Tried bringing up a 2 minute QuickTime Tutorial on Apple's site with my new iMac set up connecting to the Net with a Dial-Up Modem.
However, after the video very slowly loaded it would stop after the initial few seconds of a start-up.
Does this mean it is impossible to view Web videos using a Dial-Up Modem?
I'm experiencing problems when watching videos on apple site. I have sound but no image, when watching trailers and tutorial videos(on apple.com) and etc.

Two things: (1) I am unable to view YouTube videos, even those I posted previously and (2) videos friends email to me. Does this have anything to do with the recent malware affecting Macs? Do i need to update Java or disconnect it? Is this an Adobe Flash problem?

View 2 Replies View RelatedHave installed Firefox 10.0.2 in my iMac (2.93 Ghz Core i7) using OS 10.6.8.Firefox will not paly any Quicktime videos and asks that Quicktime plugin be installed. Quicktime plug in is not listed in the list of available Firefox add-ons.I do notice in my Library in the Internet Plug-ins folder a Firefox_Quicktime plug-in seems to be listed. When I try to choose it from the drop down list: Install Add-on from File the Firefox add-on is gray and unavailable.I like using Firefox but not being able to see Quicktime videos is irksome. Any clue as to what is wrong and how I can fix it. I have searched the archives and see others have had this problem but other than deinstalling and hoping a reinstall works is there any other remedy.

Since installing snow leopard I can no longer watch any videos on Hulu or any network.com sites. I have installed Peruin, update QT for snow leopard and updated to the latest flash player.....any suggestions. I "got info" on safari and told the application to open with rosetta. there were a number of other programs that I needed to do that for so I thought that would work...but nothing does!
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have recently purchased a good ol eMac with 1ghz processor, 1Gb RAM and Mac OS X Tiger 10.4.11. I would like to watch youtube videos and just surf the web. But when i go to watch youtube videos they are all choppy and glichy. I dont watch them in HD.
Is there any way i can watch them like in a different player. It does not matter if they are not in HD i just want to be able to watch them smoothly. I have also installed flash player 10 and nothing has changed.
I am not able to view any videos on my mac laptop. I can't view videos on youtube, comcast, or any other website and I have no idea why. I was able to 2 days ago and now I can't.

I am running Lion 10.7.3 on a early 2008 Intel based Mac Pro. I cannot play most internet videos. No error message with Safari. Firefox notification indicates Adobe Flash crash. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Flash over a dozen times. I have also reinstalled Lion. My other Macs (iMac and Mac Mini) have no issues. I recently upgraded my graphics card to a Nividia Geforce 8800 Ultra 768MB. I have no issue playing my own video materials be it home movies, DVDs, or downloaded videos. Could their be a conflict with the graphics card driver and Adobe Flash?

I can't view any videos on my MacBook Pro without Adobe Flash and it is not available through Apple App Store. I do a lot of banking on my computer and I've read that Adobe Flash has a lot of problems. I'm concerned it might affect the security of my computer. Am I the only one concerned about this?

(ex: Working with Core Data, Implementing Push Notification). Certain videos appear to download but when I try to play them, the download starts again. I have "downloaded" the same video 5 or 6 times, and it still won't play.
Other iTunes video downloads from iOS Development Resources work without any problems (ex: Ingredients of Great Apps).
Specifically: if I am in iTunes, and navigate to iTunes U, then select the iOS Development Videos category, I see a list of all the videos that are available. If I click the little "Get" button for many of the videos in the list, the download process seems to work perfectly (I see the progress of the download in the header section, and it all looks normal). However, as soon as the download is complete, the "Get" button reappears and the video listing looks just like all the other videos that have not yet been downloaded. If I attempt to play the video (select it, and click the Play button) the download starts all over again. I have found one video that actually downloaded, and can be played.
Is there a setting that controls this behavior? I haven't been able to find it.

Rented 3 movies last night from the iTunes store. Download began and ended just fine. When I tried to view one of the movies, quicktime opened with this message: "QuickTime Player is not authorized to play “Clara's Heart.m4v”. In order to play this content, please open it with iTunes" So, I tried to open with iTunes, and discovered that I couldn't.

I cant seem to get quicktime videos to work with firefox for example when on the apple site the videos dont work it just tells me to download quicktime 7 but I already have quicktime 7 and quicktime x (i am running snow leopard). When I go on to the apple website and try and watch videos on safari they load but I would rather use firefox as opposed to safari.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo here's something that's been on my mind for a while, but never figured it was worth while asking...anybody. But with Snow Leopard coming out tomorrow which feature Expose in the dock now thought i'd ask. I'm sure to some degree this question boils over as your personal productivity preference because i'm wondering what sizes your windows are normally at. For example, say you use Safari or Firefox; is that window taking up the whole screen? If so, why? Ever really think about it? Do you have it full screen cause you wanna surf the web and do your research or procrastinate at the biggest possible size available ...or.... is your Safari/Firefox window not fully screened, simply because you normally have more than just one Firefox or Safari window open, and it makes it easier to navigate multiple windows when they ain't taking up the whole screen?
For example, iTunes for me is possibly the only window I ever fully enjoy being full screen. I love cover flow so have a "space" (3) devoted to iTunes in full screen. In Space 2 (of 6) I have FireFox in full screen but many time throughout the day hate that it's full screen cause I easily need to navigate back to something else, such as the finder or w/e. Anyways, i'm really wondering what others do here, I think it'll be interesting to hear what's up. With SL coming out tomorrow i'm sure Expose in the dock will help big time, but nevertheless.
I upgraded to latest version of Firefox 12 2 days ago and will not open pdfs or view.. worked fine before?

I'm having trouble view YouTube videos. When I try to view a video, it tells me my flash player isn't up to date. But when I download the latest player from the link they provide(which it tells me is successful), I still can't view the video.
Anybody have any ideas what I might be doing wrong?
