I have a Macbookpro operating Mac OSX 10.6.4 and I use the Safari browser. I use Easyjet a lot and have had no problem printing/downloading boarding passes - until recently. The two last times I've traveled (within the past 2 weeks) I have been unable to print or download. My partner has no problem using her conventional laptop with the same booking reference.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy macbook pro cannot boot pass the blue screen, all startup keys failed to work [URL]. If all I need is one successful boot to copy all my files off the hard disk. Should I:
A. leave it as it is and hope for the blue screen will eventually go away;
B. keep rebooting and hope for the computer will boot up correctly by chance; or
C. Power off and unplug everything, leave it overnight and try booting it again next morning?
I've heard some people could get their computer back to normal just by option C, which sounds weird to me. Is that possible? How does that work?
Since installing Snow Leopard I've been unable to print from Safari. When I click File>Print no print window appears and more often than not it locks up Safari requiring a Force Quit.I'm not having this issue with any other apps including Firefox.

I have tried re-installing the most up to date xerox driver and repaired permissions, but no luck. If I print from Acrobat/Illustrator or any other application, everything is ok. Just Mail & Safari are causing problems.
Pdf documents open only with QuickTime. If there are 2 pages or more you can ses only the first. If you want to print, the preview is empty and nothing is printed!

Is there a way to force Safari to print what I see on a webpage, and not default to the print style? I'm trying to print a graphically-rich site and the print.css doesn't cut it, making everything look like trash (unformatted text, etc.).

But I also have Columns B-L and rows A-X with nothing in their cells, but when I print it, they won't print.I need these blank because I'll check them off if the child in the first column attended the lesson. How do I make it so my many blank cells will print as well?
I'm new to Mac OS X, but have been working with Linux for almost 9 yrs now. I have set up a Linux box with CUPS 1.3.9. I can print from the server, and from other Linux stations to that remote server. However, I can't print from a client MacBook.
I set up CUPS on the client Mac via http://localhost:631 and created a printer associated with the remote queue / printer on Linux (the URL I use on OS X is http://mylinuxserver:631/printers/hpprinter and the driver is RAW).
I have no problems sending a test page from the CUPS web interface on Mac OS X to the Linux server -- the test page gets printed OK. However, I can't see the printer I just defined from other Mac OS X apps, and neither can I see it from the Add Printer Dialog on System Preferences (it's empty).
I tried creating the printer at the Add Printer dialog, but it would neither let me specify an HTTP URL (as far as I know, I had to use the IP icon on the toolbar) nor specify "RAW". So I tried creating a "dummy" printer in the Add Printer dialog, with a basic config, and then changing it from the CUPS web GUI. This didn't work either, since when I went back to the Add Printer dialog, the printer was gone.

Just bought a new iMac and I'm not completely familiar with Lion yet. I cannot figure out how to get my browsers to retain user/pass information. When I am prompted to save U/P info from a site I click yes, but when I go back to the site the sign-in info is gone.

i'm trying to print some stuff off using adobe and some parts are printing, but some aren't. I've had this problem before i would print of some formula sheets for my finance class and basically if it wasn't a letter it wouldn't print it off but now it's taking out a lot more.
in the first picture you can see how i went through and wrote the stuff in, wasn't that big of a deal.
second picture is one page from the file that printed out fine
third picture, the entire top part is supposed to have a paragraph on it.
I went to print my airline boarding passes and mistakenly printed to a printer that is not available now (home versus work). Airline site does not allow you to go back and reprint this particular boarding pass (I tried). The document is sitting on hold in the unavailable print que. Is there anyway to transfer the document from the print que to another printer that is currently available? Otherwise, I stuck standing in line at the airport at 5am.

Running OS X (10.9.3) and Safari 7.0.4. Can't print pdf files from Safari and sometimes can't download them either (error says they are corrupted) but I can download from a windows laptop. I found something online about disabling a pdf plug-in, but it was for Lion, so not sure if it's still the correct fix. Also, how to uninstall a plug-in unless you provide exact locations of where the plug-ins are stored.

