Im doing this Target coupon thing and it keeps saying "you need to download Java" or something like that. And i have java, the newest version, updated all 3 times apple fought againt that trojan, and it's still not working! Java is enabled and working. Why is this happening?
How will disabling the java web plug-in affect my computer performance? The flashback trojan horse virus recently infected my laptop. Apple website suggested disabling the plug-in.
Got a hairy one here that I've been working around for ages.....perhaps someone has a real fix for me. If I try to print (or save as a PDF) from a particular web site with THEIR Java "print" button on the web page, Safari crashes. Upon restart of Safari all is well. It stays ok until I re boot/restart the computer. Then the same thing happens. After the first crash of Safari everthing is a-ok. The print function from the Safari menu does NOT crash - it works all the time. sam P.S. Intel box with Safari 4.0.4 and OS X 10.6.2.
I run Firefox (and Safari and Chrome) on a MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard. If I go to [URL] it tells me that my version of Java should be updated, but the Software Update... under my apple menu does not update it. The reason for this update is that security problems were found. Has Apple made the updated Java plugin for Firefox available? If so, how do I install it?
I had an update on my macbook but it instructed me that I would have to reinstall Java Plug-in because the update would delete it. Where do I go to re-enable or reinstall Java Plug-in?
I'm having a problem playing games on Pogo.com. When I click on a game it says I need to download Java. I click download, it says Apple has its own version and to update my software. Did that, doesn't work. I found this article. [URL]. I found the Java preferences folder, it looks exactly like this, except that I don't have the "Enable applet plug-in and webstart applications" box on mine. Is there any way to uninstall and reinstall Java?
I am trying to print coupons from target.com and it keeps telling me to download the updated version of Java. I downloaded Java on my computer, but it's not working.
When I want to connect to a particular bank for an electronic bank transfer, I have always the problem that I receive the message "your Java plugin is not up to date"Â and "Apple supplies its own Java plugin". I always double check that I have the latest update, but still ... always the same issue!
I have a problem with safari. Safari quits unexpectly and appear this message : the application safari quit unexpectedly. the problem may have been caused by the flash player-10.4-10.5 plug-in. When i am trying to open again appear this message(SIMBL error. failed to load the safarisniffer plugin. error(1000) creating CGSWindow) and the safari's screen is white Safari's Version 5.0.6 I have the Leopard and 10.5.8 versionProcessor Name:Intel Core 2 DuoProcessor Speed:2.4 GHzMemory:4 GB
My safari has been crashing constantly for the past two days. When the screen pops up, its says...Safari has crashed while using the .createyourown.so plugin. I looked in the MacintoshHD->library->internet plugins and did not see it in there.
Wanted to remove questionable cookies from Safari. I cannot remove an item called 38] -- says it's a Plug-ins. What is this and how to I remove it if it's bad?Â
I hope Im posting in the right section. I used google to find a answer but my work was unsuccessful. Is there a plug in for safari to use the url bar as a google search bar? The reason why I can't use google chrome is mobilme. I might sync my bookmarks over the air and I found no way to do this with chrome. I could simply change back to safari but I ll lose the nice search-bar feature.
I have a question about Safari plugins. I was running under Tiger and got the SplashID desktop program with Safari plugin. I decided to upgrade my OS to Leopard so I can use a newly purchased Magic Mouse. Launched Safari and the SplashID plugin would not load. I replaced Safari, its preferences and other files and the plugin will not load. It worked fine in Tiger. I happened to have another internal drive loaded with Leopard from a while back and it's fully updated. I booted from it and installed SplashID and the plugin. Works perfectly! So, why will the Safari plugin not load on my primary drive that was upgraded from Tiger to Leopard versus the same Leopard on my other drive that was a clean install?
it keeps saying i need the flash plugin and no matter how many times i try to view it it wont work,it happens for several other fash things as well, can you view this website on safari? im using a 15in MBP
I have read 10 - 20 topics about this problem and have found NO solution. First problem: Quicktime Plugin.plugin was missing.Solution: Using Pacifist I extracted the Quicktime Plugin.plugin and installed it to hd/library/internet plug-insResult: Still not workingÂ
Quicktime version: 10.0
Safari version: 5.1.2Â
I am very frustrated about this problem, their seems to be no solution and I have no idea what to do,
Just in the past 2 days, Safari will randomly crash with an error:
" Safari quit unexpectedly while using the .GameTurboBooster.so plug-in
I followed Googled advice to delete the plug-in by: Launching Safari; Selecting "Installed Plug-in." I did not see the plug-in in the error message. Then I checked /Library/Internet Plug-Ins. Again, the errored plug- in was not listed. So, I ran a software update. Safari still crashed.I checked under Finder for all combinations of this plug-in.on how to delete this phantom plug
Foe the past week Safari has been "quitting unexpectedly while using the .RaisedPanelDoors.tmp plugin"Â
Process:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Safari [199] Path:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â /Applications/Safari.app/Contents/MacOS/Safari Identifier:Â Â Â Â Â com.apple.Safari Version:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â 5.1.5 (6534.55.3)

