called stream and inside have heaps m2ts files and one which is the largest and I assume thats the one I wanna watch. My question is does anyone know how to play m2ts files on mac or just be able to play blu ray files (not blu ray disc). I think this must be an exact rip of the video from its original blu-ray disc. I have tried VLC but it didn't work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm wondering if anyone knows of a player I can use that will play *.mkv files. Upto now, I've used VLC Player but the video I have that I'm trying to play is a 40min file and its 7.5GB because its 1080p. When I play the movie, the error that comes up is that the computer is too slow.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIve been having problems playing .avi and mp4 files. I try to open them in Quicktime, Realplayer and VLC. Every time the program closes unexpectedly after a few seconds without playing anything. VLC does the best by at least playing some sound for 5-10 seconds before closing. These files used to work fine only a matter of a week ago. I tried re-installing all 3 programs but with no luck, I tried re-installing codecs like perion, divx and xvid with no success. The only files that continue to play fine are mpg, flv and wmv. I have no idea whats going on.
