OS X :: Stacks - Icons Aren't Displayed Correctly
Oct 19, 2010I am having a problem with the stack feature on Snow Leopard. For some reason most of the icons inside of my stacks are just displayed as a grey box with a dotted white line around it. As far as I can tell this only affects grid and fan mode.
Sometimes when I wait for some time (30 secs and more) or open and close the stack a couple of times the icons will eventually display correctly. I have already tried resetting the Pram and rebooting, as well as deleting the stacks and readding them.

Nov 4, 2009After updating to 10.6.1 snow leopard, I noticed a weird bug: when I first open the applications folder after logging in, the applications all have the "no icon" icon, the icon you get when the application doesn't have an icon. Slowly, the icons start to show up. It appears as if it isn't caching them. Is that possible? Is this a known issue that apple is fixing, or is something wrong here? I have heard from another person who is having this issue as well. If it matters, I use list view. [URL]

May 21, 2012Since I upgraded Lion to version 10.7.4 and Safari to 5.1.7 my safari extensions won't work. These aren't exotic extensions here, we're talking about 1Password and Evernote. When I launch Safari, I get a message saying that the extensions don't work with this version of the browser. I removed the extensions and tried to reinstall only to get a message saying that there was an error when trying to install (a truly usefull message, I might add).Â
Thinking that this might be an issue with a specific extension (1Password), I contacted the developer. Over the course of a week or ten days, we went through a series of steps to try to resolve the problem. None of these steps resolved the issue, then suddenly, for no obvious reason, the extensions started working UNTIL I have to restart my computer when it was physically relocated. Upon restarting and relaunching Safari, I got the same old message -- the extension won't work. When I tried to reinstall, the "error when trying to install" message popped up.

Safari :: Google Cookies Aren't Being Blocked?
Jun 21, 2012Why can I still get Google cookies even when when I have "Always block cookies" checked? I can close Safair, then reopen it without even entering any site and Google will stick their *#@*&@ cookies and cache files in my Website data file?Â
The "tons" of cache files that I don't even go to the site keep cluttering up the website data file also.Â
If I don't shut down Safari before unchecking "always" and returning to "from 3rd parties" sites that were visited will have their cookies appear, even though don't have that site page open.Â
The iOS Safari seems to be better at preventing cookies and cache files from accumulating.

Jul 6, 2009Some webpages are turning up with the same font. It's the font named Snell Roundhand. Error pages, eBay information pages... stuff like that. It will disregard my font selection and go with that one.

Safari :: When I Pinch-to-zoom In It Sometimes Buttons Become Improperly Displayed
Apr 22, 2012I have noticed an issue with Safari's Pinch-To-Zoom feature. When I zoom in on a website containing specific types of buttons, the buttons appear to become full of question marks or something, instead of the button. As far as I can tell, the types of buttons that do this are ones like "Login" buttons, and others.Since I don't know how exaclty to word the description of the buttons, here are examples of them:

When I go here, and zoom in, the buttons by the search input are distorted.This is not specific to wikipedia, because it happens with other buttons like with the kind of glossy look in safari, that become looking like:when I zoom in.

Oct 29, 2009My Safari and iTunes icons are just spaces on my dock. There is no icon for either of them. If I click where there would be an icon, the programs launch. If I hover over the spaces, it shows the name of iTunes and Safari like it does for every other program. When they are open it shows the little light under the blank space like it normally would.

Mar 13, 2010Everything was fine. Then I ran the software update and there was Safari 4.0.5 and I decided to update. After my iMac had restarted, the OS went completely berserk. If I click the dropdown menus, they start to flicker and run trough over and over again by itself and I can't click anything. My mouse buttons do straight things, bring up the finder and then I can't even go through the folders. I can't write with my keyboard, it just gives me random letters and I can't delete them. I mean the computer went completely crazy. I've never seen anything like this and I've used this iMac perfectly now almost two years. Everything is just flashing, flickering, jamming, cursor disappearing and doing straight things, I can't do pretty much anything. This has to be a virus, right?

They will come back in a couple seconds and pop-ups that I usually only get when I first log on will appear. Safari also refreshes the page I was viewing. I did a little research and thought the issue might be google drive, but I do not have it installed on my Mac.

Sep 29, 2008i am a tad stumped by this issue i'm having right now with my new imac. i noticed one day that none of my desktop aliases show any longer. in fact if i go to the desktop folder through finder my files and such show in there however none of my aliases nor those files show on the actual desktop. another thing i've noticed is that whenever i now try to drag and drop anything to the desktop whether it be a URL from safari or an alias i made in finder the dragged item simply just drags itself back to where i pulled it from.
