View 1 Replieswhen I first got my computer, and I went through the inital setup procedure, the computer asked for my email. I've since got a new email and was wondering how do I change the email I first gave to my new email? The same question could be applied to other details, such as address or phone number, etc.

I was wondering if anyone knows a good way of setting up time-delayed email?
The reason being, my girlfriend has her driving theory test about 3 days after I leave the country for a few weeks, and I will most probably be without internet access for the first few days I'm away.
At the moment, I'm sending her little mini tests every day, to help her revise, that I write myself (well, I copy them out of the book )
So I'd like to be able to send like 2 or 3 emails with mini-tests in... I'd like to specify the time and date they are delivered.
I just recently bought a mackbook pro, and i am using entourage for my email apllication, and when an email comes through with pictures in it, for an example when i get an email from cnet, it always wants me to click the download pictures to show the pictures in the email. When I used microsoft outlook for windows there was a setting to automaticlly download pictures in an email. i was just wondering if there was away to do that for Entourage. Macs, and mac software are a new thing for me, and i dont know alot about them yet.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have had my new MBP a week now. Still learning. Having a real hard time setting up my e-mail. Fist loaded up my OPTONLINE acct. and that didn't work so I deleted that acct. Then loaded up my YAHOO acct. and that didn't work. I deleted that also. Then I went and got a new GMAIL acct. the mail program seems to access this acct but keeps asking for my password. I can access gmail from the web with no problem, so my password is correct. What am I doing wrong? I tried shutting down and restarted to no avail. I didn't set the setting in this program it did it automaticly.

My college email is a Microsoft Outlook Web Access Light 2007 account, using [URL]. I believe it is an Exchange account, as opposed to POP or IMAP, but I cannot find anywhere what to enter for "incoming mail server", "outlook web access server", or "outgoing mail server". I've tried [URL] which to me seems like the logical answer due to the generic example of [URL] along with a mix of other server names found on my email's about page.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a large set of files I need to have transferred to me (about 7GB) and I need them before I leave for the holidays, so posting a high-density DVD won't work. I would like to set up my computer as a temporary FTP that my colleague could transfer the data to.I've set everything up according to most of the files I can find online. It's pretty straightforward, but my colleague still cannot connect to my machine.

My macbook pro is an OSX 10.5.8, purchased in January 2009.
When you set up a brand new Mac from a Time Machine backup, I know you get your applications, files, etc copied over. But what DON'T you get? For example, are there any settings or anything else that you will have to tweak again to make your new machine look and act like your old machine?
View 6 Replies View RelatedIs there a way or place I can go to download the setting?

