Jun 29, 2012Mail on both my iMac and Air will not take any accounts online. Ive tried repairing permissions, creating a new mail account, and creating a new user account but to no avail. I get no error messages, and all the information for all the accounts are correct it just simply displays the triangle exlaimation but clicking on it, clicking "Take accounts online..." and clicking on the "Get Mail" button do absolutely nothing.Im on OS X Lion with all the latest updates.

Feb 5, 2012I had a problem in my Lion OS in MBA (Mid2011). I did not back up the system with time machine. So I decided to reinstall lion online. I restarted the MBA. holding command+R. It goes to the Recovery. I erased all of my Hard disc(ssd). I am using a wifi Internet. Then I clicked on the reinstall lion. It started downloading. The remaining time is 400 hours. I have a connection Problem, it goes off every 12 hours. The problem is: will it download the rest of the lion OS or it will start from the beginning when the connection of wifi goes off?

Mar 31, 2012I got my mail accounts set-up on Mail 5.2 and it's working properly in that I can send and receive mail from three different IMAP accounts. The only problem is that sent mail items are not showing up when I login online to access my mail. I would like everything on my desktop mail account to be exactly the same as what I see online as far as read messages, unread messages and of course, the sent items that I have sent should be logged on the original mail account as well as on my computer.Â
I have already enabled "store sent messages on the server."

May 23, 2012I have two computers, one running Snow Leopard, and the other running Lion. Meanwhile, I have a 2Wire Modem supplying me with my internet. On the Snow Leopard Mac, I simply go into system preferences like usual, select my network, and enter the password and everything is great. On the Lion computer however, no matter how many times I enter the password, or how closely I stare at the screen wishing for it to work, it tells me "Connection Timeout" as if I've entered the wrong password, despite the fact that I've entered and checked it more than 7 times now. Trying to see what the difference between the two machines was, I opened the Wi-Fi prompt for both and found this, while the Snow Leopard computer says "The Wi-Fi network "My_Network_Name" requires a WPA password." the Lion computer specifies WPA2. Could the Lion computer think the router is using the wrong security type?

Apr 26, 2012I have recently begun to use a fios router for my home network. When originally set up by fios they set the security to wep, and I set my network prefences as such. Since then I have changed the router to wpa security My network prefences still shows that wep encryption is being used. It still connects to the net but I can't figure out how to change it to reflect wpa security. Or since I am connecting to the net , is it necessary.

May 10, 2012Update 2012-002 on macbook pro. When rebooting,after 'successful' install, I now see a repeating cycle of Error = 19, unable to mount root. From my *nix perspective I fear the worst - that the boot sector (at a minimum) is hosed. I tried (running Lion 10.7.x) booting with the command key down - no joy. do not currently have my install disk (sadly, it's in storage, somewhere). I'm concerned about this. this is VERY unusual for an update. This is a relatively new drive (750GB drive installed about 8 months ago). At no point have I seen errors, and believe me, I look. Assuming the worst case is repartitioning? (ah for hte days of 'fdisk /mbr')

May 19, 2012I've just discovered that I can't access the Firewall tab in the Security & Privacy settings pane. I click on it, but nothing happens. I'm pretty sure that I was able to do this before and turn my firewall on - I get asked sometimes if I can allow an app to receive incoming connections.

I would look at Mobile Me but I have circa 50GB of photo's and video's to back up and so there is not enough space.
I have had a look at IDrive which gives 150GB for $5 a month however i'm not sure whether it would affect Time Capsule as it also appears to back up files that have changed.
