OS X V10.7 Lion :: Word Was Unable To Open Data Source
Jun 28, 2012
I am trying to do a mail merge on my Macbook, using Microsoft Word for Mac 2011. I get as far as choosing the data source, however, a pop-up appears saying, "Word was unable to open data source." I cannot get past this point.
Info:
MacBook (13-inch Aluminum Late 2008), Mac OS X (10.7.4)
I'm unable to open my Office Word for Mac. The message say's check with developer to make sure Microsoft Word works with this version of Mac OS X.Originally I downloaded OFFICE from the Apple Store App, so unable to reinstall as it suggest.
I have a document I do not recognize, cannot move, cannot trash and cannot open on my desktop. It appeared a few days ago. It is labelled 2CC4D500 and the icon is a Word icon.
When I'm trying to capture on my iMac using FCP7 through a Canon XL1 I get this message: "Capture encountered a problem reading the data on your source tape". Now I know it's not the tape as when I use my iBook to capture (fcp5) it's fine. I know I could use the iBook but I've been having problems with it in other forms so I can't rely on that working forwver and once/when it dies, I'll be stuck. I've tried all the usuals: rebooting, different cam to transfer, different cables, re-instaling FCP and I'm still scratching my head.
I upgraded my operating system to Lion without realizing that it would instantly render all of my MS Office files for Mac useless. How do I resolve this? Do I need to downgrade my operating system to Snow Leopard or is there another way to get my files back and be back at work?
I just downloaded OS X Lion and it says Ican't open the application Microsoft Word as Power PC applications (?) are no longer supported. I badly need my word docs!
I downloaded Lion last night only to discover I can't open my word documents anymore. My original office software for Mac is packed away somewhere (haven't had to use those install disks for a few years and probably won't work with Lion anyway?).
I just tried to open Word and this message appeared - 'You can't open the application Microsoft Word because PowerPC applications are no longer supported.' I just recently loaded OS X Lion does this mean my software for MS Office is now out of date? Do I have to purchase a new package?
I downloaded Lion onto my Mac, and now cannot open or access any of my Microsoft word documents or Power Points. Is there a fix for this? I need my documents.
i'm using mac os x 10.7.4 and have Office 2011. i can no longer open older documents (.doc) created with Microsoft Word 97... What can i do to get access to these files?
Used to use Microsoft 2000 Word Processor on Dell Laptop. My iMac is 2 weeks old and documents have successfully been transferred from the Dell to Mac via Maxtor external hard drive. How can I open the Word Processing documents - NOT to use, but to read. WPS is the extension. There is plenty of discussion on MS Word, but not MS Word Processor
I'm interested in running a Darwin OS, basically just the open source parts of Mac OS X. There isn't a whole lot of recent information that I've been able to find on my own. Seems like most sources top out at Darwin 8.
I've been using Macs all my life, but it was only with Linux and also once I got into web development that I learned the art of getting help from strangers for your software. Of course, this was for free, open-source software, so I know the ropes of that quite well. Parallels is giving me problems. It seems to be somewhat "disconnected" from my system: Networking is down, and the resolution doesn't adjust with the window's dimensions. What's the best way to get support for software that isn't built around a community? I expect the Parallels guys to show me the door, as I'm not using the most recent version (seems they release two new versions every year...).
I'm wondering where to go to find the lastest things like emacs, python distributions, apache, etc. There used to be a bunch of them on apple.com but they keep moving things around and I'm having trouble finding them.
Info: G4 mac mini, unibody macbook pro, core duo mini(2), iphone 4, ipad, ipod(2), Mac OS X (10.7), numerous other linux boxes
I have a MacBook. Last week I bought Microsoft Office for Mac. I would like to open documents sent in Word to be opened in Word. But my mac converts them to Pages.
Info: MacBook, Mac OS X (10.7.4), Microsoft Office for Mac
I received an e-mail attachment file from a trusted source, type .xfdl. Tried to open but was denied the reason was "this type of file may contain spam or a virus". I know the file has already been read by several individuals who said no spam or virus detected.
I don't get any error message, just a blank page showing nothing. I don't get no time-out message or anything. I have Mac OS 10.5.8 and Safari 5.0.2 and I have tried deleting the cookies and resetting the cache.
Besides I also noticed that while trying to load [URL] the page won't load but I can see the source code.