View 5 Replies View RelatedAs you probably noticed from looking at my sig, I have a new G4. It has been pretty heavily upgraded, with a 1.4GHz CPU, 1.3GB RAM, two 160GB drives in RAID, a dual-layer DVD burner, a Geforce 6200LE 256MB, an Airport card, and Leopard. I bought it because:
a) Didn't have a Mac
b) wanted to set up a file server
So, how would this work? What I want it to do is serve music, pictures, movies, and documents throughout my house, and I actually need it to work with a few operating systems:
- Jaguar
- Tiger
- Leopard
- XP
- Vista
I don't have to go out and get 10.5 Server, do I?
My new Hex Mac Pro is arriving on Sept 21 (ordered it on the 17th and shipped out within 3 hours!). My problem is how to setup my new Mac pro. My current set up is as follows
1. System Disk-with data on it.
2. Photos
3. Music
4. Partitioned disk-used for backup and the 2nd partition contains Windows 7 using Bootcamp.
With my new Mac pro I will be using an SSD installed in my optical Bay and will have 4 2tb hard drives. On the SSD I only want to have OSX and my applications with the data on another disk. My questions are:
1. What is the best way to transfer my present system disk to my new SSD without transferring the data?
2. What is the best way to transfer the other drives to the new drives?
3. Is there a way to connect both machines and transfer it that way, using Carbon Copy Cloner or some other method?
4. Will I be able to transfer Window 7/bootcamp through this method?
5. Am I better off just biting the bullet and reinstalling all apps and making a new partition and reinstalling Windows7/Bootcamp?
Sorry for the length of this thread but I am trying to avoid spending a week setting up my new Mac Pro. I appreciate any thoughts and strategy you might have.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an ibook G4 which connects wirelessly to a netopia router via airport card (under keypad on laptop) Recently came across Evocam and sounds like great software as just what i wanted to keep an eye on my dog whilst i am at work
but the problem i am having is that i can not view this webcam remotely (eg from work) I think i have tried every avenue but no direct help hence my query is being posted here! So what have i done so far:downloaded the 15 day free trial (not going to buy unless it works)got that going ok and interface showed IP and 8080 port clicked on view in browser and hey presto it work - but that is on local "internal" network and wont work over internet - so found out about port forwarding static IP etc so set a static IP which starts 192.168..... and got up router browser and opened/configured port to 8080. - still not working then was told i need my public IP when configuring the IP in the airport network page (sys pref - network - airport) so i did this and again came up fine on evocam interface but then realised I had no longer internet access so had to revert back to the original IP's, sub net mask DSN numbers so i could go online to see what i did wrong which is where i am now.
I understand from other forums and FAQ's that this is suppose to be pretty straight forward but i don't no where i am going wrong so this is my question need help to set up evocam on ibook through wireless and configure airport/ip/router CORRECTLY to make this work.
I have been in contact with evo support team over a number of emails but it all general info i am given and no step by step MAC process (for instance it says go into base station to port map view airport admin untility I go to this but no base station shows up for me to click on or re-configure is it because i just have apple airport card and not base station.I would appreciate it if anyone can help or know the steps i should follow to get this up and streaming my dog while at work
I need help from someone please. I just placed and airport card in my ibook g3. I am running os 10.2.8. I am using a linksys wrt54g router. I turn on the airport. Then I attempt to connect to the name of our network and type in our password. I end up getting a message stating that the password entered in not correct for the selected airport network.

I am thinking of getting a mac mini for a home theater. I want to set it up in the home theater to hold my dvd's. Is there any way to get front row to view video_ts folders? I know there is another program that will, but I really like front row. Also anyone out there that has done the same thing that can give me some pointers? I want surround sound (optical out) and it would be connected to a projector.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI wonder if anyone can give me the basic steps to setting up a RAID array on a Powermac G4 (I think I mean a Raid 0 ie one extra hard drive).I have looked up a couple of articles but they advise to use the original install disc during the set up process. Unfortunately I don't have the original install disc. I have available one extra internal hard drive and one external hard drive.
I would like to set it up so that there are two internal hard drives with one replicating to the other one.
I am a proud owner of a MAC powerbook G4 for just over 3 years now. It runs MAc OX 10.3. For the last two weeks i have been having issues. First it started to be very slow. Then it would not boot up and i got a blue screen. I ran the file system checks from the OS X and it complained about the volume being bad and said it could not be repaired. i decided to reinstall the whole thing and did a complete erase and install. IT booted up fine. The software updater asked permission to update which i agreed.
After the update was over, the software updater had more updates. I guessed that it was probably giving me updates in the chronological order. During a particular update, it gave the blue screen and "please restart" ... and when i rebooted it did not come up... just a blue screen... i verified the filesystem using the diagnostic tool and it again said it was corrupt .... I have done this twice now and i have a feeling it happened when i was updating the same batch of software updates.... sometimes my software updater would crash everytime i launch it.....
I have a 14'' iBook and recently bought an LG 19'' Widescreen monitor. I am testing a Dell 17'' on it right now before I open the LG one, but my problem is that the same screen shows on my ibook and the external. This isn't what I want. I have read you are supposed to be able to close the laptop and then it shifts to the external display but this is not working for me.
This is my goal:
Use my bluetooth keyboard full time
Have my ibook closed at all times
Have my external as my main display
How do I make this work?
I have a 2007 imac which i want to restore/erase the hard drive so it's like its out the box.
