PowerPC :: Battery Not Charging Or Working Without Adapter

This morning my ibook was on sleep (was working 100% last night chagring while I was using it) and this afternoon took it off sleep and used it around the house. Now when I went to put it on charge nothing was happening just going from calculating and then back to battery(not cool) so I thought I would try with out the battery and as I suspected the comp turned off so its not even running off the adapter.
I don't think it would b the adapter thats the problem because it was working a few hours before and is almost new. So is it the DC in board? I've tried resenting the Pram and the other power one. Also when my ibook was plugged into my 5.1 system it always made a buzzing sound from the speakers when it was on AC power but when unplugged was fine however now it makes no sound at all but if turned up really loud makes a clicking sound.
Details: In short, with the power adapter plugged in, my MBP would still show as "Battery Not Charging". The light on the adapter would stay green and not change to orange. While it wouldn't recharge the battery, it did provide enough "juice" for the MBP to run off of.Some of the posts on this forum pointed to this being a faulty battery and to take it into the Apple store. In doing so, the helpful Genius diagnosed the problem as the Power Adapter being faulty, not the Battery.
Resolution: They provided me with a brand new power adapter right out of the box. In and out of the store within 15 mins.
Recently bought a mac air and while trying to charge it, the battery sign says not charging but the computer is running on ac. I tried another adapter and it works. Does that mean my adapter is defective?
My battery just went down to 7 percent charge even though it had been connected to the power adapter for quite some time. At least a few days. I didn't notice that the battery wasn't charging. Now it says it is charging again, but every once in a while I notice it has gone to not charging.
My MBP13 (Late 2011) with Lion 10.7.4 suddenly stopped charging...battery level continued to come down when power adapetr is connected...I am able to check MagSafe is working fine in both of its ends..but the system is not charging and there is not LED on when I connect the adapter to system...tried all the possible ways to fix it including SMC reset,,(but i am not sure if SMC reset worked in this case!!).
The battery don't charge and the power adapter light stays green, I didn't noticed it before the battery was empty. I have had problems with the adapter before and just reconnected the power a couple of times and it starts to charge again and the light turns orange but if I touch the adapter now the computer shuts down.
while using my 14" G4 iBook, I notice the battery was getting a little low, so I plugged in the charger. When I did, the charger plug did not glow at all, and while the battery icon on the menu bar changed from "battery" to "plugged in", it indicated the battery was not charging. This morning I did an experiment with a second iBook and charger. The problem is definitely not with the charger, since it works fine and "glows" when plugged into the other iBook. Likewise, no matter what charger I plug into my iBook, I cannot get the battery to charge nor will the charger plug glow. My iBook will run without a battery plugged in, so at least I can still use it when the battery eventually runs out of it's current charge. Does this sound like a DC-in board issue? I've found one on-line to purchase and it doesn't look to hard to install (I've done HD swaps in my iBook before). I'd really like to keep this laptop running for a little while longer.
I have an old ibook clamshell ( 366 mhz). I have 3 questions. 1. What is the best web browser for mac os 9.2? 2. How can I reformat mac os 9? I have the install disks but when I try to boot off them by holing in C, nothing happens. 3. Also my battery wont charge. It says it is charging but it doesn't.
I have an iBook G4 and an iAudio F1 mp3 player. The mp3 player is charged by hooking it up to the computer's usb port. Then the mp3 player charges from the computer. Before I had my iBook, i charged it using the desktop. Now I charge it with my iBook. I was just wondering if this was bad for the iBook's battery? I usually have the power cord plugged into the iBook and wall when I'm charging my mp3 player.
I just bought a 74w NewerTech battery about 3 weeks ago but I don't think that is the problem....
I can run my iBook off of the AC adapter fine but when I unplug it it automatically shuts off as if there is no battery in it.
It shows that the battery is charging and everything in the menubar but when I unplug it, it will shut off. This just happened today and earlier today I was working on it with the battery working fine.
I also switched out to the old stock battery and it does the same thing.
I think it has to be hardware related. I have reset the PMU and PRAM/NVRAM and it didn't help. Also when I started the computer back up it said that my clock was reset. Feedback is much appreciated.
iBook G4 14" Mac OS X (10.4.10) NewerTech 74w Battery, 1.5gb ram
My adapter caught on fire, and I had to put it out. When I tried to charge my battery with a new adapter, it would not charge. I got another battery, (old one from a friend), that apparently had some juice left on it. The computer turned on no problem, and I used it for about 20 minutes when I noticed that the battery was slowly dying, and that it would not charge again. Now, its dead again. It will not charge. Does this sound like a logic board problem? Who can I contact?
recently got hold of a Macbook Pro, Core Duo 2Ghz , all is working fine no issues except the battery does not Charge what so ever ....now it was Supplied with a 60W Power Brick , but i have since found out thats not sufficiant for a Macbook Pro .. but also came Across A Problem in System Profiler ,
Specificly the Part that deals with Power,now the battery charges fine in another Macbook Pro, so i know its not that battery as the person told me ,Here's what it says in AC Charger Information

