How can I get Windows Media Player files to play through Safari? I tried downloading Windows Media Player 9 and it will pop up when trying to play the music, but won't play. I tried downloading a plug-in for Safari called Flip - something or other so that it can play in QuickTime, but that doesn't work. It still tells me I need an add-on or plug-in.

Our home page has a video imbeded that plays just fine on my Mac Pro and we are both using the latest OS, 10.7.3, and the latest version of Safari, 5.1.3. She also has Firefox installed and it plays the video just fine. When I check her installed plug-ins, she has the QuickTime Plug-in 7.7.1, just as I do. Why does video show up in my setup, but not on my wife's iMac when we are using the same software. Do I need to re-install Safari?

I have a MacBook Pro running all the latest software and it seems that Safari's having trouble playing things, like videos. Nothing works: Flash, HTML5 or QuickTime. Tried it all. MP3s won't play in the browser either. I've looked around and many of the other people who have this problem have it magically disappear with an update, no such luck for me. Apple isn't going to be useful for less than $49 either.

When I open one of the files a dialog box comes up that says, "Additional software is required for quicktime to playback this media" with a link to the quicktime components page.
If I just play the file anyway the sound is all garbled and there's no video at all, it just stays black. Also, the same exact thing happens with realplayer. does this mean there's a problem with the files or something?
When I had the pc and windows, I used GOM player as my main video player.
I still have some .flv files, but Quicktime cannot play them.
It looks like GOM player does not work on mac.
I can't seem to find a way to play .ts files under OS X. I tried Apple's DVD Player, QT, and VLC and none of them would play it. DVD player and qt would tell me that .ts is not a video file and VLC would load it into its playlist, but nothing happens after that. I know the video files are good as I can play them under Windows using VLC and MPC.

Lately I've been having trouble watching videos on YouTube. They stop and stutter a lot, to the point where I have to give up. At first I discovered that The Google had put me in their HTML5 beta program unbeknownst to me. That was causing some problems as well so I opted out of it for the time being.
I fired up Activity Viewer and saw that when I'm experiencing the problem the process called QTKitsever -(703) Safari Web Content is maxing out my CPU bringing my Macbook Pro to a screaching halt (note I checked a second time and the -(703) had changed to -(812) for some reason). Safari seems to work fine otherwise, but as soon as I go to YouTube and try to watch a video the process kicks in and my Mac chokes.

I have been using this website. [url] to play some old videos of my favorite show... I was watching them today and It took a long time for them to stream so I let it load for like 30 mins and then played it. Some times it took longer. Some times it was really "chopped" playback... I thought if I uninstall the Flash Player and then Reinstall it, it would update and then load faster so I did. I finished the instalation process and then I go to the website and the video black box (where you would view the video and there would be a play button) wasn't even there anymore. Like I can't click on any video-type things. I don't understand what I need to do and I don't know who I need to ask about this... I really want to watch these videos. I tried to go to Youtube and see if it's all videos but it wasn't, just this website's.If it was working fine 4 hours ago and all i did was reinstall the Flash player thing then why would it not work now?
