OS X V10.7 Lion :: IMac Turns Off By Itself / Does Not Want To Turns On Late

1.- The imac turned off by it self.
2.- I tried to turned on pressing the turn on/off button and it did not do anything.
3.- I disconected the computer form the wall and wait for some minutes, and it did no do anything.
4.- After about 20 minutes i tried again and turned on by pessing the on and off button.
5.- The imac turned off again and disconected form the wall and conected to another electrical contact at the wall, adn it did not turned on. i wait for some minutes and turned on again, but after about five minutes it turned off again.
6.- I left the imac connected to the wall for a couple hours and i tried to turned onn by pessing the on/off button and it did not turned on.
7.- I left all night connected form the wall and tried to turn it on this morning and it did not turn on.
8.- This time, I only disconnected the imac cord form the back of the computer and left it for a couple of hours, then I concected and turned on
9.- All the times that the computer turned on it started like a restart and no announce or windows appear telling me about an error or something like that.
10.- One of the times I touched the computer at the back and felt it hot, not too hot, but I do not how normal is.
11.- I can feel some very, very little air at the back form the vent.
What do I hve to do? What kind of tests can I do to know if the computer's an is working ok?

This has been going on for me for the past few months on and off, it just randomly switches the screen off but everything else works perfectly, for example if im watching a video on hulu i can still hear the sound, if im doing work on word the documents are still there, iv finally gotten video footage of it. url...To turn it back on i press "ctrl + shift + eject" and then move the mouse. i have contacted Apple support on the phone they did say bring it in, just need to make an appointment. If anyone else has this problem and knows a better solution than having to keep pressing buttons to turn the screen back on please share.

I have a 3.06 GHz, 4 GB, iMac running 10.6.1. and I have a weird problem: while I was running Windows 7 under Boot Camp, during a simple task, my screen suddenly turned a solid shade of gray. Having no other option, I held the power button, turned off the computer, and turned it back on.
When I booted back to OS X, it happened again immediately upon opening iTunes. This time the color was solid black. Concerned, I turned off the computer, waited a moment and booted it back up in Safe Mode, where I currently have no problems whatsoever. From Safe Mode I repaired my disk permissions, cleared my caches, and zapped the PRAM while restarting my computer back into normal mode. Unfortunately the problem persists, this time my screen turning a solid shade of dark purple.
I'm going to call Apple Care in the morning, but has anyone heard of an issue like this? I searched the forums for a solution, but wasn't sure what terms to search for.

Came home from work the other day and my iMac (20" iMac from '07 / Snow Leopard) was frozen, did a hard restart and it booted up fine without much of a problem. Everything was running very sluggish so I began to verify the disc through utilities at which point it froze again, now whenever I restart I get stuck at a white screen with apple logo and something spinning underneath it. The longest I've let it sit at that screen is about an hour or so, it gets extremely hot though so I'm hesitant to leave it any longer.
I've tried a few suggestions already, safe mode with no luck, disc target onto my macbook with no luck and I've tried "/sbin/fsck/ -fy" at the command prompt which returns something along the lines of Harddrive can not be repaired. The most important thing to me right now is being able to access some of the files on there if it is not a total loss. I've back up about 2 months ago, so it wont be a total loss, but like I said, would prefer to salvage anything I can.

I am on a 17" macbook pro using lion and my laptop wont go to sleep. I shut the lid and the screen turns off but I hear it still going and the light in the front doesn't begin to blink like it is suppose to. I have reset the pram and the smc and its still not working

I purchased a new late 2013 27 inch iMac 3.4Ghz i5. The only thing I did after pulling it out of the box was restore Time Machine from my previous iMac. On startup the machine boots as expected, but gets interrupted by the screen turning a dark blue, and the apple logo turning bright red, for about a second or so, then boots as normal, and opens Mavericks. I've spoken to Applecare - they suggested I re-install Mavericks, which I did. The problem is still there. I've done a hardware diagnostics test - no problems. Though I wonder if it could be a faulty graphics card? As far as I'm aware there are no other issues with the iMac. The machine is under warranty but would love to solve this if possible.

The Mac Pro shuts down unexpectedly, and changed the RAM, graphics card, power supply but the problem is not over.
By taking away the power for a long time and switch it to two months without any troublelights stop after 5 days is powered down unexpectedly.

I have so far had a few instances of this phenomenon w/ my 15 mo. old Mac. First, when charging my Mac at night in off-mode, it will occasionally turn itself on at some point evidenced by the power-on when it's opened. Then,I have had one instance of a shut-down by itself during use. It restarted w/ no problem. Next, the computer turned itself on with the cover closed and the computer had been off all night. I heard it start up, so I am sure. I do have AppleCare if I need to take it in.

This has happened twice not. I'll be using my MacBook and it will have around 40-60 minutes worth of battery left, around 30% or 40%, and it will just shut off. No warning at all, it just turns off as if I've pulled the battery out. I plug it into the mains and turn it back on and it says I have at least 30% battery left. Is my battery dying?

A couple of weeks ago, out of the blue, my Ibook 12" started turning off by itself.
At first it would turn on again, I was able to check the HD with the Disk Utility, which reported a fault in the HD. Then after a few times it wouldn't turn on anymore. I couldn't hear the chimes sound and the fan (or HD) would start running pretty fast.

My airport/wireless works fine most of the time, but sometimes when I close the lid, and reopen it, my airport will not turn back on. It turns on neither automatically nor through the preference pane. The button to turn airport on is clickable, but nothing happens.
I'm new to Macs, and I like them so far. But this is getting really annoying as the only way I've found to fix it is to restart the computer.

