Every time I search for anything, a floating banner appears in the lower part of my search. Sometimes I close the banner, but another one appears and I also have a message in each page that said : "This page as insecure content, Load anyway or don't load (recommended)", even though I always said "Don't Load" it keeps appearing...

I am having a problem where my mail App is not searching the entire body of the message any more. I installed Lion soon after it was released, and I believe that it has been working up until recently.Â
If I do a search, it won't search the message body, and gives me no option to search for "Message contains" (just "People" and "Subjects"). If search for subject "foo" and then click on the "Subject" pull down menu, it shows "Subject" and "Entire Message", but "Entire Message" is greyed out.Â
I've done a lot of web searching and most people with similar problems had problems with Spotlight. If I do a Spotlight search, it does find all of the mail messages correctly. Its just the Mail app that won't let me search.Â
I haven't tried re-indexing spotlight yet because spotlight seems to be working okay. Note that all of my mail accounts are "POP" accounts with the mail stored locally on my machine.Â

Prior to Lion, if I clicked on my Dashboard, my widgets would all appear "floating" on the desktop. Post-Lion, if I click on Dashboard, my widgets appear on a separate screen with a blank background. Is there any way to get the widgets back to "floating" on the desktop. (I'm sure floating is not the technical term.) I don't have a ton of widgets -- just the basics. I need the calculator widget to appear on the desktop so I can use it when looking at a spreadsheet. (It's not an urgent issue, except that I am working on my taxes -- and it would make life easier.) I am very new to Lion, installed only a couple weeks ago. Running Lion 10.7.3

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using a PowerPC G5 dual 2GHz with OS X V10.5.8 with all updates installed that have been released as of this date. I've looked at a number of other topics here and elsewhere and have tried a number of ways to get this to work:
I tried using Onyx and one or two other system tools that offer the ability to rebuild the Spotlight indexes. (I've made sure that Spotlight is enabled on the volume where my mail folders live, of course.)
I've also tried that from a Terminal window:
<p> <code>$ sudo mdutil -E</code>.
I tried the following command to force the mail message files to be reimported: <p><code>$ mdimport -r /System/Library/Spotlight/Mail.mdimporter</code>
...all to no effect. And repairing permissions and then repeating any of the above doesn't help.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using the Mail (5.2) app in OS 10.7. I have my Inbox sorted by decending date, i.e. newest mail at the top. When I delete a message, Mail currently selects the message above, i.e. the one that had arrived after the deleted one chronologically. Since I work through my emails from newest to latest (usually), I will already have seen the newer mesage. What I want to see is the next message on the list, i.e. the next one, which arrive before the deleted one. My question there is: How can I advance to the previous message rather than the next one (chronologically) after deleting a message?

I set up my gmail account in Mail and love it. My question is regarding the IMAP folders. In the attached image you'll see that one of the IMAP accounts has over 400 messages, but I only have 18 in my inbox itself.
Is there a way to hide or remove the unread message count from the IMAP folder in the drawer?
I just installed the latest SW update...I think it included a security update. After I rebooted I lost the ability to use the "Entire Message" search in Apple Mail.I double checked my spotlight settings and the mail icon is checked and the privacy tab had nothing in it.Â

I seem to be having a hell of a time with all google related things. About 50% of the time I can't get to the google search page and get the error message Safari can't open the page [URL] because Safari can't connect to the server. When I am able to get into gmail, I am constantly being disconnected from gchat, like every 5 minutes. When it disconnects, it will try to reconnect, most of the time unsuccessfully. I then get the error message, unable to reach gmail please check your internet connection. This happens no matter what browser I use. However, when I try to connect from my husband's PC (same network), everything is fine. I've tried emptying my safari cache, tried uninstalling and re-installing both safari and firefox, and I am out of ideas. Any ideas about what is going on, and how I might fix this issue. I searched through the google help, and there were similar problems posted (none recently), but no answers on how to solve the issue. This has been going on for about a week now, and it's driving me up a wall.

Cursor to the right, page moves left, cursor up, page down. While his entire bottom was on about half of the keyboard, he seemed to be mostly on the volume key, because I could hear the blip, blip, sound that key makes.

Everything was normal (except for the screen which is screwed up in the bottom half. But suddenly now as soon as it boots up, it doesn't show the apple logo, but shows a blue screen with a yellow satellite kinda looking graphic, floating around. I can hold the shift button and boot into safe-mode, but I have no clue of what to do, as I don't know what went wrong.

I have a 20'' iMac with a 2.4GHz Core 2 and an HD2600XT.
There are light vertical wavy floating lines visible on the screen when running Windows XP. They are more clearly seen when you look the screen at an angle, from down below you look upwards to the screen. The floating lines can be precisely seen on grey backgrounds. These lines are not noticable much, but when you closely look with grey backgrounds, they are visible.
The problem is very strange because I've tried updating the drivers to my HD2600XT, and no luck at all.
I'm not able to determine wether the problem is hardware of software related, due to the problem not existing in Mac OS X.
can i make the actual box transparent so the buttons and the user profiles are sill there but floating, like everything will be there but that white/grayish box that surrounds everything wont be?

Freeware would be the greatest, but i dont mind paying a modest shareware fee. I have and use Appleworks still, which has the handy feature by Option-Clicking anywhere you want the floating text, but am looking for something a little more future proof.
I downloaded Bean and iText Express, but I could not find that sweet feature in those apps.

I am unable to use the search window on the right to get results when Google is selected as the search engine.I type in a search term and I am directed to a blank google search page. I have to type in the search term again, then I see a list of "hits". But when
I click on one of these hits I am not directed to the URL displayed. I have quit out of Safari and relaunched. I have rebooted my Mac. Neither changes the problem... This is a Google problem: I have the same symptoms when I use Safari on Windows XP. When I switch the search engine to Bing, the problems go away, for both platforms Has Google been hacked? Is this a Google attack on Safari?  How can I enter GoGoDuck as a search engine choice? Â
