MacBook Pro :: Mini DVI On Current Same As Mini DVI?
May 24, 2010Ok, so I got a question. I am pretty sure my 2007 macbook has a mini DVI for the monitor connection (I could be wrong?). I am curious if it is the same port that is on the macbook pro (I noticed when ordering the peripherals say mini DVI but not sure if something has changed).
I'm just curious cause I want to know if I need to order a new mini DVI to DVI adaptor (plus one to convert mini DVI to VGA? or whatever it is to connect to my tv using the port that has three jacks - one for video and two for stereo. don't know the term for that connection). Or if I can just use the ones I have now.

Mar 19, 2009Ical Time Settings. I want to print a weekly view BUT with the times of the daily meetings adjacent to the actual event....NOT all the way on the left hand side of the view.
Is there a way to have the meeting times next to the event? It is awkward to try and see 15 minute increments, etc.

OS X :: How To Add Current Date To Automator Save File Name
Jun 23, 2010I have an automator script I made myself that I use constantly. When I run the script one of the steps takes a screenshot and saves it as a PNG file. When I run the script again, it replaces the old PNG file with a new one. I would really like it to save the PNG file so that file name begins with the current date at the beginning of the name. Meaning the PNG file would be named something like "6/23/10 screenshot". Is this possible?
I'd be almost as happy if I could at least get it to simply make a new PNG with any random filename just so long as it doesn't overwrite the old version. That way I could simply look at the date created column in the finder and get the same info.

Feb 22, 2012Pre-Lion the way to see the path of the file you are currently looking at (in any app, but for simplicity let's say TextEdit), was to select Save As... and it would default to the directory the file is open in. At least that's the way I did it...Â

Oct 3, 2010I wasn't paying attention when installing the windows XP and I choose the "Leave the current file system intact" option and I am unable to boot up my IMac. Its a black screen saying failing to boot from cd, press any key to reboot and it doesn't. I have ejected the cd and I been trying to hold down the option button to choose which to load up from but it doesn't work. I have an external hard drive that I been using for time machine, is there any way I can boot up from that disc and then have the hard drive in the IMac reset to the mac OS X partition? Mar 25, 2012I was wondering what connections I could use to view my hdtv via directtv thru the larger 27" LED cinema display?
I tried connecting the HDMI cable to HDMI satellite receiver box to hdmi port on mac mini and then using the display settings detect display. I also tried the mini DVI to HDMI connector directly to the LED cinema display port connection but could not get any HD reception to cinema display. What I could do is view the LED cinema display and picture of the cinema display to the monitor of the HDTV.

Apr 10, 2012I try to open an Open Office spread sheet and it simply saves the file as another file with the .cpgz extension which does the same thing. This did not happen a couple weeks ago; I think my download for Apple updates may be the culprit. My OS X is now 10.7.3, I believe originally it was 10.7.2 but I could be wrong.Â
The original document is a zip archive but now "saves as" a .cpgz archive. I have tried the "Unarchiver", which I just downloaded, but it only creates another file with subfolders, none of which appear to have my original spread sheet. (To be honest, I never noticed this Open Office spread sheet file was a zip file until a few minutes ago when I tried to unsuccessfully open it).Â

Jun 28, 2014I have recently upgraded from Snow Leopard to Mavericks and am now having problem with my hp 4500 office jet printer. The print icon tends to stay on the dock after the print job is done and then mess up the print queue. Even worse if I forget to cancel it manually then when I put the computer on 'sleep' the printer starts up again and the whole job is rerun unless I get to cancel it quickly on the printer! Â
It does not always do this (the print icon disappearing as it should do), but for 90% of the time it does.Â