I recently bought a new Kensington Slimtype keyboard for my PowerMac G4 (dual 867mhz); it's running Leopard and everything other than this is working beautifully. For some reason, whenever it goes to sleep, it turns the brightness down to it's lowest setting - not a huge problem, I just turn it back up. Just wondering if anyone else is having this problem and if they are, how did they rectify it?

I was sitting on the internet, when my macbook just shut off. Now when I try and start it up, it just goes on the startup screen for 15 seconds and then shuts off! I have tried like 20 times, literally, and it still won't work!

This baffles me in terms of GB's. I imported a legal DVD to burn off Mactheripper in GB that was 2.7. turning it into a VT file. I then used cinimitize 2.0 making them 3 files, 2 .mov files and 1 audio files. Turns out each segment at 40KB's, 30 segments in all. Then I import the .Mov files to Final Cut Express and when I convert the whole 2hr and 40 min movie out to a "quicktime file". After that I open up the new Final Cut Quicktime .Mov turns out to be 38GB's. I am turning it into hopefully a 30 min film, but I do not understand the math at all, and I simply dont get how a 2.4GB DVD turns into a 38GB Quicktime movie.

I have had my MacBook Pro since May 2007. It has been working fine up until a few months ago. I will have nearly full, or fully battery and the computer will turn off, and will not turn back on unless I plug the charger in. If the charger is unplugged for 5 minutes, the computer completely shuts down. So basically I cannot use the computer unless it is plugged in. It is starting to become a pain because sometimes I need it when I am in a place without an outlet.

I have just recently noticed that when I put my computer to sleep the Apple logo flashes every few seconds and that it gets out of sleep mode by itself. When I went to turn it off it quickly turned on again. It happens whether it is connected or not. I have tried a few things and this [URL] but nothing has worked. I bought this computer last December, so it's still under warranty. I cant reset the SMC because the computer does not remain turned off, when I shut it down it automatically turns on again. Also I did a hardware test, both the short and the long ones and it said that there where no problems. I am a college student and I can't afford another computer so I am a bit scared that this is going to damage it.

I have a late 2006 Macbook pro, it has problems turning on. If its cool it will turn on just fine. If its warm, you have to wait 15 minutes for the MBP to cool down. Is this a logic board issue? It seems so.

I got home to find my mac was unresponsive. I thought it had fallen to sleep so i kept pressing keys on the keyboard and clicking the mouse. Nothing happened, I tried everything. So I turned it off by holding down the power button and turned it back on. But then 10 mins later while using it, the screen just instantly turned off! The iMac was still running, it even had the music still playing in the background from iTunes, but again it was unresponsive to my commands. After 1 minute the music turned into an awful static cry for help. So i turned it off. Here i am again on the Mac after turning it back on, but i'm scared it could just go again any second.Â

I have a PowerMac G5 1.8GHZ dual core with two GB of ram. I have read some posts saying that a cannon scaner, or an HP printer can cause the computer to not go into sleep. I have one HP 5550 printer If I unplug it, and restart the computer, then try to put it to sleep, it works sometimes. It will work sometimes with out the printer disconnected as well. I went through the Firmware on start up and reset all, and that seemed to work for a while. Now it will not go to sleep. It acts like it goes to sleep, the screens turn off, and I hear the click of the Power Supply turning off, but right after that click the computer turns right back on.

The volume on my macbook pro will randomly turn itself on. The volume image shows up and it then turns all the way up and keeps clicking until I hit one of the volume buttons. But it will do it again about 30 seconds later and it keeps repeating this process for days. Shutting off the computer doesn't do anything. It does this randomly, it may not happen for months but then when it does happen it can go on for days if not weeks.

I have a 13-inch, Mid-2010 MacBook Pro running OS X Mavericks. I was using it near a bathtub, when a moderate amount of water spilled onto the keyboard. I immediately dabbed out most of it, and put it upside down for some time. It was running then, with all the keys and trackpad working fine. t turned it off, and tired turning it on after half an hour. Nothing. I decided to keep it switched off for 7 days, during which I would open the lid every now and then to find vapor on the screen from the keyboard which I would wipe and close again.
I turned it on when there was no vapor spotted for 3 days. I plugged it in after 7 days, to see that the battery status indicator was erratic. It turned on with a sound from the SuperDrive (the usual click). There was no startup chime. A few minutes later, it turned off. I decided to reset the PRAM and SMC, and I realized that I can get to my account window successfully (and type a 22 letter password) as long as I keep any key pressed throughout bootup (option, command key, etc). I have tried many times, but it just turns off with a "nik" sound. I haven't backed up, and I have about 270 GB of important data stored that I CANNOT lose.Â
It's 250GB drive crashed in December but it was replaced with a 500 GB and has been running smooth until this.Â

I found a PowerBook G4 in my closet, so I turned it on and was using it just fine, and then without warning it turned itself off. When I boot it up I can hear an internal fan running, and it keeps running the entire time the computer is turned on. I'm not sure which OS it's running. Do I need to replace the fan, or is it something worse?

I bought one LG flatron e2350V, and i'm trying to connect it to my macbook pro, it's connect through minidisplay port - dvi. When in system preferences if i choose use monitor it appears with great resolution, beautiful image. But if i choose "use identical image for both monitors" the resolution on the LG turns crap.
What should i do to have identical image (so i can have my macbookpro with lid closed) but have at the same time an awesome resolution?