I recently discovered my computer had died while it was sleeping. I tried charging it but am recieving the "Battery not charging, power source: power adapter" status.My power cord light is green, always. and the computer dies instantly when I remove the magsafe.
I've tried the "remove the battery, press the power button, plug in the magsafe" troubleshooting process, but it doesn't work.I've noticed that even with the battery out, the charger reads a green light.I've tried several outlets with the same results.Here are my battery stats

I have a mid-2009 13" Macbook Pro with 8GB RAM. I have the odd situation of the power indicator on top right of screen showing that the power adapter is plugged in, but the percentage indicator stating that the laptop is "not charging." I have been working on the computer for several hours and the laptop has only charged to about 27 percent according to the battery health application that is runningI have. It says the battery has gone through 281 cycles and is 2.4 years old. It suggests the battery should still charge to 92 percent of its potential. The battery is warm as is the power adapter cube, so something is happening. The little light on the end of the power cord is green but only two of the little green dots light up on the left edge of the computer.
I calibrated my battery for the first time since Dec. When I plugged it in this morning, it took 3 hours to charge all the way, and now it's stuck on 99% full, 0:00 till completely charged, and I'm getting an error when I click on the battery in the menu bar that says "Service Battery". When I click on the error, it tells me that it may not be functioning properly and to take it to an authorized apple service retailer. Before I waste 2 hours by going to the Apple store and back, has anyone else had this problem, and is there a way to fix it without having it looked at?
My screen suddenly went dark. I was connected and at 100%, however, now the battery is not charging. The system report says that there is no battery installed. I am hearing "white noise" also.

