I have tried deleting the com.apple.timemachine.plist and that didn't work.Â
I've removed the share from my synology NAS and my iMac did back up once I re-enabled it but the problem came back today. Â

For some reason Time Machine has not done a backup in 3 weeks. Everything appears to be functioning properly, it indicates it has been backing up, however, it has not. It "Preparing backup...>FInishing Backup...>Cleaning Up..." in about 3 seconds, but does not copy any files.

My time machine backup isnt working for the last few months. The backup is located on a QNAP TS-670. Â
I can look for the TM and the iMac see the TM, but if I start the backup, a popup comes up. "The image of the backup-volume "/Volume/TMBackup/Danielas iMac.sparsebundle" cant be accessed. (Error -1)
Maybe it is not the exact error message in english, but I hope you know what I mean. Im working on a german system.Â
I can access the TM-Share through the finder (share: afp://[...]).Â

Ever since I upgraded to Lion my iMac freezes or nearly freezes for 5 - 10 minutes every hour while Time Machine updates the back up. What to do? I have tried everything I can think of but its only improved from total freeze while Time Machine backs up to freeze with an occasional few seconds of activity.Â

Just moved all datafiles to external disks and re-installed Lion, but now I cannot access my user account. When I started up the system after it had installed, it asked me for company name and email address, but then I cannot access my user account any more.
Do I need to re-install the system again, or how can I solve this? I don't remember what email address I used originally when I got the server and registered it, whether it was my personal or the business address, which I gave this time. Â
I do remember the login name and password that I have always used, but these don't work anymore and I have too many jobs pending this week.

I resurrected this Mac recently and I know it's old etc but Apple did keynote videos back when this machine was released didn't they? So what's changed, surely this iMac should play simple web based video like that. It just stutters and stops ,stutters vid gets blocky then I get the beachball. Some video will play fine, some wont, especially on YT etc but on Apples own site. Btw it is a 500MHz graphite G3 with 1Gb RAM, with recent fresh install of Tiger and fully upto date.

I started it up on the installer disk and tried to repair the disk with disk utility but my hard disk is not visible anymore

I am finally upgrading to icloud. I know it's been a while. So I threw in the Snow Leopard and updated it to 10.6.8 now I'm looking for Lion and all i get is that Mtn Lion is coming in July. Which is great, but I want icloud now. Where do I find Lion 10.7?Â

Since upgrading to lion I keep getting the following message The identity of the backup disk has changed since the previous backup.The disk may have been replaced or erased, or someone may be trying to trick your computer into backing up to the wrong disk. And after this the drive disappears from the desktop appearing agian only after restart. What can I do do rectify this? Delete and re-intialise the drive?

Ever since I have upgraded to Lion from Snow Leopard, sometimes MacBook Pro doesn't shutdown or restart. I choose shutdown or restart it logs me out then there is the gray screen with the turning little dotted circle and it doesn't reboot or turn off, so I have to hold the power button and manually turn it off.

my TM wil not back up! It states that this backup is too large for the backup disk. The back up disk requires 573.50 GB but only 225.23 GB are available. The TM needs work space on the backup disk, in addition to the space required to store backups. Upen TM perferences to select a LARGER backup disk or make the backup smaller by excluding file.Â
Okay I;m sorry but obvioulsy I dont get this. I've never called Apple for help! I have every product they sell practically including Protection Plans I never used and no one will help me with this. My MAC is starting to have black or white screens and i can hear it running but it will not do anything so i have to reboot it, it screws up Enturage and then I have to rebuild that ( 5 times this year) anyway... I would like to back everything up- can I delete everything on the Time Capsule or Time Machine; god I dont even know what it is called Im so MAD... help if you can please. Yesterday I installed the latest update of iPhoto 9.2.3 on my MacBook pro running 10.7.3 To my surprise I cannot access iPhoto anymore and get the error log (as hereunder) and the warning that I may have to reinstall the application. I live quite remote and have to drive 1,5 hours to the nearest Apple store and i feel that I should be able to solve this.for now I do not understand how to reinstall if all software was updated.Â

I've used to play .sdp files on Quicktime Player 10.0 on Snow Leopard.
After I've updated to Lion, Quictime Player got updated to 10.1 and it no longer recognizes .sdp files. It gives an error message with "Quicktime Player cannot open files in the "OpenOffice.org 1.0 Presentation" format."Â
The same sdp file plays well on Windows version of QuickTime Player, and if I boot to Snow Leopard, it works on QT Player 10.0. Is there a way to fix this problem and let the QuickTime Player recognize the .sdp files again?Â
