Bought an iPhone 4.
Realized I needed to be running Leopard, so installed Leopard and updated, etc.
Now, I plug the iPhone in, iPhoto recognizes it as a camera, but iTunes is not responding.
I have a 2008 HV20 camera that I have been using for years to stream through firewire. Lately my Mac OS X 10.6.8 will no longer recognize the camera and does not show up in the system profiler. The settings in the camera should be all correct, it is set to DV.

The difference is, that opposed to him, I am in fact using Garage Band to create a podcast. I am also using an external mic. And even though the external mic gets recognized by my ibook G4, it is for some reason not allowed to record. (Yes, my ibook recognizes it, however, the ibook won't pick up any minor sound with the external microphone. A person at a small recording studio here in my city made me realize this, as I thought the problem was other).
P.S. By the way, I had already tried two options and neither one worked out. For option number one, I used as preamp a product called iMic, in addition to the external microphone and the ibook G4. For option number two, I used the same products mentioned in option number one, plus an additional pre amp. The "success" was the same as before: recognition by the ibook G4, with the problem that one can not record into the ibook.
Could someone give me a direct comparison between resolution on iSight on my macBook and iPhone camera.

It has been giving me a lot of spinning beach balls lately and yesterday would spin when I did anything as simple as opening Safari. I had tried to repair the disk in Disk Utility, but it failed after a few minutes. Last night I restarted it and it got stuck on my desktop, but wasn't fully loaded. I restarted it with the Leopard disk and I tried both to "Verify" and "Repair" the disk and neither worked. This morning when I tried it again, the only option available was "Verify Disk."
When I do this I get the attached message. It is an iPhone pic, so I apologize for the quality. I'd like to get this figured out ASAP, as we are moving out of state tomorrow! My other thought was I could try to boot with the Leopard disk and do a Time Machine restore. I'm not sure if that would help though. I don't have anything TOO important on the internal HDD, but I would like the chance to pull it out and hook it up to another computer to sift through it. I'm afraid if I do the Time Machine restore something might happen and I won't have the chance to go through the HDD.
I'm looking to use a webcam for my Powerbook G4. I have an EyeToy usb camera but I can't seem to get that to work for any of my programs such as iMovie 09 and other iLife applications. I either want to know where I can get a camera that will work with this computer (That isn't very expensive) or how I can get my eye toy to work with everything.

We are using iTunes for Mac with our library (songs as wells as libary files) stored a NAS drive. The NAS drive is used by iTunes and our wireless home audio system (Sonos).
Since yesterday we are no longer able to utilze iTunes. Upon starting iTunes the iTunes windows opens, but the application is not responding. We waited for hours, but iTunes is not repsonding. This is evident by the kaleidoscope and upon pressing optiom + command + esc we can see that iTunes is marked in red and it says ins brackets "not responding".

I am using a MacBook Pro, 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5, 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 with 228 free GB of 500 capacity. I am updated on iTunes with 11.2.2.Â
When ever I am on the My Podcasts page in iTunes and scrolling through my subscriptions I am consistently getting the pinwheel and am reading that the application is not responding. It is not affecting my ability to use other applications like safari or browse the internet so whenever this issue comes up I simply change applications and check back to itunes a couple minutes later to see if it has since gone away. It usually only takes a couple of minutes but it is geting increasingly frustrating as it happens consistently. I have noticed that it happens particularly more often or faster if I am scrolling through my podcast feed too fast. Â
In just this past week I am unable to open iTunes on my Mac Book Pro9. I do not get an error message, it simply just says 'Application Not Responding' when right clicked in the dock. I have updated to OS X Mavericks 10.9.4 a few months ago, and it has been working fine up until about a week ago. For the past 2/3 weeks the itunes store has become extremely slow and to load a page on it takes 2-3 minutes! It also has loads of missing images/links and when buffering a preview track it takes up to 30 seconds to play a few seconds of the track. I have a Western Digital 500gb fw/usb external harddrive that I used with my pc laptop. It's formatted in NTFS, and filled up with my mp3's. I've tried to drag the whole folder over to itunes, it chokes up and shows the rainbow icon thing both on usb and on FW. Then I tried to choose like 10 folders and import, still chokes up but it did manage to import SOME of those folders. So you can see it'll be a big problem for me to import the whole thing if I have to live with this and do it manually.
Second thing is, the few GB's that it has imported, everytime I open itunes now, it tries to finish estimating pauses and whatever for those tracks, but keeps choking up and get unresponsive. So I have to hard-quit itunes, or quickly hit the X several times to make it stop figuring out the pauses etc.
Wondering what is up with this...brand ned MBP that otherwise runs well, newest itunes that otherwise runs well, no problem with the harddrive...You guys have a solution? Should I format the harddrive to another format, what?

iTunes 10.6.1 has started freezing after launch (just the pinwheel is seen spinning). The Activity Monitor indicates it's not responding and consuming 0% CPU. It's being run on an Early 2008 Mac Pro running OS X 10.7.4 and is used to sync an iPhone 4 and iPad 1, both running iOS 5.1.1. I've rebooted my machine and even reinstalled iTunes 10.6.1 with no success.

I'm trying to help out a friend here - he has a stock Early 2008 Mac Pro (Dual Quad-Core Xeon, 2.8 GHz) with stock 2GB RAM (1+1 GB). We just installed an additional 8 GB (4+4) from Newegg.com, and the problem is that the Mac Pro system profiler now recognizes only the new RAM but not the old RAM; System Profiler states that the Mac has 8 GB (it's supposed to state 10 GB). We used a chart from Apple's website to make sure the sticks are installed properly in the right slots. Any ideas about why the Mac isn't recognizing the original two sticks anymore?
