OS X Mavericks :: Messages Not Working Between Devices?

Previous to 5 months ago, I had never had any problems with my iMessages working between my iPhone 5s, Macbook Pro, and iPad Mini. Now, no matter war I do I can not get my messages to work with my iPad or Macbook anymore. On the Macbook Messages app it says that my contacts are not registered with iMessage which is just not true. At one point a few months ago it randomly started working and I got all my previous messages on my Mac but after that it went back to the same problem.Â

I made a new account because it wouldn't let me log in on my old account and now it seems as if it's working but it won't send or receive ANY messages. This application used to work so I don't understand.

My Late 09 MacBook Air has been working a treat, not a spot of bother. All of a sudden, about 5 minutes ago, I've gone to go online to download some research papers (I'm *trying* to write an essay) and it won't load anything. Not even my Twitter app. It is connected to the right network, which is working absolutely fine on every other device in the house (windows computers, iphone etc). I've turned it off and on twice, the way that us clueless folk do.. now I don't know what to do.

i have a Mac Pro (Lion), MBP (Mavericks) and iPhone (iOS8).Â
does keychain simply overwrite an existing keychain password if you enter one MANUALLY from another device? i mean, say i get to a site that has data entered into keychain and i enter it manually does it save this info and pass it along to other devices?Â
ALSO, i got an error on a password when i clicked autofill on my iPhone. is there a way for me to FIX this problem in keychain from my iPhone if i know the password? i mean, can i enter the info MANUALLY somehow and have it saved and passed to other devices?Â

I'm actually running OSX 10.9.3 on a mid-2012 macbook air and I have a problem with usb devices that won't eject and stay in my device list until I restart my computer.Â
I've been having this problem for a few weeks now, and I can't understand why it's doing that.Â

I've got a 2008 Mac Pro running Snow Leopard, and there seems to be some problems with my USB "system". When I eject an external hard drive, my usb mouse and keyboard will stop working for a short while, sometimes requiring that I unplug and plug them back in. Also, when I try to set my default audio input/output device to my USB interface, it resets every single time I turn the computer on and off. Not sure if these are related, but it seemed relevant.

Earlier today, this computer stopped connecting to the internet. I am still able to connect to the local wireless and check the status of my airport extreme (current model). But, all attempts to reach the internet fail. I've tested other devices (iPad, iPhone, and my mac mini) and they are all still using the wireless to reach the internet without issue. I even tried plugging the ethernet cable from the wall directly into my macbook (no modem in use, just wall to airport extreme, as we're in an apartment building), but that does not work for the macbook pro either. I reviewed the network settings for the macbook pro and the mac mini, and noticed that the DNS settings are different between the two - the macbook pro is listing an entry for Search Domains - westell.com, but my mini is not showing any search domains in that setting. Additionally, the ipv4 addresses are fairly different between the 2 computers, as well as the subnet mask (255.255.255.0 on the macbook, 255.255.252.0 on the mini) and router settings (192.168.1.1 for the macbook, 192.168.80.1 for the mini). Not sure what I can do to force/clear these settings on the macbook or anything else to check.Â

So i cant seem to get iMessage to work across all my Apple devices. My wife and I use the same Apple ID but have different phone numbers. Is there a way to get all our messages on our shared devices and our personal messages on our phones? (iPad, iMac, MacBook Pro: Shared)

I use iMessage on my iMac, iPhone and iPad. I am signed into iMessage using the same Apple ID on all three devices. I also have the same phone numbers and email addresses activated within iMessage on each device.Â
When I send or receive messages, iMessage syncs the messages among the three devices. All good so far. But if I delete a conversation on one device, the deletion does not sync to the other two devices. So I have to manually delete the conversation from the other two devices. How to sync conversations within iMessage across devices?Â

I want to disable the syncing of settings for my mail accounts across devices. It is causing issues.Â
Right now when I set up or modify a mail account on my iMac it changes the settings on my Macbook. This isn't an iCloud account. They are my email accounts with 3rd part service providers.Â
1)Â How can I turn the sync function off?Â
2) The issue it cause is that incoming ports get changed on one of the machines without me changing anything. Then my emails stop coming in on one of the machines.

How is "access for assistive devices" enabled in OS 10.9.3? I've looked for it just about everywhere in System Preferences. A third-party utility that I use needs it to work fully—and says at startup that it is not switched on.

My sound has completely quit working. In the sound system prefs I get a massage saying "No output devices found". If I press the volums button keys the onscreen display comes up but has a 'no access' icon on it (a circle with a line through it). The icon in the toolbar has also vanished and there's just a blank space in its place.
Oddly whatever happened also seems to have effected my ability to view Flash movies -*the will play for a few seconds an then pause *they don't stutter they just pause. I think that whatever the issue is it was caused by a force shut down. All my applications were hanging so I had to press down the power button for a few seconds. Since then nothing!
This also effects the start-up sound which I don't get and all users of the machine are the same so it's not a case of deleting users prefs. So far I reinstalled the latest system using combo updater, run disk utility to repair disk/privileges (from start up disk) and zapped the PRAM.

