OS X V10.7 Lion :: Send Mail From Preview Keeps Asking For Password?
Apr 26, 2012
I have the following problem: when I have opened e.g. a pdf or picture in the Preview application, and select "eMail PDF as attachment", the mail application opens, but asks me for the password for my 2 mail accounts (although they are saved in keychain)Â
- when I enter the password it is accepted
- when I enter the password and check the checkbox for saving it in keychain it is not accepted!? (therefore maybe a conflict with keychain)
- when I have already opened mail, no password is asked (so in this case it works)
- when I try to send a mail from any other application (e.g. office), no password is askedÂ
I tried already:Â
- repair permissions
- keychain first aid
[URL]
- lion recoveryÂ
I suspect a problem between Preview.app and keychain, but don't know where to look anymore?
Mail is making me mad I'm sure about all settings like SMTP, and other details are right. There is no problem to get email, but when I try to send it keeps asking password! and not sending! Can it be something about security settings or anything else? I'm pretty new at mac, I dont know many details.
mail will not send and continuously asks for password and rejects last documented password change. I cannot send mail only receive it on the MacBookPro BUT...I can get web mail and use send on iphone...mail cannot be received on iphone now.Â
Info: MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8), mail rejects all possible passwords
hundred hour old iMac. Had memory added second day: now I get asked for password to SEND mail and when I restart safari.HOW obnoxious do you think that is?Anyone know what to do? I searched and found keychain access- and made some changes- yet it persists.
Is there a way to have a different mail password instead of using the one that you use to login to Lion directly? Currently the two are the same login password = mail password.I'd like to have a different password for the two.Is this possible whether via command line or otherwise?

In the same time I also try to use office mac (outlook) is same receive is ok, cannot send out.Â
The questions what happend on mail or outlook on MacbookPro? Since iPad, iPhone can using mail (receive, send) is normal.Â

My Mac Mail, which is connected to my Yahoo Small Business email has stopped sending mail. It says something like the server is not responding. I have tried changing Ports but nothing works.
My mail has stopped being able to receive email from yahoo. Everything is set up properly and it was working fine up until a couple of days ago. Mail seems to have problems connecting to the server.I can receive but not send. When I use the connectivity doctor it stays for ages trying to connect to the yahoo server, sometimes it connects after a few minutes, sometimes it doesn't connect at all. I have no problems sending or receiving emails from my ipod, other computers or yahoo itself, the only problem is with Mail.
Is there any way to not have apple mail display the message content in the preview pane when I right-click on the image in the list? I want to mark certain messages as Junk Mail manually, but cannot do so without the message being loaded into the preview pane.
I've been having a lot of fun with Preview's signature scanner, and was wondering if it's at all possible to make this kind of signature a default signature in Mail.
Have checked, rechecked, deleted, recreated, rebuilt, and did the ancient ritual of the chicken dance, but am always greeted with the Cannot send message using the server smtp.covad.net. Been through all the "resolutions" that I have come across, to no avail. This began two days ago.Â
I am also unable to send via my iPhone 4 (running iOS 5.1). I can send via the webmail interface for Covad, and the Connection Doctor generates all green.  Â

I have created a new distribution list (contact group) in Address Book. I have tried selecting "Send email to 'group name'" from the contextual menu. The mail window that opens does not have the To/CC/Bcc fields populated at all.I have also tried typing the name of the group in the To/CC/Bcc fields within a new Mail message. The group is recognized, as it shows up in the dropdown, but the fields remain empty once the group name is selected.
using certificates to send encrypted emails from the Mail app. However, it's outdated and no longer supported by Apple. Do you guys know if 10.7.3 works the same way? Basically, I want to use a secure certificate to encrypt my outgoing email messages. I'm running 10.7.3.Â
So I been trying for awhile to get my school email to work with the mac mail client and finally got it to recieve but it won't send. How do I change smtp to pop for outgoing mail?
I've tried the various fixes, including Java prefs, restarting mail and computer, re-installing Java....but still can't see the mail attachments. I send or receive. I get the "missing plug in" message...
Up until today my MAIL app in my iMac let me use an email address that is from the AOL.com group (netscape.net)…I cannot send emails now because I can't get the computer to connect to the server. My iPad will….but not the desktop. I tried using a different server name; smtp.nestcape.net, which is the one I used in the iPad…but the iMac won't let me change it to that one..so back to the old smtp.aol.com……Still my MAIL app is not recognizing this or letting me connect!?!. I tried creating a new password at the wedpage of that email account.. successfully..but it has made no difference. I am stumped and have wasted half the day trying to deal with this.

It can receive them, but i can't fwd or send a new email, when i do it's just a still image? This only started happening when i'm updated to Mavericks.Â
I cannot send mail from my iMac today even though I was able to do it yesterday. I am on Mountain Lion. The Connection Doctor says that one of the SMTP servers of all those I have used in the past is connected. (The "light" is green.) I suspect there is something wrong in the Mail Preferences, but I don't know where to start to fix this problem. When I tried troubleshooting a related mail problem a few weeks ago, I received an error message saying that more than one account was attached to that SMTP server. Where I should start?

When I am not connected to the web if I am composing a message and hit send button Mail does not save the message, and just tells me that It could not be sent and discards it.
I am trying to send a 2 MB jpg file. My recipient consistently gets a thumbnail, JPEG file. This has never happened to me before. What must I do to send a full resolution jpg photo?
Info: MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.4), Mail 5.2 (1278)
Bit of a strange one to describe this, but I tried to send a message to a lot of recipients and it wouldn't send (I used the wrong server). Now I have an error message that falls off the bottom of the screen and I can't clear it.
I am unable to send mail. I have a verizon.net account. Incoming mail is fine, just cannot respond or send messages from this account. It gives me this message: "Sender address was rejected by the server".
Connection doctor responded: Outgoing.verizon.net connection to server succeeded. No login necessary.
