View 2 Replies View RelatedI have suddenly problems with using gmail, facebook, adc, etc. Everything was ok until yesterday afternoon. Since then I am unable to open i.e. gmail messages, facebook (anything but the home page), log in into the adc, etc ... It looks like pages where complex Javascript is used cause the problems. I am using a macbook pro with the latest software updates installed. I have tried on Safari 4, FF 3, Opera 9. I checked on my other two iMacs I have in-house ... same problem, although they are running Safari 3. The curious thing is that the only PC we have in-house works without problem on all those web sites. I have also switched off all devices on the network to see if there is no influence and i can't find no anormal traffic on the local network either. I thought about some kind of virus and erased my hard disk and re-installed from the original DVD.

I have had my Macbook Pro since July 2011 and everything was going fine. Suddenly two days ago I started getting an error message when trying to access Facebook. [URL] can't be found". I did what it said on tghe "help" button....cleared caches, cleared cookies, erased history, checked my rpoxy settings (no clue what a proxy is, but when I changed it to "automatocally detect proxy settings" I could access facebook again.). For a few hours. It's lost to me again.
I had touched NOTHING in my settings before the problem occurred. I had never even clicked on settings before. My router is fine since my iPad, iPhone and my husband's Dell laptop have no trouble finding FB on the same wireless connection. By the same token, the macbook pro finds any other website just fine. What's up?

So I made a backup to a new mac (the15" retina one, mid 2014). On my old mac with mavericks(v 10.9.4) notifications were working. On this one they are not. They are not showing up in notification center.
In the system preferences they are added, also in the notifications they are added to show up to 10 recent items.

I have an iMac and a Mac Book Pro. On the iMac, Flash Player works fine on Youtube, etc. EXCEPT within Facebook. When I click on a video within Facebook it appears to load the viewing pane but the video never starts. No error messages. I have reinstalled Maverick OS/X, done a clean uninstall/reinstall of Adobe Flash Player, checked all settings, still have the problem. Previous to 5 months ago, I had never had any problems with my iMessages working between my iPhone 5s, Macbook Pro, and iPad Mini. Now, no matter war I do I can not get my messages to work with my iPad or Macbook anymore. On the Macbook Messages app it says that my contacts are not registered with iMessage which is just not true. At one point a few months ago it randomly started working and I got all my previous messages on my Mac but after that it went back to the same problem.

After upgrading to Lion I found I could no longer upload photos to Facebook from my iMac. I am brought to what I think is the Finder dropdown menu and cannot maneuver anywhere from there to find and choose the photo I want to post. I have run Lion Cache Cleaner with its optimizing and maintenance programs to no avail. This posting I was always able to do readily with Snow Leopard.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI had about 100 emails in my inbox, about 50 in my sent box, about 10 in my outbox and I had about 150 folders, some with 10-20 emails, others with several hundred emails. I was working offline, adding emails to my outbox and got some sort of pop up box message about repairing the email. I quit Mail (since I was not on line and had no access).
When I started my computer again and got online, all of my messages were gone, but I did have about 15 new mails since the last time I was on line in the morning. I have a PowerBook G4, Leopard, OS X Version 10.5.2, 1.25 GHz PowerPC G4, 512 MB DDR SDRAM.

When I receive an iMessage on my iPhone, the message is successfully pushed to my Mac and I get a notification in Notification Center. That's fine. However, when I launch Messages either by clicking the notification when it appears or by opening the app, no conversations appear (window displays "no conversations selected") and after a while it just leaves me with a blank window and only minimize / fullscreen enabled. The majority of options on the dropdown menus are also greyed out.
Considering that the messages themselves are successfully getting pushed to my Mac, I don't think it's an account issue. It seems as though the app is getting hung up trying to load up my conversations.
I originally had this issue on 10.10.0 so I thought that it may have been a bug and updated to 10.10.1. It only started happening a few days ago, I've been running Mac OS 10.10.X since several days after launch with no issues.

The messages app on my Mac would work great with iMessages and SMS working, then today I had to update my apple id for security reasons and since then the messages app doesn't send sms anymore. Ive tried signing out and back in with the new password, restarting my computer, and even a few things in the settings of my iPhone 6+ and nothing seems to work. I have a 2011 MacBook Pro 15 inch, and the Messages application has been installed and functioning well for the past year. A few hours ago, my MacBook ran out of battery and died on me. This caused a number of applications to function incorrectly, however, after a restart all of the applications EXCEPT Messages work correctly. Now whenever I start up the messages app and try to send a message to one of my contacts, their name appears in red and I receive a message that says "###-###-#### is not registered with iMessage." This occurs even though the contacts DO have iMessage and were working in the past. None of the contacts work currently.
I tried signing out of Messages, restarting my computer, restarting iMessage from my phone, deleting my plist file, but none of these seem to alleviate the issue.

It was flaky after the upgraded to 13.0.0 but resolved that with flushed caches, disk utilities, rebuilding the launch services etc, and I could still access it using Chrome.Having upgraded to 13.0.1 it is not responding to treatment. Have uninstalled Firefox completely - including all leftover files - and reinstalled: still nothing. It's running happily on Chrome under 10.6.8 so I know it's not a connectivity issue through the router.Obviiusly not the app, not the connection, only common areas are the computer itself, which seems to be running happily enough, and maybe something in OSX that has been affected?

The Apple Mail on my son's iMac 5, running OS X 10.6.8, shows the number of unread messages (9), but if I click on InBox, the messages themselves don't show up in the main window. This suddenly happened, and none of his old, read messages show up either. But he can access them just fine from his iPod, or through his Network Solutions web mail interface. Also, in Mail we can search part of his email address, and all the messages show up, read and unread! He has no rules set up. The connection doctor shows the connection is fine.

I've been using my MacBook Pro for about five months with no problems. It's equiped with VMWare Fusion, and I do most of my work there in windows. Saturday, morning, all of a sudden, I started getting the "application quit unexpectedly message" with nearly every application I tried to open in both platforms (Safari and the entry to VMWare). I haven't added any software/hardware lately, and the computer worked well Friday evening.
Any clues as to how I might resolve the situation from here would be greatly appreciated.