All of the sudden the sound on my MacBook is no longer working. When I look at System Preferences>Sound>Output it says there are no devices found, even when I plug in external speakers.

I just got this new iMac that I got used and the sound on the computer does not seem to be working, I have tried doing what the computer tells me and going into System Preferences and selecting the sound option, but the sound seems to have been permanently disabled and shows that there are no output or input devices available, when clearly the monitor has speakers. whats more, is that the volume icon does not show up in the menu bar even when I select that I want it in the menu bar.

Syncing calendars between my iMac and devices continues to fail horribly.Â
It really never has functioned well from the Mountain Lion days. With Mavericks, Calendar syncing is useless. Must be rocket science!Â
If the system doesn't double everything up, it gets appointment times incorrectly.Â
Seems like Apple has determined that the iPad is Grand Lord of all calendar data—not the iMac. You can delete the data file on the iPad with SyncMac but the data is not gone. It remains in the iPad permanently waiting to take over.Â
This morning I used SyncMac to delete the data on the iPad to rid it of incorrect appointment times. Syncing again did nothing to fix the issue. Appointment times are all different and totally incorrect in the iPad compared to the correct data in the iMac.Â
I give up on the application. Print a blank calendar, have a pencil ready, and maintain your data the old fashioned way.Â
It used to just work. Not anymore and especially since iCloud which I will not use. I have no interest in giving my data to a second party in a foreign country so that they can grant me permission to access it. My clients don't agree to this arrangement. Nor do I.

I have an iMac and a macbook pro that I used to be able to share files between but ever since I moved 3 months ago I can't get it to work. Also, now my phone and my wife's phone are inseparably connected. She seems to be getting all of my text messages but I don't get hers. We also bought new computers right before we moved so that might have something to do with it. Both computers are on my account and have my name. It would be nice to get this working again - tired of walking ten feet with a flash drive to share files ....

I would like to know if apple mail is supposed to sync both signatures and rules across devices.
I recently had to create 3 signatures on 3 separate devices and am now realizing that rules don't carry over from my iMac to my MBA or MBP.Â
if they're not supposed to sync (which makes absolutely no sense) hopefully apple will fix this in yosemite.Â
finally, i will say that, while being a huge apple fan (and would never switch to a pc), i've seen apple mail become one of those neglected softwares and have steadily gone on the decline in terms of features and consistency among devices that are supposed to communicate to one another.
All my devices are using osX 10.9.3

I've seen 4-5 times where all bluetooth devices stop working all at once, and the Bluetooth configuration utility does not open, so the only solution is to shut down by pressing the power button. Sometimes, restarting once is enough to correct the problem. Other times, I have to do it again and hold down the shift key when I press the power button, and OS X sees the keypress and forces a safe restart.

I have been happily using Messages on my Mac, iPhone, and iPad for a while. Earlier this year, Messages on the Mac stopped being able to send, giving the following message:
I've tried to log out of the iMessage account, I've tried to reset accounts on the Mac, etc. All to no avail. Messages continue to work on both my iPhone and my iPad Mini (wifi only).

My messages app is not letting me sign in - it is showing up with the matching send/recieve addresses as what my iPhone is set to, but it won't sync or let me send messages and will not let me go online Â

I'm using a 2012 2.5 core i5 Mac Mini running Mac OS X 10.9.3
I recently started using Messages and for some reason, some options are grayed out and cannot be changed - starting from "buddy list" all the way to "when switching users" (see screenshot)
I must also add that I'm not using iCloud nor do I have an iPhone. I use this application on my Mac Mini only

I have started getting bounced email messages showing my main Apple ID email address is being used to send SPAM to people I don't know. Does this mean that I will have to change my main email address? If I mark them as Junk Mail, will that affect my mail?

It started occurring yesterday. I hear the notification sound but don't see the new messages in any of Mail folders. Sometimes my SpamSieve app shows a figure of messages of unknown nature, sometimes not, but nevertheless I hear the sound but don't get new messages. In Mail Preferences when moving the pointer over check-box with smith like "Enable the sound for other actions" (or whatever it sounds) a yellow commentary box briefly popped up which said that the chosen notification sound could alert about some other actions like sending a message, when neither message is received (?!!!), or there some error occurred during receiving or sort of. Is it possible to know specifically what messages couldn't make their way to my Mailbox (through Console app maybe?)?

I want to set up messages, but when I go to the prefs, the AppleID is wrong. So, I tried clicking on:
Manage Apple ID & it takes me to page in Spanish!!
I tried looking for the information via the question, How to change Apple ID in Messages, but found nothing.
Oddly, my Apple ID is correct for Support Communities, just not correct for Messages account.

Using certificates from ORC in Mavericks or iOS 7, I cannot read my sent messages. In previous versions of Mail, a copy was saved encrypted with my private key as well as the recipient's public, so that I could view and search older sent messages. After updating to some newer certificates, this feature seems to no longer work. Â
Recipients have no trouble reading the message, and as a workaround, I can BCC a copy to myself at a different account (which uses different S/MIME encryption and identity certificates from the sending account).Â
I have tried removing the older certificates and verifying the certificate preferences in the Keychain, all to no avail...
