I have already rented several HD movies straight to my iPad (1) and never had a problem. Tonight however I decided to try a new thing and insted of renting straight to the iPad I tried to rent it in iMac first (iTunes) and than move it to the iPad (thought the download could be quicker and was right: it took some 15min to download an HD movie with the iMac when it normaly takes some 45min with the iPad on the same network).
The problem is, when I try to move the movie into the iPad and click "Apply", I get the message saying that "This movie can not play on this iPad".... I tried to do it directkly on the iPad (and paid for the movie again...) and it downloaded just fine... (though it took 45 minutes).
I quit iTunes and my rental movie disappeared after watching half of the movie. The rental sidebar disappeared as well. What do I do to retrieve my movie?
I recently rented a movie for my son to watch, but have not been able to view it because iTunes is telling me that my computer is not authorized to view the movie. It gives me the option of authorizing the computer if I enter my iTunes Store password. I do and it gives me the same error message with the opportunity to again enter my password. If I click CANCEL it tells me what I already knew, and that is that the computer is already authorized. The rental purchase was made from this Mac and yet I'm not able to purchase it. Is there something that needs to be fixed in order to play this, or is this a bug in iTunes 10.5.3?
I today purchased my first movie RENTAL on itunes, using my mac. My machine now shows the movie in the rentals tab, but when I click play, the player remains black and the timer does not move from 0.00. My purchases work absolutely fine, but for some reason this rental will not play.
I have just rented a movie thru iTunes, yet it wont play, iTunes is giving an error message saying it is not supported. I hve tried using Quickplayer and VLC directly but neither works as they require an authoristation code I'm running the latest version of iTunes
I am having an issue with iTunes (9.2) and a movie that I rented from the iTunes Store. Around a month I go I rented 'Borstal Boy' when it was the 99p Film of the Week. I then transfered this to my iPad to watch on the train, which I did. I have obviously synced back after this. Now everytime I download an app, or podcast etc, 'Borstal Boy' is automatically added to my download list and starts to re-download (1.08GB). If I cancel the download it automatically adds itself back into the list next time I download anything else. If I leave it to download and try to play it (to force it to recognise that it has been watched), it asks me to confirm that I accept I have 48 hours to watch it once it starts, then it says that "it is authorised to play on another computer or device". If I delete this, it will then just try and re-download. stop this from constantly trying to download? I've watched the film, and don't want it anymore.
How do I transfer a movie I rented using my iPhone 4S to my MacBook Pro? I don't want to watch it on a small screen!
When I connect my iPhone to my Mac I can't see my rental where it should be (click on my iPhone and then click on Movies where I choose what things to sync) - hence I don't have the transfer option. The movie is on my iPhone however - how do I go about it..??? I can't believe there is no option to do it - if I can rent it on my Mac and transfer it to my iOS devices why wouldn't I be able to do it the other way around?
I tried to order act of valor as a rental, but did not work the first time. So i switched to my roommates computer and it began downloading on the same account. However, an error occured while i was downloading it but it still said i was being billed for the movie and had 24 hours remaining to view it. So i switched back to my original macbook pro to see if the download would work the second time. It is downloading but wont let me view the film because it was authorized to be viewed on the other computer as well.
So I just rented an episode of Top Gear on my Macbook Pro.
Then I plugged in my iPad so I could transfer the file from the computer to the iPad - want to watch on a plane ride.
But I don't see any option anywhere to transfer?
I've done this previously with movies. I just clicked on the Movies tab for my iPad and moved it over. But I can't find any mention of Rentals anywhere in the iPad tabs.
I have a long oversea flight coming up, do you guys know if the below setup will work? google result is inconclusive, some say it does others say it doesnt..
1) download itune movie rentals to my macbook pro at home 2) once on the plane, with the internet off, play the downloaded itune movie.
Will it play? does it require internet? some of the reports are saying they get error message saying cannot connect to itune store etc... but those are from early 2009. Anyone know for a fact if this works, or not work?
I have had several movies that I have rented on my Macbook Air and then transfer to my Ipad...they just disapear when I go back a couple of days later...not an expiration issue as it is within the 30 days..
I am currently relaxing on the nice Beach of jamaica and have rent a movie from my German iTunes store. After clicking "Rent" and confirming the movie is not appearing under the "Download" Tab in iTunes neither in the Library.
I rented a movie in iTunes and using the movies tab of my iPad, I clicked "Move" to move the movie over to the iPad. WHen I sync the device, it goes through the motions and after finishing, it moves the movie back over the iTunes side of the display. Effectively, not transferring the rented movie.I tried this same thing on my iPhone and got the same result.I'm using the latest version of iTunes and the iOS 5.1 on both the iPad 2 and the iPhone 4.
I rented a movie on iTunes via my iPad.It loaded properly. I hit play and Air Play so it would connect to my Apple TV. I can now HEAR the movie, but I cannot see it (having said that, I see the movie, still, on my iPad screen....). Apple TV and AirPlay work fine with youtube videos and previously bought movies.
Just paid for a movie on iTunes, (The Great Escape), but it won't play on my iMac or transfer to my iPad... what gives? When I try to play the movie I get error: "This movie requires QuickTime, which is not supported by this version of iTunes."When I try to move it to my iPad I get the error: "The Great Escape (1963)" was not copied to the iPad (My iPad) because it cannot be played on this iPad." I have iTunes 10.6.1 (7) 64-bit on a brand new iMac 2.7 Ghz Intel Core i5 with OSX 10.7.4. I'm a little ticked that I can't see a movie I just paid $9.99 for.
I have one, perhaps two or more problems here. I need more info to even know, but I have a few hundred songs imported from my CD collection into my macbook pro itunes application.
I now also have an ipad-1 which I inherited from my wife. It makes me wait 90 days to sync from the cloud my "purchased" music, but, putting that aside, what about my songs I purchased outside of itunes and imported into itunes? I don't seem to be able to copy and paste them into my ipad when it is connected to my macbook.
