I guess the Mail application on my Macbook updated recently, because when I opened it said it needed to import all of my existing messages to use the new features. The problem is it keeps getting stuck at the same point every time. I've tried it over and over, including restarts, and it always stops at the same point. Here is a screenshot.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a MacBook, late 2008 It originally had 120 GB hard drive. Because I had less than 10 GB of space left, I replaced that with a 320 Western Digital Scorpio Blue HD (by myself, with an antistatic strap, etc). Everything seemed fine for a few days. Lots of space, immediate responsiveness with programmes, etc....nothing could be better. Then the system started getting sluggish, and I started getting spinning beach ball clicking between apps. Every time I ran verify disk permissions, there was a long list of permission repairs. Running repair disk never yielded a result other than everything being okay. I even created a flashdrive with the installation software. And I ran Onyx to try to clean things out.
Then a few days ago, after restarting my computer (I may have done an update, but am not sure), my computer slowly booted up, came to the login screen, I entered my password, my desktop appeared and it "hung" for about 30 seconds, then the screen turned blue and went back to login screen. I made several attempts to login, but always got the same result.
I used my bootable flashdrive (which I created with SuperDuper to contain the installation disk before I installed the new hard drive) to check and repair permissions. Each time I did that, I got the same permission errors. Again, nothing detected with disk verification/repair. When I start up the computer in safe mode, everything is fine except Safari kept crashing. Deleted and reinstalled safari to no avail. Still crashed. No problem in Firefox. In the regular mode (not safe mode), I reinstalled Flash, restarted, then back to the looping to the login screen. Still no problems in safe mode. At first I thought there would have been something with the new hard drive, but everything works fine in Safe Mode, so I'm wondering if there is something with Safari or Flash. I've updated ClamX and run a ClamX scan as well to check for viruses/Trojans.

Loop, and "loop back and forth" are grayed out in Quicktime Pro running under OS 10.7.4. This is incredibly annoying. Releasing buggy software is disrespectful to the community. Appl is going seriously downhill. The problem is the 10.7.4 update to the quicktime framework. How shabby can you get, Apple?

I updated the new itunes and all but my quicktime wasn't able to update. it says that "the source media you are installing from is damaged". I tried dozens of times downloading quicktime from apple website and still got this same problem. Having updated to 10.5.7, Calculator no longer displays Paper Tape on my G4. Funnily enough, Save Tape As... still appears in the File Menu. Okay restarted and it is back, whew! Wish Show Paper Tape were a preference that could be saved, half the time Calculator launches without it, though I never uncheck it.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have installed ubuntu on a partition on my uMB and I am having trouble getting some features like two finger scrolling and right click on the trackpad as well as getting the bluetooth to work to be able to pair with my wireless mighty mouse. Also the speakers do not work. My priority is getting the bluetooth to work because If I have a working mouse the trackpad won't really matter. When I try to pair my mouse with the bluetooth I can see it but when I enter the "0000" passcode and click connect it says connection failed.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo far, I have noticed that in Safari 5.1.4 Google maps doesn't work correctly. Whenever I enter directions from and to locations, the site just sits there "Loading." It works perfectly fine in Firefox on the same account on (and running while Safari is). Also, a random error is on TrueAchievements.com, everytime I go to update my status, I get a little box that says something went wrong. Again, it works perfectly fine in Firefox running side-by-side. I haven't run across any other problems, but it wouldn't surprise me if I do at some point. I have tried disabling extensions, just in case, but that solved nothing. Is this version of Safari just broken or is there anything I can do?

Then, with appcleaner, i uinstalled QuickTime, but the problem continued. So i deleted the QTKit.framework, the console pointed it by the center of the error, so i did it. I also deleted the plists or something like that, reseted the pram and nothing, repaired permissions, verified disks and nothing!! I tryed to install the combo updater 10.5.2, but for some reason, while in the 'choose drive' part, the program freezes.I also tryed to install via terminal, but i got this:

I want to convert my .VOB files to something I can edit in FCP 7. I've been reading about MPEG Streamclip 1.9.3b7 which I downloaded. Then it tells me I need an MPEG 2 Playback in order to export the video.I currently have QuickTime Player v 10.It says that I need MPEG 2 Playback; however, I've been reading that Lion comes with that Playback. I downloaded Lion yesterday from Snow Leopard because of this (I needed an excuse to upgrade, anyway), but I still can't find the MPEG 2 Component.Do I need to install QuickTime Pro? Or does anyone else have any other ideas for converting my .VOB file to something for FCP? I'm taking home videos that are on a DVD (converted by Costco from a Hi-8 tape - yikes! The 90s...) and want to put them into FCP for a project for school.
