Dec 3, 2010Recently, I have been trying to convert a movie I took to an iPod playable format. It is already .mp4, but iTunes will not add it to my library. When I try to convert it in Handbrake, the audio is just a constant drone, but video is fine. It will open in Quicktime, but I get an error when I try to convert the file through Quicktime.

Jun 19, 2010I know I know, WMV is the antichrist of media codecs... but I work with people who need videos in that format. I'm working on figuring out what other format they can use, but right now I need to get them in WMV.
I'd love it to be a free application as I won't be doing a large amount of this type of conversion. I researched into Handbreak, but their developers seem pretty adamant about WMV being outside of their scope.

Sep 1, 2009In the past if I had a QT video on my desktop and wanted to put it into iTunes, I had to use iSquint to convert it and then move it over to iTunes. Problem with that is, quality is lost in the conversion. Does anyone know if QTX can replace iSquint and convert all those QT files for me for iTunes and iPhone usage? And if so, does it retain the quality of the file, unlike iSquint?

Jan 21, 2009The only problem I'm having so far is converting videos for my Nokia N810 (Internet Tablet). I used handbrake to rip my personal dvd's and tried using Internet Tablet Video Converter to convert the AVI files for viewing on my N810. When the final file is transfer, all I can see on my tablet is a blank screen, no audio, the file doesn't seem to play at all. Does anyone have the correct handbrake settings for my issue?

May 22, 2012I originally had an iPod touch, and recently bought myself an iMac and I love them both.
One problem confuses me though. I recently paired my iPod to my iMac through bluetooth, because I normally keep my cable in my car for playing my music while I am driving.
I'm trying to do a simple task of sending photos and videos taken via my iPod to store on my iMac via bluetooth. It seems when I go to the 'Browse Device' option for the iPod, this is not supported, it says that the device does not have the neccessary services or something.
Now I have done a bit of research, and discovered an App for doing this, which I have to pay for...
Am I missing something here? Surely this is a feature that should be the most basic of basic of basic features that anybody who has paid out a massive amount of money for a really good computer should have as standard? Afterall, they are both Apple products, and one of the selling points of Apple is that all Apple products work seamlessly together, in sincing and all that jazz. Don't get me wrong, I love both products, they do work pretty **** well, when a cable is used... but surely, I must be missing something. Bluetooth has been out for years and years, and Apple are supposed to be so good at this sort of thing?
Anyhoo, I'm sure that there's a simple feature I'm missing, and one of you inteligent Apple boffins will be able to enlighten me as to what I'm doing wrong, for example maybe there's a Wifi feature I should be using instead?.. I've only been using an Apple for a few weeks so far, and I'm still getting used to it.

Jun 19, 2009Just upgraded to the iPhone OS 3.0 on my 1st gen iPod Touch and when I turn the volume up whilst it's in the iPod Hi-Fi, the volume dips when I've finished turning it up... When I push the volume up again the volume slider on the iPod touch then moves down to where it dipped.it's quite hard to explain! Basically, when I turn the volume up to 50%, the sound dips to 25%.... the slider still shows 50% until I press the volume up button and it would move the slider to 25%. (If I wanted to play my music at 50% I would have to turn it up to 75% and wait for it to dip to 50%!)I have reset the iPod touch and restored it but the problem still exists. OS 1.0 and 2.0 didn't have this problem. Does this happen to anyone else? Is there a solution?

Nov 12, 2009My girlfriend and I attended the Toronto Raptors game last nightFor those of you from Toronto, we parked below the Novotel Hotel on the Esplande. Since both of us were coming from work we had are valuables in the trunk. (we both placed are stuff in the trunk prior to arriving at the location). Well when we arrived back to the car we noticed the back passenger side window was smashed in and the trunk was empty. We weren't the only ones who were robbed in that lot, there was at least one other car that was broken into according to the hotel staff. The police seem to think it was a drug addicts looking for items to sell for drugs and that it is not a coincidence that it was during a Raptors game. The lot has no cameras due to construction being done, so for those in Toronto who frequent Leafs or Raptors games do not park there, it's a cheap alternative but not worth the risk.

With the embedded flash all I get is a black box, and with quicktime movies, such as the ones on the Apple website, I get nothing - the irony of not being able to watch movies on the Apple site with my Apple iMac gives me a little chuckle. I was in my third period class, which was gym and when i went to go look for my ipod since we had free choice of exercise, i didnt find my ipod but my headphones were in my bag, and my phone was there to. Sep 30, 2010It doesn't have to be exactly to MP4 I am just trying to convert my MKV files that I created when I placed my DVD's on my macbook. I didn't realize they would make the movies 11gb's when I can convert to mp4 or m4v or avi at like 2-4gb. I normally use Handbrake, RipIt or DVDRemaster but none are having any success converting the MKV file.