I've tried for hours to find this plugin on the computer somewhere, but I cannot find it. it doesn't exist, or at least appear, in this path as noted in the error report.Â

I just upgraded my Safari to the latest version, 5.1.7 and had to install a new version of ClicktoFlash. This plugin installed correctly and now flash is blocked. However, when I go into Safari's preferences, there are NO extensions of any kind. As a result, I have no way to control ClicktoFlash.Â
Why is my extension list empty in Safari's preferences? Â
You can see in this link the screen for a different user. My screen where the extensions are here is totally blank. Nothing but white.Â

Using Safari on Snow Leopard 10.6.8, I am suddenly unable to view pdfs - they automatically download and then open in Preview, when previously they would open in a Safari window. I do not have the adobe pdf plugin, having previously removed this months ago. How I can get pdfs to open within a Safari window again? Just to reiterate - the Adobe pdf plugin is not present in either of the internet plug-in folders.
I call it "Safari Window Corner" or "Swic" for short. It's a tiny plug-in that does one simple thing. When you bring your mouse right over one of the top corner of a Safari window [it could have a preferences for the corner you prefer], most likely the top left corner, a little blue triangle appears, if you click it, Safari jumps right up into the the corner. This does one simple thing, saves you from having to drag it up to position it. If you're like me you like windows to stay in certain places. And if you are a big user of tabs and web browsing, you'll know windows like to move around a little. Safari Window Corner saves that little bit of time and annoyance [they add up] which I'd gladly pay for. $5 sounds reasonable.
so i intentionally/accidentally deleted my qt plugins in safari trying to solve a player issue. anyway i have spent 24 hrs reading alllllll the posts and kind find a solution to my new problem. i have QTX and QT7 loaded on the mac snow leopard. this was working before i deleted the plugins. after reinstalling the QT 7, the plugins are in the internet plugin folder in both my main and user library, but Safari refuses to acknowledge their presences and simply says "plugin missing" when i go to webpage with embeded media or tries to download the .mov from another site. The plugins while in the library, are NOT listing in the Safari installed plugin list.
I have only recently switched to Mac and was looking for a browser that had a few more options to suit my needs than safari (tried pimp my safari) and so downloaded FireFox and I love the customize google app or plug in. It's brilliant. But as FireFox doesn't use keychain (what are the disadvantages of this) I was wondering if anyone knew of an app or plug in that can customize google for safari in the same way? How I can add buttons to the toolbar. The supplied toolbar is pretty limiting. How I can improve my safari so that I can keep everything integrated or will I have to stick with FireFox?
I switched from PC to iMac last week . I am very excited by the performance of Mac OSX and display of the new 21.5" iMac. The only problem I face is that quicktime movies are not played in safari/firefox. Safari waits indefinitely for loading the quicktime movie , firefox shows a big 'Q ?'. Don't know what that means.
This frustrating because I can't view any of the tutorial movies in the apple website. It is ironic that apple's own format is not playing on the new iMac.
The OS is Mac OSX 10.6.2 . Flash is playing well in the same machine. I am new to mac .
I can access my on-line bank using Internet Explorer but I can't with Safari. When I try I get the following message "The page [URL] has content of MIME type "application/x-java-vm". Because you don't have a plug-in installed for this MIME type, this content can't be displayed." I have used the Help menu to list the installed plug-ins and there are only 2 x-java- plug-ins listed. Where do I get the missing plug in and how do I load it into Safari?
When I open a youtube video on safari I get this message: "The page "YouTube - Bright Falls Episode 3: The prequel to Alan Wake 'Lights Out'" has content of MIME type "application/x-shockwave-flash". Because you don't have a plug-in installed for this MIME type, this content can't be displayed."
