Software :: DVD Error Code 0x80020025 / Can't Burn Cd
Aug 6, 2009
When trying to burn a DVD on my external Sony burner (model DRX-840U) I get error code:0x80020025, "this disc could not be used because the disc drive is not supported." I'm using an iMac with 10.5.7.
The drive worked fine last week. Now it consistently brings up the error code when inserting a DVD.
I've tried:
*Relaunching finder
*Attempted burning under a different login on the computer
*Restarting the computer
*I've searched every forum I can think of and nothing has worked.
I recently installed a Pioneer DVR-112D in my PowerMac G5 (10.3.9) after my original optical drive stopped reading DVDs. This new drive now reads previously burned CDs and DVDs just fine, but gives me the following message when trying to burn blank CDs and DVDs: The disc could not be used because the disc drive is not supported. Error code 0x80020025.
Bought iBook G4 12" 1.2 mHz, with CD burner in it. Problems with it recognizing discs, and now get this error. Says drive not supported. Tried resetting PRAM, NVRAM, etc.
My iMac is suddenly showing error code 0x80020025 (disc drive not supported) when I insert a blank cd. I've burned to this type/brand of cd-r in the past and have never had an issue. How do I fix it?
Error 0x80020025 have an aluminium macbook, os x leopard, and suddenly cannot burn dvds, this is the first time that i have had this problem, have burned m,many dvds before.
Does anyone know the meaning of an error code -43? I receive this when trying to burn a data DVD from the Finder; the error text is to the effect of "<cannot find resource fork> for <path not accessible>". Doesn't seem to matter what I'm trying to burn. Burning disc images using Disk Utility or from iDVD works fine. My hard disk, from where the files are being copied, verified with no errors.
I'm getting the error code 0x8002006E when trying to burn DVDs. I am able to burn CDs and the drive reads data and audio CDs and data and video DVDs.
I've tried the two fixes suggested on Apple forums without success. The first was to trash the com.apple.finder.plist and the second involved removing the battery, hold the power button down, and pressing alt, command, R, P and the power button down until I heard the two chimes. Neither worked.
I've used Verbatim DVD+R and TDK DVD-R disks without success. I've used the Verbatim disks for months with no problems.
I'm trying to empty the trash on my iMac (running Snow Leopard) but I just get an error message: The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code - 8003).Â
I am getting this error "The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -50)." when I try to transfer files from my Mac Mini to my External Harddrive which is connected to my Airport Extreme. " The error does not appear to happen all the time. It does seem consistent if I am transfering files and then try to transfer more.  Â
The files I am transferring are .mp4. It does not appear to care about the size of the file, it happens with small files and large files, I can transfer some large folders (2.54G). I can connect the hard-drive externally directly to the mac mini and it will transfer any file.
I am receiving an error 5.5.4 "Invalid Email address error code 17099 indicating that mail could not be sent for Account name: "Msn". I have recently moved from a PC laptop and have been sent email messages to this account on my iMac successfully for several weeks. The email address in question is actively sending and receiving messages. I can receive email from that account.
The disc can’t be burned because an unexpected error occurred (error code 0x8002006E). I keeep getting this when I try to burn my daughters wedding pic to a dvd. Â
When I try to empty my Trash with a certain app in it I get error code -8003. I can't find reference to that code anywhere and do not know how to clean up the trash. "The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -8003)."
Info: iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.7), iMac-24, iMac-27, G5, G4, G3, iBook, etc.
I can't do much on my MacBook pro since I have this unexpected error occurred (error code -50), does anyone know what it is and how to fix it? Also when i try to open my iTunes it comes up with unknown error 13014.
im running mac os x 10.4.6 on a g4 powermac. ive got toast 9, but whenever ive tried to burn a cd, it gives me the following message " sense key = illegal request sense code 0 x 20 invalid command operation code" and then "couldnt set up the track for writing"
although I have been successful in burning a cd from itunes. im guessing its something to do with the settings, but im completelyey stuck.
I wanted to delete a file in my dekstop, but i can't delete it.. It pops out a message like this "The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -8072)."I have used "rm -rf" this kind of sudo, but it doesn't help. I can't even rename it also.
I backed up all my data onto a couple of DVDs before formatting and upgrading my ststem but now, when trying to copy this data back I am getting the error message. The Finder can't complete the operation because some data in "filenamehere" can't be read or written. (Error code -36). I have looked for ages to try and find a solution for this, but there does not seem to be one when copying from a DVD.
I have some files on an external disk, and when trying to copy them from the external disk to the mac mini harddrive I am getting the following error message:Â
'The finder can't complete the operation because some data in <file name> can't be read or written (Error code -36)'Â
This is strange as I haven't changed anything and have previously been able to copy files?
I plugged in my external HD last night and was told I'd have to format. I moved all my data over to a larger disk during the night so as to clear it for this. I woke up this morning, did a spotlight search for Time Machine and got "An unexpected error occurred (Error Code -43). I then, in my half asleep state, thought that I'd just uninstall TM. I have this app called AppDelete, which did the trick. Now I realise that TM is in system prefs and appears to be working.
Firstly, has anyone else gotten this error, and secondly, is there any way to get back whatever it was I deleted earlier? Maybe by using the install disk. I looked at it earlier and didn't see any options.
I noticed that the TM "app" in the Applications folder was only a few hundred kbs so I may not have done much damage. Doesn't anyone know what that part is? Is it just a frontend or what?
I am trying to transfer some videos from one external HD to another external HD through my MacBook Pro. I copy the whole folder but only half get transferred, the other comes up with an Error Code 0.
I am trying to transfer all my music over to another hard drive and everytime that I try, I get "error code-61" about 1/4 to 1/2 through it. I tried copying to a different hdd.. same problem. So I researched it, turns out its a permissions problem. When I try to run Disk Utility on the drive with the music it does not allow me to verify or repair the disk. I was thinking about trying to do the transfer in windows.
I have an old PowerMac G4 (AGP Graphics), which has served me dutifully for a long time. However, I recently took all but 128mb of the ram out to temporarily use in other computers, and when I went to put the modules back in, basically none of them worked. Here's the deal: I have 2 256 modules, and when I put those in my computer, whether individually, together, or with other modules, I get this message on-screen and the computer does not boot: localhost:/ root# []. Similarly, I have 3 128mb sticks, but if I put more than one in the computer at a time, I get the same message. I'm thinking the computer may have some issue with more than 128mb of ram, but why all of a sudden? I don't really know anything about code or whatever the computer is trying to tell me.
I am using a Power Mac G5 and its crashing down when I'm running the softwares and hardly start as well..took it to a reseller and got a bill and ask me to change the logic board..is there any way to fix this without replacing the logic board.
I am trying to copy movies from an external drive to my NAS and I keep getting error code 51 (Unknown Error Occurred). The drive is formatted in mac os x extended journaled. I do not know what else to do because I can't copy them using my PC obviously, I don't want to reformat the drive because I will lose all my movies. I tried copying off the drive onto another external in FAT32 but that didn't work either and to top it off, I can't fit all the movies onto my macbook.
I cannot transfer files to or from my Western Digital HD (WD1200D036). I have had this problem for a while and I cannot resolve it. What can I do? I cannot even reset my HD as I cannot move the important files from my HD to my Mac.
I added files already, now I can't even make a new folder. I had time machine backing it up, then I excluded the hard drive. I do have Media encoder that's reading files from it currently, but that shouldn't be the issue. So confused. This error code is nowhere on the internet...
