I am trying to set up my mail on my new macbook air running Lion. However, I'm using Exchange 2003? I've tried everything I can think of. I have the outgoing and incoming mail server info. I also know the domain name. I would much prefer to get my mail through this program than going on line which is what I'm doing all the time right now!!
View 8 Replies View RelatedI just set up my new iMac, migrated everything from my MacBook Pro, and everything works EXCEPT Mail. I have configured my MobileMe settings to synch everything, and online, everything is there: contacts, all old email, etc... but Mail doesn't show any of this stuff, nor will it retrieve or synch any of my email accounts. Also, I have to Force Quit it everytime to exit the program.
Could this be something with the Preferences file, or .plist file?
I inadvertently deleted my OSX 10 Lion operating system on my Mac Mini -- tried redownloading it but continually received an automated response saying something like ".... unable to download the software, try again later"  That is not an exact quote but close. I tried several times to download the software but always received the same message. I did verify that WIFI was up and working properly on my separate laptop.

My wife typed a very long email message, but did not have the recipient's address correct. Immediately upon sending it, she got the form Unable to Send information. She looked in her Sent folder, but I guess since the message was not technically sent, it does not appear. Is there any way to retrieve the very long email she typed rather than starting over?

Some how through interacting through my iMac file system via PlayStation3 Media Server and my Macbook Pro, the permissions on my Movies folder were what I can only describe as totally nuked and I can no longer access my data. There are no longer any permissions associated with my movies folder in my user's home directory. Accordingly, I cannot access the large volume of movies (all law fully copied from hard copies which I own, of course) via local disk acess or over the network through my Playstation 3 or by mounting my user volume onto my Macbook Pro. I did change the owner via the terminal and the chown command but while the directory comes up when I look at the permissions using root access, when navigating through the finder I still cannot access the data in the folder.Â
I would like to try to get my movies back.Â

View 3 Replies View RelatedBy mistake the Mac OS X Lion (10.7.4) file was deleted from the purchase section (Order Number: MGN5FKZ58X) of the Apple App Store. Because of this I am unable to update the OSX Lion software and now If I try to update/download the version from the Apple Store I will be charged again, because earlier on the OSX Lion page in the Apple App Store the option mentioned was either Install or Download, but since the deletion of the file from the purchase section the option shows $29.9. Why should I buy it again when I had already purchased the software. Is there a way to retrieve my previous purchase. I was given an option from the Apple App Consumer Support that downloading and paying for the software again is the only option.

Gmail is my default email client. I'm trying to send an email blast to my groups in address book. When I right click on a group, and click "send to...", none of the email address show up in the TO field, only the name of the Group appears.Previously, I used mac mail and clicking "send to" group would result in all email addresses going right where they're supposed to go.I don't know how I changed the client to Gmail, but if I can't get it to work, I'd like to switch it back.

I've always used VMware correctly, but now I just can't run it. I was trying to instal free program Kerkythea but it has failed too. I've read that I should install de x11, wich I did, but when I tryed to run VMware it just failed. Then I uninstalled x11 and xquarck, keep failing installing kerkythea and the VMware still didn't work. I use Lion OS. Unable to retrieve kernel zone sizes - Failed to initialize montor device - Cannot find a valid peer process to connect to - come up when trying to open my Quickbooks in VMware Fusion.

I've recently bought a macbook and I love it, but am trying to connect to my outlook server and having a few problems. Firstly I can't access OWA through Safari at all, every time I type it in it says 'Safari can't find the server' - it is sbs2003, and this works fine in IE Ideally I wanted to set up access through Mail or Entourage (2008) however I've read that it is not possible to connect to exchange through this. Frustrating as I have just bought this and have a free upgrade to 2011 but only home and student so apparently this won't have outlook on here either. I have been trying to connect for days and I just can't figure out the best way to get to my emails? if you could point me in the direction of a good walkthrough that would be great.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've searched high and low and can't find any reports of running Server 2003 on a 2008 Mac Pro via Bootcamp, 32-bit or 64-bit. Has anyone done it? I found a few instances of people having trouble getting it running on MacBook Pros and other systems. I also found an article on a workaround to do it on a MacBook: [URL] Even the 32-bit version of Server 2003 can handle 32GB of RAM via PAE and I have several licenses for it.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm just posting for the archives my success with installing Windows Server 2003 R2 with SP2 Standard Edition on a Jan 2008 Mac Pro (8x2.8 GHz, 4 GB RAM). I've installed Server 2003 a Mac Mini (1.83 Ghz), MacBook (Late 2006) and an iMac (early 2008) and didn't find the information available online to be greatly helpful, so hopefully this post will help somebody like me sometime in the future. To set up Windows Windows Server 2003 R2 on a Jan 2008 Mac Pro:
Boot OS X and run Boot Camp Assistant as usual. Install Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2 as usual (comes as 2 discs, but only requires the second disk upon your first successful log in so this isn't a problem with bootcamp). Eject the Windows installation CD in the windows explorer by right clicking the D: drive and selecting Eject.........................
