I have 7 Macs and do not want to individually auto-update with large DL files.
I know you can DL updates from Apple's Downloads site, but some files are not there.
Specifically the latest Security Update 2009-005, which I have used to update 1 Mac. I'd like to grab the installer and sneaker net it around my other Macs.
I have searched my drive, it is probably called SecUpd2009-005Intel.dmg but no sign of it and it is not in the trash.
When I check for software updates only itunes and random other updates show up but not security updates or safari update. When i check installed updates I realized my last security update was 2011-004 and I still have safari 5.0.6.
I have a 15" Macbook Pro that bought back in 2007. Ever since I've had it, it won't let me do system updates. When I click "check for updates" it will try to look for a few minutes then say that it is unable to connect to the interenet (I've always had full interent when this has happened).
Info:MacBook Pro (15-inch 2.4/2.2 GHz), Mac OS X (10.6.3)
when I try to down load system updates, I get a message that says I need to have permission to do this activity.....I'm the only person using my mac OS10.3.9
I have an ibook G4 (non intel) with Mac OS X 10.4.11. I need to use QuarkXpress 4.0 which requires Classic OS 9. Where can I get a free download for Mac OS 9 and their updates? Also, do you know where I can get a download for QuarkXpress 4.0?
When I open my laptop occasionally it has obviously recognized updates and gives me the option to install, I click yes or ok can't remember. When I do it asks me to restart, which I do.When I restart it appears as if it never installed the updates?? When I go to system preferences and check to see installed updates it does not appear to be there?
So a while back I had final cut pro installed, and eventually deleted cause I no longer needed it. I used AppCleaner when removing to try and make sure I got it all.
Well every time I do a software update it wants to install "Pro Applications Update" and "Prokit Updates" Which are updates for final cut pro and its related apps.
Any idea how I can stop it from wanting me to install these updates for something I no longer have?
i was trying to get a screen capture of an issue with itunes when previewing tv shows/movies..etc but it appears you can no longer take screen caps of iTunes movies/tv shows (well ones you didnt import yourself).... or is there a work around?
I am trying to install the new updates for Aperture and iPhoto. When I tell software updates to check for updates, it tells me all my software is current. I know there is a new version of Aperture and iPhoto because I installed them two days ago on a different computer.
I can't get the Firmware updates or any other software updates.I have an old MacBook (2006) which doesn't have an intel chip! and it keeps saying this: The Installer could not validate the contents of the CoreFP package.
I need to capture some video from VHS and get it onto my mac. I've been looking around for a box to do this, and so far the most promising thing i have found is this: [URL]
I was just wondering if anyone has used this before, and if it is any good?
I want to make a video of something I'm doing. I think there was a program for PC called snatch it that did this, anyone know of a mac program? for example: make a video of me doing some photoshop work.
I have an iMac that I connect to my Vizio using the miniDVI output on my mac. My question is, I have direct.v. is there a "hopefully" free way to capture t.v. from my direct.v./Vizio and save it on my iMac. Just to edit stuff for fun?
I have over 20 miniDV tapes that I want to edit together someday. Can I use the new capture feature in Quicktime X so that I have them on my hard drive all ready to go someday? If QTX won't do it, what about Image Capture?
Information: Mac Pro 2.66 Ghz 8-core Mac OS X (10.6.3)
I use Image Capture to get photos off my Canon XSi. Lately, it hasn't been working. Image Capture shows 26 CR2 icons, but won't show their thumbnail previews. It won't download them, and I can't delete them, either. It also won't recognize any new photos I've taken with the camera. The only thing I've done recently that might have caused this is I installed a new scanner (Epson V300).
I have some 1080p videos that I would like to take screencaptures of, but the video files are bigger than my actual screen. Are there any good video capturing programs that take high-resolution photos of video-files? Preferably without purchase or watermarks.
I just bought an EyeTV 250 Plus, and I was wondering if there is any way I can capture HD 720p and HD 1080i video on my MacBook?
I ask because when you record a file and export it, it gives you the option to export the recording in HDV 720p or HDV 1080i .. doesn't this mean that you should be able to record in HD?
This unit doesn't come with Component outlets, it only lets you plug on the Red, White, and Yellow Composite cables and an S-Video cable, but you need either an HDMI port or an Component to capture 720p or 1080i, correct?
Am I missing something here or can you not record in HD? If not, then what's the point of those HD export settings?
This worked fine until today....when I apple shift 4 to take a picture I get this error message....The attempt to take a screen capture has failed. The error is: 'Cannot write file to intended destination. Please make sure that the destination folder is writable.'