My MacBook Pro is plugged in w/the power adapter, the green charging light is on, but my battery percentage is only showing 15% and is not increasing. It was actually at 60% this afternoon...went to 22% and now is @ 15%.
Recently my friend came into possession of a used iBook G3 (I don't know the specs off hand; but it runs Tiger okay), and ran into a slight problem. It appears as though the battery doesn't fully charge, and loses power 5 minutes after it being unplugged. I've looked at the battery, and it appears okay--although possibly lose. I'm sure that Apple wouldn't do repairs on it anymore, but does anyone know why the battery might not be working? If specs are needed I can provide them. But its an iBook G3 running Tiger.
I have the very first MacBook (1.83GHz, white). My brother tested it with his charger, which works fine for his MacBook, and he said it flashes a very dim green when plugged in, and the MacBook will not charge or turn on. Could it be a DC in-board issue? What could it be?
It all started this evening where I plugged my adapter into my macbook to charge. Instead of the usual bright orange light, it was a very dim orange and was barely visible and flickers occasionally. When plugged in, it stated "Not Charging". After awhile, I decided to try again but this time it was a dim green. Still not charging. I tried airing it for a bit, and tried again. This time it didn't light up at all. Just a while ago, I realized it was able to charge again (Bright Orange). However, I noticed it never seemed to turn green so I tested it out by removing my battery.
Even after removing, the lights below the battery were on and moving as if it was still charging. (Hope you understand what I mean). After a while it stopped though. So I tried draining my battery. It went till about 3hrs (at 100% its 4hrs) and I tried charging it again. Immediately after connecting it, the display went to show "Fully charged" with the bright green light. I disconnected it and it stayed at 100% for a while before changing to 90%. Sometimes it works perfectly while other times it just decides to go bonkers. I will try using a diff adapter tomorrow to see if the problem is in the adapter. (Probably is)
I have the 65W white square adapter for my 17" Powerbook, and I have the Yo-Yo adapter for my 12" Ibook (G3 500 mhz).Is there any reason why I cannot use the 65W adapter on my 12" book in place of the Yo-Yo adapter? (I know for power requirement reasons I cannot use the Yo-Yo on my 17")
I have a Mac 10.6.8 running Snow Leopard. My battery won't charge: all I get is "Not Charging" in the menu bar battery status; the power adapter doesn't light up either. It's not a problem with the battery—when I put my battery in my friend's MacBook, it worked just fine. His battery, however, wouldn't charge either when it was in my computer. I have tried resetting the SMC several times, following the instructions exactly. I've reset the PRAM, run disk repair, and fixed disk permissions. I don't have the money to take it to a repairman—even if I did, I need my computer every day for work.
I have a PowerBook G4 with a fairly old battery (not sure exactly, maybe around two years). Recently, the battery went from a maximum of holding about 16% (compared to original) charge to 12% to not holding any charge. If the computer isn�t plugged in, it won�t even stay in sleep mode, it will just shut off. When I click on the little symbol in the upper right corner of the screen, it says �Battery is not charging� even when it is plugged in. I�ve had really old batteries before and they would barely hold any charge, but never before has it said �Batter is not charging� while it�s plugged in.
I�m wondering if there is any way to tell if this is just a bad battery, or if perhaps something is wrong with the way the computer charges the battery. I�d like to order a new battery, but I don�t want to pay a bunch of � and have the computer not be able to recharge it. Any advice? I don�t have any spare batteries to try, obviously, or I�d just plug those in.
I have had my 13 in macbook pro for about three months and suddenly it does not charge when it is plugged in. In the last week this has started to happen but upon fussing with the connection like unplugging and replugging in the magnet charger it would start for a while and stop randomly. Now I can not get the computer to charge at all no matter how much I fuss. Do I need a new adapter or is there some other problem?
I plugged the charger to my macbook but it appears battery is not charging and i can see the green light at the charger but the green light is not as usual light, i mean its a little bit light.

i just bought a new polycarb macbook (my first mac, besides dillidadiling on my gfs mb), when i check coconut battery it says charge is 5066, original charge is 5020.
Went to Apple Store, they confirmed the battery needed to be replaced, told me it was $130 for a new one. I opted against it (figured I'd grab a cheap one online somewhere for now).Then, she informed me that the cracked casing on the edge where my right hand rests is a defect and that I could have the whole housing replaced. I said sure, and left my MacBook there for repairs.
Just picked it up about an hour ago, new housing, new keyboard, new trackpad/click button....and a brand-spanking new battery on the house.Call me whatever you'd like, but that would make anyone love Apple.Left my MacBook at home during a vacation and forgot to completely power down. It was closed and when i got back it was dead. Didn't think it was a big deal, it has happened before.
I plugged in my MacBook, turned it on, and begin doing what i needed to do. I noticed after about a half hour my battery symbol was still showing 0% with the full charge symbol. I unplugged the power cord and it immediately turned off again--completely dead.Plugged it back in, turned it on and it was fine, but still not charging. The light on my connector is green as well (signaling a full charge).Left it plugged in for about an hour after that with the top closed and still no charge.
I have left this machine plugged in for 2 days and I only get a 34% charge and nothing more. It is less than half charged. I was wondering if someone there could assist me in getting a full charge.
