Feb 14, 2012Excel on my mac is so confusing and i have never used it before. It prints out everything but the grid lines for the graph..without the gridlines, the graph looks weird and not easy to read..The print preview shows the grid lines on the mac but when it prints out, i get a weird graph..

May 8, 2012I am a small business owner (professional service company) considering the switch to mac from the pc environment.I have multiple professionals in my office and we utilize a server which authorizes different users to log in to different folders. The server also stores our customer database which each of our users logs into in order to work. Our server also provides each of the connected computers in our office with access to the internet. It has a firewall which helps to limit security issues. We have outlook as our mail and the e-mail is stored on our server. How would I replicate all of this (or better yet, improve upon it) in the world of mac?

May 17, 2012I created a file yesterday and when I tried to open it today, it was somehow renamed to "Word Work File L_1.tmp". I tried to open it but i got an error message saying "The application Microsoft Word can't be opened- 108" and so i tried deleting it but i got an error " The operation can’t be completed because one or more required items can’t be found.
(Error code -43)" ARGHh! I can't even rename it or anything! its just there and i cant even remove it. Â
So I copied and pasted a new one and renamed it (yes i could somehow copy and paste) and that one can open, rename and close, so its normal. I havnt tried restarting my macbook because i have another app opened and i would possibly like to not restart or anything at the moment.

Sep 8, 2009I'm still using OS X and have never had problems before, but today anytime I try to print anything I can't get past the "File Print" without getting the beach ball. I can't even get as far as to select a printer before it freezes.

Jun 28, 2014I have recently upgraded from Snow Leopard to Mavericks and am now having problem with my hp 4500 office jet printer. The print icon tends to stay on the dock after the print job is done and then mess up the print queue. Even worse if I forget to cancel it manually then when I put the computer on 'sleep' the printer starts up again and the whole job is rerun unless I get to cancel it quickly on the printer! Â
It does not always do this (the print icon disappearing as it should do), but for 90% of the time it does.Â

Secondly, I deleted the old one and reinstalled adobe reader 9.1.3 (my mac has mac os 10.5.8) and still I am not able to print the .pdf file but this time adobe reader doesn't quit, I keep getting the message that the document could not be printed.

May 31, 2009This is my first Mac and on my PC I would occasionally email myself a simple list consisting of what programs I have installed so that next time I format (or if something goes wrong) I would know what I had installed. Problem is, with this Mac I have too many quality software to type out by hand so I'm wondering if there is a program or a function built in to OS X (maybe terminal command even, but I'd prefer something visual) to list the contents of a folder and save it to a text file?

Apr 12, 2012I recently downloaded a bundled security update for Safari and several other Mac-type programs. Since then I've had several instances where the activity selected produced the spinning wheel which would not stop over time. I've used disk utility several times to repair extensions and verify/repair the Mac OSX. More times than not, the original problems have been right after I've tried to save a file or document by printing it to *pdf. Once I select this print option, I experience the spinning wheel, and it won't stop.

May 29, 2010I'm massively stumped, word for mac 2008 crashes every damn time i try to print off the file drop down menu. It prints if i use the icon but then i don"t get any extra features which of course i need for work.
I have updated mac office and it's not a cracked version. I have also reset the printing system in print & fax in system preferences.
Software :: Quark Crashing On Conversion Of A Print File To HTML
Jun 10, 2010I'm using QuarkXpress 8.3 to try to convert a print file for a magazine into an HTML version of the file. (We've been converting to PDF's but my boss wants to try HTML now.) When I try to convert the file to HTML, Quark crashes.
The file is 21 2-page-spreads. I've tried duplicating the layout and converting it to a web page in the process and I've tried just converting it to a web file. It crashes either way.
The work-around that I've come up with is to make 21 copies of the file and then delete all but one layer in each file so that each layer is held in a separate file. That keeps it from crashing but now nothing is connected. They aren't even in the same project now.

May 31, 2012I have a pdf that I must print to buy a home. It will not print as is. I shot screen shots, brought them into Photoshop, made them jpgs and adjusted the gamma to make them very black and white. Â
It helped but the pages cannot be read. There is plenty of ink in the printer.Â
I need to send this paperwork tomorrow with a check...Â
