OS X V10.7 Lion :: Upgrade To 10.7 Requires Snow Leopard?
Mar 10, 2012
I'm thinking of upgrading to 10.7 from 10.6.8 on my iMac, but on this site I get:Step 2: Make sure you have the latest version of Snow Leopard.Get up to date with the latest version of OS X Snow Leopard to purchase OS X Lion from the Mac App Store. If you have Snow Leopard, click the Apple icon and choose Software Update to install Snow Leopard v10.6.8, the latest version. What is Snow Leopard? Do I have it? I already have 10.6.8, but that's a Lion version, right?
I have an iMac with Mac OSX 10.6.8 and 2.4 GH2 Intel Core 2 Duo processor.I want to upgrade to Lion so that I can use iCloud to share documents with my iPad.Do I have to upgrade to Snow Leopard first or can I upgrade directly to Lion?
I have noticed in the last week or so that when I type in the just the name of a company or web site into the Safari url line, I am now taken to a search page and not to the company in question. The URL line now requires a .com or whatever to actually go to the site. Â
I have read on apple news that apple is offering free software upgrade for leopard to snow leopard.. is that true? I followed their link and nothing is available?
I am currently running Snow Leopard on my MacbookPro 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB memory. Will Lion run well on my system? The major programs I run are Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.
Currently working on a mobile lab of 25 Macbooks(10.6.8) and a USB printer. (Users connect the cable when they need to print)(no matter what printer I connect)
Every time any user(even admin) prints, it requires a local admin or network admin user/pass to print.
I have Windows 7 running in a bootcamp partitiion with Snow Leopard on my iMac. If I upgrade to Lion, will the partition be left alone and function as before? I cannot lose appliations and data stored in Windows in the bootcamp partition.

I upgraded from OSX 10.4.11 to Snow Leopard (single license) on one of my two iMacs, and then installed Lion. Is my Snow Leopard disk now liberated to make the pre-Lion upgrade on the second computer, since it is no longer operating on the first one? All of the hardware meets the upgrade requirements.
Ive recently purchased an iPhone 4s and wish to use the iCloud.I found out i had to upgrade my iMac from Snow Leopard to Lion in order to connect via iCloud. But now i have purchased Lion, it wont allow me to install. Its showing a message of "Recovery system cannot be created" and i cant find any solutions. i want to upgrade my snow leopard to lion without losing any data, application, or others, i don't have external hard disk so is there any way to do it without backing up?
I have been wanting to buy a Mac Mini, but the one I want is a refurbished June 2010 model and comes with Snow Leopard Server. Is there any way I can upgrade to the non server version of Lion? I will not be using any server features, and to the best of my knowledge, the Mac Mini server does not have any hardware that does not come with the regular Mac Mini, other than the 2nd HDD.
I search the way to upgrade my mac OS X Snow Leopard to mac OS X Lion with using redeem code. Where should I send mail to confirme my macbook pro (4th generation) information?
I have always backed up all of my important data on to external Hard Drives/CD's/DVD's etc manually however to make life easier, I have now decided to start using Time Machine (should have done so a long time ago I know). I am also about to upgrade my iMac from Snow Leopard to Lion. My question is, should I perform a Time Machine back up before the upgrade or would it make sense to upgrade to Lion first & then perform the Time Machine back up.Â
The only advantage I can see by running Time Machine before the upgrade is in case there is an error/corruption in the upgrade process but having never used TM
