In address book, all that appears is the persons name + photo. If i want to view other details (phone no. / address etc) i have to 'double click' on the name which then opens up a separate window. How do i get ALL info to appear under the name & photo?

Is there a way to embed a caption into an image file using Preview, or by using the Get Info box? Get Info can read captions already embedded, e.g. using Photoshop, but is there a way I can put in a caption without spending $$$ to buy Photoshop?Â

I file has appeared on my desktop. I believe it's a temp file created while downloading something in Safari. When I try to delete it, I get "The item x can't be moved to the trash because it can't be deleted". I tried right click > Get Info, and nothing happens (the info dialog does not appear). I tried ls -al on my desktop, and the file doesn't appear in the list.

I am using a Mac Mini (mid-2011) running Lion Server 10.7.4. I have noticed lately that when I check files the Sharing & Permissions portion using Get Info on my files I find that there are two lines for each user on my computer. The first set of lines says Read & Write which I actually selected. The second set of lines says Custom. When I check I have the list Read & Write, Read, Custom. When I try to change Custom I cam select new option No Privileges Info. For the other users I am able to delete the extra line once I select No Privileges Info.
However even though I have more than one line I cannot delete the extra line for the main user. I will try and delete the extra line for the main user logged in as someone else that has what I have defined as admin privileges (reason I have more than one user). This really concerns me because this issue is causing problems with me adding or removing files as needed in the terminal. When I try I get this funky error:
"Dubious permissions on file (skipping): filename with duplicate entries for a user."
This is happening more and more even though I am not changing the file permissions that I am aware of.

My password to a certain site changed, and Safari wouldn't remember the new password; it maintained the old one. So I went in to Safari preferences and removed the site from the list. Now, I can't get Safari to remember the username or the password. I exited Safari and went back to the site again, but the login boxes were empty. How to correct this?

I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 on my iMac. I also have iPhoto as it came with the iMac when I bought it. Since upgrading to Lion I can't access my photos in iPhoto. The folder is greyed out in my Applications folder. Could it be to do with my version of iPhoto (8.1.2)? If I spend more money and upgrade it will my photos then still be in the folder on my iMac?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am looking for web photo gallery software that will automate the creation of a web site. I searched the web, and could find anything that worked right. I tried the Photoshop option for this, but it does not make a nested site.I wanted to try the Dreamweaver option for this, but it is not available in CS6 now. I simply want to be able to drag a series of folders (full of images) into an empty home page, and have the software make an index.htm home page that contains links (using the folder names) to other new automatically created pages, which the software makes using the folder names, and which contain links to the images in those folders. Yes, I can build such a thing manually, but I want an automated way to do it, since I will have to do it again and again with different folder sets.Â

My Photobooth that was built into my Macbook Pro and it was working perfectly at first. I got my Macbook for christmas, it was brand new and one day the backdrops stopped working for some reason. I will use a back drop and get out the frame as it tells you to do and it will say background detected straight away. They when I step back into the frame it will not detect me? It just has the backdrop of what have chosen and no me? I have had a plain background behind me, no mirrors and relective stuff around me, I just want to know how I can get the backdrops back to normal.

So, my problem is very simple. I like organizing my things by tagging them. I like photos. I have a lot of photos that I took in 2 different external drivers. I can't combine those two. I can't put all of my pictures in my laptop. I want to organize those pictures. I want to put an driver in my usb and the app/software just organizes the pictures from that driver, than, when I plug in another driver, I want the pictures from the last driver out and the pictures from the connected driver in.

I'm using automator to monitor a folder and, when changed, import the photos into Aperture. It works in that the script kicks in when pictures are added, but it stops at importing one file.Â
It's a simple workflow - I have it ask for confirmation then after I hit "OK" the import function starts. Problem is that it stops after it imports one file. What more information do you need to diagnose?Â
