My iphoto is not working. When I open it, the picture loading swirl thing spins and never stops! Like it wants to load the events but it never does. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it twice and no luck! I Just got this computer a month ago. I have also tried the command+option to fix any problems.
View 3 Repliesfor no reason all of a sudden my iphoto wont load pictures. the application opens but it says it is loading photos but it just spins and spins for an hour and never loads. the pics are still there, they are in my finder under photos. this is the first problem i have had with iphoto like this other than its normal bloated performance issues. what on earth can be causing this? how can i try to correct it? will i have to reinstall tiger?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a Macbook running Leopard and am having problems with the wireless internet at home. Everything works fine when I take my computer other places - just not at home. The trouble is that while some pages load fine, others do not display correctly or simply don't even load at all. The other computers on this network (all PCs) run fine, so I am guessing that it has something to do with settings on my computer, the router, or both. Unfortunately, though, I have no idea what to try.

I just imported some new photos into iPhoto but when I try to copy them to a flashdrive it comes up with message The operation cant be completed because it isnt supported.Any other album pictures can be copied.for the life of me I can't work out what is different.

After 5.1.7 Update today, Safari loads facebook with broken compoents. I can't see my messages and many buttons don't load on facebook. Is there a way to install a clean copy of Safari?

I am Using an Imac with Leopard 10.5.8 and Apple mail version 3.6 and my problem is that mail does not load all the photos correctly. Some photos will get loaded and then half way the Photo is just grey. Sometimes it loads more of one Photo and sometimes less. I have no idea why this happened and even when i download the full image to the desktop it remains half grey.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've new to MAC (1 month or so). I bought a 24" iMac. Coming from PC, which has been great for me for a long time, I decided to try out MAC. I'm a hobby photographer with a DSLR camera. I want to load my photos (RAW + jpgs) to my computer hard drive. Automatically, iPhoto pops up and it's like I can't do anything with photos without having to go through iPhoto. I want to avoid iPhoto all together and create my own folder structure system on the hard drive, but my camera doesn't show up in 'Devices' in Finder. How do other photographers load their photos? I find it hard to image they have to go through iPhoto every single time. I have the camera hooked to the computer via USB. Is there something else I should be doing?
Another question about iPhoto.. . Can you organize your photos in folders within folders? Or can you just have one level of organization? It seems like your photo library would eventually just turn into a humungous sea of albums. Any advice on how to be better organized with iPhoto.

I have to Forcequit the application. I tried removing iPhoto (placed in trash and emptied) and reloaded with my iLife disk but I am still having the same issue. I have a friends MacBook running 10.6.8 2.26Ghz Intel Core Duo 8 gig ram. I have installed UnrarX a couple of times with no errors in the installation process, however the application does not appear in the applications folder or any where else and cannot find it to open .rar files.
I fixed the issue by simply copying the UnrarX app from my MacBookPro but would like to find out what is going on. I have been told by my friend that she has had this issue before.

I've been experiencing weird Spotlight mishaps lately. So I open spotlight and start typing, but nothing hapens, no search results appear. I have to close it and open again (like double click on it) and then all the results appear. Anyone hd the same problem and fixed it? it is so annoying

Went to the local Apple Store yesterday for a One-to-One appointment. I asked one of the associates if any of the dozen speakers they have on display were AirPlay compatible. He looked at me like I was crazy. After refreshing his memory on the topic briefly, he said that no, it was too new and suggested I add an Airport Express to my system to achieve my desired results (to stream music to speakers in my house). Question: Will AirPlay negate the need for an Airport Express? I'm expecting that very soon AirPlay compatible speaker(s) will come to market which will handle wirelessly all the necessary work to stream music from my iDevices to the speakers. Am I understanding AirPlay and its potential correctly?
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy safari browser on my iMac hasn't been displaying pages right since yesterday and I cannot figure out whats going on.
I've reseted Safari (cleared cookies, cache) and also tried turning my internet on and off and restarted my mac several times. I've even tried repairing permissions in disk utility.
Firefox and Chrome seem to be working perfectly but Safari will not format the pages the right way, all i mainly get is text unless a picture is linked to another page.
I have the latest version of Safari and am running Snow Leopard 10.6.6

Well for all the main sites I visit with safari they load up fine. But one site and only one doesn't display correctly. It shows up fine in firefox but not in safari. I can use the site alright in safari but I would like it if I could make it display correctly. And I really don't feel like switching over to firefox because I prefer using safari. So is there any way I can fix this issue without having to switch browsers every time I visit the site.

Normally when renaming files you will have to re-locate the files to remove the exclamation marks.
Has anyone made their Application folder a stack? When I have a newly installed program, the icon does not display correctly in the stack. It shows a crossed out application icon. In finder the icon displays correctly.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am having a frustrating time of late with .rar files downloaded from the web. The Unarchiver has served me well for the most part. But of late it has failed to open a number of .rar files correctly. As a result I have tried both MacPAR Deluxe and UnRarX. On occasion MacPAR has done the trick, but very infrequently. The files in question have all opened correctly on a Windows machine using 7-zip so the files themselves are not the problem.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a 38 minute iMovie 09 video that I exported to iDVD. It stutters about a minute in to the movie. I have done the following:
1. exported a shorter version (1:48) into iDVD. The same thing happened.
2. exported this shorter version into quick time. Worked just fine. Don't know how to make a DVD that I can watch on a player from this though.
3. tried to export this shorter version to youtube. It said that "youtube reported an error"
I have about 20 hours of low res digicam videos sitting in iphoto. When I launch Imovie, it loads all 20 hours without asking then proceeds to quit unexpectedly if I try to do anything. Is there a way to prevent iphoto from loading all of them without deleting the videos from my iPhoto library? I have about a 30 minute video I would like to edit I'm frustrated.How about removing all those clips except the ones I care about? Can I do that? (after waiting 20-30 minutes for them to load)
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just imported some photos into IPhoto 09 and shortly afterwards my IMac did a hard shut down. Now when I open IPhoto I get the following error:
The Photo Library nees to be upgraded to work with this version of IPhoto.
After that I click on upgrade and get the following msg:
Can't open current photo library using this version of Iphoto.
Thought I'd start this thread for people to discover/add any info they have on what iPhoto Faces is doing behind the scenes to help with troubleshooting, since Apple doesn't have any preferences for Faces in the iPhoto GUI. This is only for people who like to understand what is happening behind the scenes. Please note this is not for everyone and anytime you do anything to your iPhoto library you risk corruption and should have a backup copy. What I've noticed so far:
- iPhoto scans the library the first time it opens, and creates 2 faces .db files with the iPhoto Library:
face_blob.db
face.db
- iPhoto creates Faces thumbnails files and places them in the iPhoto Library/Data folder along with the other thumbnails it creates................
When I select any song from this one, specific album in my library, iTunes will hesitate for a second, and the Quicktime-esque player window will automatically appear too. This happens only with this one album, and it's very frustrating. I will attach a screenshot of the problem. And also, if I go to close this player window, the song stops.
