How do I restore scroll bar arrows in Lion? Â In my audio editing app I sometimes like to use the scroll bar arrows for small movement. For some reason, Lion no longer seems to offer scroll bar arrows.

I have to say that switching to Lion has not been the joy I was led to believe. One of the most annoying of the many annoying quirks of Lion is that the right hand Scroll Bar no longer has Up/Down arrows, just a stupid and hard to see gray bar of varying length, and controlling it is a nightmare. Does anyone know anything about how to add Up/Down arrows to the scroll bars? Is there some setting. Apple, if you're listening, please restore this essential function to your OS. The lack of Up/Down arrows in the scroll bar makes Lion more like an alley cat.

After installing SL yesterday on my iMac, after a few hours, my right/down arrows began "activating" and repeating. At first I thought it was only happening in Finder, but it just came out of sleep while in Safari and was repeating the Submarine echo like crazy. I've restarted and also unplugged the keyboard thinking maybe it just some random error, but nothing. The only "cure" seems to be actually tapping the down/right arrow keys while the glitch is happening.
UPDATE: I'm in the middle of re-installing snow leopard and I used a hot corner to turn the monitor off and about 10 seconds in, the repeating key began again and monitor popped back on. wtf?!
Where are the up/down scroll arrows in Mail? This Lion transition is turning into a nightmare of inconvenientes! Who removes up/down scroll arrows?Â

I have turned off Restore Windows in Lion, but everytime I start up it opens apps I have shut down.I find this function is not useful. I would rather have a manual restore that I can call when I want.Sort of like the Go to Recent Folders menu.

In the OS7 Mail Inbox window, along the top of the message section with from and date and subject, there is a little box with two opposing arrows. What is this for?

There used to be arrows on the side for me to scroll up and down. I'm workinig in Word 2008 with Lion. All the scroll bar has is the double arrows which will give you the "previous," or "next page."I don't want the next page, I want to be able to scroll line by line.I DO have a scroll bar, just not the single arrows that let you scroll line by line.I also don't want to move the curser by using the arrows because many time I want to keep my place.

I have lost my contacts. I can see them in TM, but they will not restore using the standard procedure. Restoring from iCloud is not an option. I understand that in Snow Leopard it was necessary to go to the following folder in Finder "/users/username/library/application support/address book. start address book " - and restore that folder in TM. However, that folder does not exist in Lion. How do I restore contacts using TM?

View 6 Replies View RelatedJust got a new Mini with Mavericks. In setting it up I notice that applications like Preview and Safari, and probably others, do not have the scroll arrows at the top and bottom of the scroll bar. Is this something new with Mavericks, I've been using Snow Leopard for the past 5 years.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy old iMac G5 PowerPC finally had its day -- the logic board died on me. Instead of spending $900 on a new logic board, I decided to purchase a new intel based iMac.
I used Time Machine to back up my data on my G5. I obviously want this data on my new iMac. However -- I don't want the old applications (like iLife 06, etc etc.). I would obviously like to keep the new applications (like iLife 09).
So I guess my question is this: If I do a full restore, does that only do my files or does it include all my apps from my G5?
If it includes the apps, is there a way to do a piece meal restore to only get the files I want (music, photos, videos and documents)?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if there is a way to choose options using keyboard arrows. For example, when Finder asks me whether I want to open a downloaded file from the internet, and I want to say "No", I want to be able to press left and press enter and that'll be it. Instead, I have to use my mouse to click on No.
Is there a way to do this? I went to System Prefs, Keyboards, and clicked on All Controls, but that wasn't the solution.
How do I create the navigation arrows top and bottom of the scroll bar? They have disappeared, and the "slider" is not sensitive enough.

I just noticed that I have a strange new icon in my Leopard-menubar. It has two circular arrows. If I click on it, it displays three choice: "Never Synchronized .Mac", "Synchronize now" and "Open .Mac Sync Preferences". If I click "Sync now", the arrows rotate for a while, and nothing seems to happen. In Activity Monitor "SyncServer" works for a while, and the goes back to sleep. It seems that the icon is related to .Mac. I'm not a .Mac-subsriber and I have never touched any of the related, and I have no idea where that icon came from. And I have no idea how to get rid of it.