I want to start afresh on my HD, i.e. reinstall from original disks and use Disk Utility to secure erase (via Erase & Install).I've read articles about pros and cons + how to do it. So I think I know how to do everything. However, from my reading I gather that Zero Erase is a single pass random erase whereas 7 Pass is secure erase (and there is a 3 Pass secure erase option nowadays)? That got me wondering - does 7 Pass secure erase make 7 x single passes over the entire disk?If it does, then when the blue bar has extended a bit over a third of the way across the progress monitor (that little bar that indicates time left) it should have made 3 passes, which would be equivalent to 3 pass secure erase? Is that an option? Is it possible to stop part way through an erase (which is part of E & I)? My original disks 1 and 2 have OS X 10.4, with OS X 10.5 included as complimentary 3rd disk (because OS X 10.5 was just released at that time).I gather I need to erase with disk 1, then install disks 1 + 2, then install OS X 10.5.

Getting rid of random blue highlighting by Nancy Holloway.
I posted a message a week ago on "Pure MAC newbie" forum, but no one has replied. How can I solve this problem? Or, if you don't know, where could I find the answer?
I'm using a new MacBookPro with Snow Leopard. After installing Parallels and Windows 7, the system started behaving weirdly (blue highlights show up randomly in Pages and email messages when I scroll up or down).
I have recently upgraded from Snow Leopard to Mavericks and am now having problem with my hp 4500 office jet printer. The print icon tends to stay on the dock after the print job is done and then mess up the print queue. Even worse if I forget to cancel it manually then when I put the computer on 'sleep' the printer starts up again and the whole job is rerun unless I get to cancel it quickly on the printer!
It does not always do this (the print icon disappearing as it should do), but for 90% of the time it does.
Unable to burn dvd or blueray in FCPX. Message Video bitrate too high. Have burned successfully in past. Problem began after rendering project.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been running low on memory space for a while and just recently I turned my laptop on and all I saw was a blue screen. Fortunately there was still a bar on the top of my screen and I was able to access Safari by selecting the apple icon->Recent Items->Safari. I still cannot see the time or any of the other features. Safari seems to be the only application I can open, my itunes won't open and neither will just about any other application.

getting really annoyed here, installed snow leopard on 24" iMac 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo and all seems to go ok until it restarts
it just hangs on the blue screen for hours and hours, even a power off/on results in the same problem
i can boot into safe mode no probs, but always end up on hanging blue screen when i reboot (safe mode ok)
deleted all login items etc, but still no go
not running any haxies either
I can't print to my network computer after 10.6.3. I can however print using Parallels, but I can't print from say preview or any other OSX based software.
The printer is an HP 4200 Laser jet that I access through an ethernet on my work network. I'm the only Mac in the office and am getting ridiculed for not being able to print from OSX.I tried downloading the HP drivers and re installing them but no luck...
So the printer that I have is a Canon MP620. Everything was working fine until I installed Snow Leopard, now it wont print wirelessly and it tells me that "printer in offline" when its obviously not.
ok my macbook wont boot. i hit the power button, i hear the cd drive move, grey screen comes up with the apply logo and the little progress loading spinner thing, boot sound rings, then it goes to a dark blue screen for a second then it turns a lighter blue and the cursor is there and i can move it around, and then nothing happens it just sits there
i tried holding command/option/p/r till i heard the boot noise twice then let go and it stopped at the blue screen again. i didnt download anything new or change any permissions or system settings, just powered off last night and went to turn it on this morning and this happened
just wondering, my safari is refusing to load certain internet poges. The best example i can give is when i try to log into facebook, i click the "log in" button after entering my details and it doesnt load and then gives me the Blue circle underneath the cursor and stays like this until safari is quit.
ive tried resetting safari and even restarting the macbook but i dont know what can be causing it.
Is there a way to restore Safari 4 (4.0.3) to the old blue progress bar through Terminal?
I've found a few different ways to do it but apparently, they only work for the beta version of Safari 4. This is one of the ways I've found: http://www.silvermac.com/2009/safari...abs-placement/
I may get used to it one day but I don't like not knowing how far along a page is loading.
I'm using OS X 10.4.11 if that matters.
I've notice on the Apple site in the build/buy section that the little blue highlighted circles don't appear in safari unless I open a new window! If I visit the same page in a new window then they appear! The same for Youtube in the edit subscription section. I've reinstalled flash but no luck.
