View 2 Replies View RelatedIm trying to download videos from youtube and other websites. I downloaded the real player from the real.com website.
In windows, if we wish to download, we move thw cursor to the video and a small tab pops up saying "Download". We click on it, it downloads.
Now in Mac, there is a add on called download manager for real player.
I watched a few vieods over the youtube, to guide myself. Instructions were to open real player and download manager.
Then open the link in safari or firefox where your video is and play it, once the video starts streaming, it should appear in the download manager, and i should be able to download it.
But when i follow all these procedures, the video is not appearing in the download manager.

Now when I try to view a video posted on a website I get the message, "Invalid Socket Error." I Goolgled and read Error #18. It told me to ask my ISP for proxy information. My ISP told me there are no proxies for my account.

I've been googling for and app that would let me convert real media files to format that would let me burn them to dvd and play on a dvd player and that can also be played in quicktime. A free app maybe?
View 2 Replies View Related've been using Real Player and the Real Player downloader to download YouTube video clips, and until yesterday all was fine. Yesterday evening however, the downloader decided to stop working and now just sits there doing nothing when I play a YouTube clip. Real Player itself works fine.
I've already trashed and reinstalled Real Player twice but to no avail. The odd thing is every time I've reinstalled it it has remembered the clips I'd been playing before I trashed it.
i use visualhub at the moment, is there anything better?

I used imovie and did this but the video quality is terrible when i export it (shadows are like flcikers of grays). Im wondering if theres a way to do this to keep te exact video quality ( when importing to imovie i clicked keep original quality but still turned out terrible after i exported it) or to simply crop the video i need out of the movie.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've shot a film on the RED one camera and our editor and colourist worked with Final Cut and in 1920x1080. I've exported this as a single Apple ProRes HQ Quicktime and used the 'DVD: High Quality 90 mins' setting in Compressor - and then used DVD studio pro to burn (all this is using Final Cut Studio 2).

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been trying for a few days now to get iDVD to save a disk image to my computer hard drive (since my Superdrive isn't here yet), but every time it'll crash at some random part of the encoding. The last time I tried it crashed within a few seconds, but last time it had encoded one of the three videos in my project before it crashed. It just "unexpectedly quits".
Is there any video info application? That lets you check a video's encoding, sound info etc.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for some software that will easily allow me to change the encoding of video media. I have a couple of files in Matroska format at the moment, and would like to convert them to something more mainstream. However, ideally I could get some software that allows me to go from any-to-any (assuming I have the correct codecs installed?
View 1 Replies View RelatedAt this moment, I have my Mac mini encoding video with HandBrake for iTunes. In iStat Pro in Dashboard, it says that my CPU is 204 degrees Fahrenheit! Is this normal? I get that video encoding is CPU intensive. But why would the fan only stay at 1500 RPM and not kick up to keep the processor cool? The area around the fan is scalding hot in the back, also.
View 4 Replies View RelatedAny way I can encode video on my 13" 2011 MBP without maintaining a CPU temp of 92 degrees? I have a bunch of mkv video files with ass subtitles, and I've tried Handbrake, which is fine and dandy except it doesn't support .ass subtitles or the Xvid format. Anyone know a good video conversion software that supports encoding to Xvid/Divx, .ass subtitle, and mp3 audio?

I've tried every tip on the web including, reducing the encoding quality & reducing the burn speed and de-install and re-install iDVD, but still manage to get the same message 'Encoding Video - There was an error during movie encoding' after having waited an hour for it to encode.I'm using iDVD '08 Vir.7.0.1 on a MacBook (10.5.8) with over 20GB of free space and 1GB of memory. The .avi file is 500mb in size.I've tried saving as a Video_TS folder rather than directly to a DVD, but still get the same error.

View 8 Replies View RelatedNewbie wants to understand why dvd player cannot launch video dvd. I have been to the apple store genius bar, where the problem has not been solved. It appears to be a software problem, since external HD running OS X 10.6.3 reads disk. I would rather avoid formatting HD drive. Can I selectively reinstall some software, such as DVD Player, from the original 10.6.1 installer disks? I have a Macbook 2.13 GHz, 4 GB RAM, 160 GB HD.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've had my G5 and my Dell 24" now since May and just stumbled onto this over the weekend.
Normally wide screen movies play default with the top and bottom blacked out following industry resolution standards. When you play a full screen movie the sides are blacked out.
I JUST found out that you can adjust the Video Zoom in either format to fill the screen.
You also have sound EQ options in the same menu.
Simply double click your upper left screen to show the DVD player menu
go to Window and scroll down to
Video Zoom
Video Color
Audio Equaliser
You can also lock the aspect ratio
Now I can finally watch my wide screen movies widescreen/ full screen and it's awesome!
The EQ is also helpful if you want to bring out the dialogue boosting the voice frequencies.
