My Safari has been cutting out a lot lately. As in, a lot lately, about every ten to fifteen minutes. It says that .NaturpicDReal.tmp plugin. has quit. Can I load another plugin to do the job?

My iMac 2.66 running 10.6.8 runs fine. But when I restart or boot up from shutdown, it takes a good 10 - 15 minutes of blank gray screen to reach the gray apple. Once there, it goes quickly to the login screen and all is well again.
Having searched these discussions, I've tried the following with no success:
- Safe Boot
- Deleted from Login Items
- Zapped the PRAM (possible clue: I can only do it once; when I continue to hold down the keys for an additional 2 minutes or so, nothing more happens after that first Zap. PRAM battery problem?)

I just purchased my mac book pro on the 18th of may from an apple store, brand new. I decided to upgrade the RAM myself since it is a much better deal, however once I replaced the RAM my computer began to run much slower and it began crashing (showing a gray window that says "please restart your computer" in many different languages) so i restarted my computer and the problem continues, after 12min of running that window appears. I replaced the RAM with the original and the problem still continued. I have run normal hardware tests and extended hardware tests as well as PRAM reset and still nothing changed. Does anyone have any idea what is going on? I'm totally lost on what is going on with my brandnew macbook pro!I should also add, I have been running the extended hardware test multiple times to see if it will crash during that and after 1hr it hasnt crashed yet.

I've been trying to install various builds of snow leopard on my mac pro with no success (latest is 10a380). I start the installer, choose an install partition, click on 'install', the install window comes up, telling me the installation should take 'around 45 minutes'.
It copies a load of files to the hard drive, then about five minutes later the machine re-starts, and I am dumped back into my normal leopard installation. If I look at the discs I'm installing to I see a 'Mac OS X. install data' folder containing a lot of .pkgs, and that's as far as it ever progresses.
I've tried booting up directly from the install DVD, and this never works either: it always dumps me back into my normal leopard installation.All the disks I've been trying to install to are GUID formatted, permissions repaired, etc.Anyone got any ideas what can be going on?
My iMac takes 3 minutes after logging in, until it allows any inputs. Stays stuck on the desktop, none of the hot corners work, nor does the dock allow inputs for about 3 minutes. I checked the Console immediately after it allows me to, and theres a bunch of stuff on the IOkit that seems to be the culprit.
View 5 Replies View RelatedHave my iMac since March and absolutely no problem. Installed Snow Leopard this weekend and worked just perfect UNTIL I turned the machine off. The next day restarted my computer and now takes about 2 minutes to boot up/then when screen comes up it is frozen for about another 2-3 minutes before can start using it. So basically, takes about 5 minutes from start up to being able to use my iMac. Spent an hour on phone with Apple on Monday night--they really tried--but couldn't fix it and now want me to bring to local Apple authorize dealer to work on it. Called them and they think it is the hard drive going out. But just doesn't make sense---worked just fine until I loaded 10.6 and then turned off machine. Before I bring it in and have them open it up and fool with the internal hard drive---DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEA'S WHAT IS HOLDING UP THE STARTUP.
View 4 Replies View RelatedA few days ago, I found my macbook running slow. The starting time used to be 2+ min but slow down to 10+ min. I tried to reinstal by installation DVD but the time bar showed 5+ hours required. I restarted the macbook and tried to format the HD, after proper steps taken, the time bar showed 17 days. Instead booting from the system, I tried to boot direct from my installation DVD.
After formatted the HD and re-instal the system, the MacBook seems running smooth again. But after installation of other programs, the same problem recurred. The system was getting slow. Re-starting it required waiting over 10 minutes. I tried to re-format the HD and installed the system again but still doesn't work. Under the disk utility "first aid" scanning through the HD, it showed "Invalid key length." and "The volume Macintosh HD could not be verified completely."

I just installed Snow Leopard on my iMac and have experienced an ethernet problem with Safari, Firefox, Mail and Thunderbird; these applications work for about 1 hr. and then the applications will lose the ethernet connection even though System Preferences/Network shows that ethernet is connected. However, Skype works (no connection loss) while the aforementioned applications have lost their connections. This problem keeps recurring intermittently (approx every 1hr.
As a work-around to the problem, I go into System Preferences/Network/Configure IPv4: choose OFF in the drop-down, click on APPLY. Then in the same drop-down, select "Using DHCP", click on APPLY and wait for an IP Address to be reassigned. After this procedure, the applications that lost the ethernet connection will start functioning again. I am using a Linksys Router, DHCP with a 1 giga-bit connection, CAT5.
I downloaded the latest Safari version and when I try to install it on Snow Leopard, I get a message saying that I must have OSx 10.5.8 or later. I'm confused because I have 10.6 installed.

My Safari has been crashing regularly for the last few days. It generally happens soon after waking up the computer from sleep, but also happens randomly after 10-30 minutes use (approx - I'm not really sure). i'm having some serious problems with Safari.
i have already had to quit it 3 times today because it just wouldn't load web pages. i'm typing this in Opera now...
i can open web pages fine when i freshly open Safari, but then if i leave it for about 10 minutes, then come back and want to use it again, it's useless, and so far i haven't been able to access anything if i leave Safari open for more than 10 minutes.
i've just got the Security Update 2003-12-05 which is supposed to fix some Safari stuff... but this problem hasn't really started until yesterday.
My imac has slowed down overnight - it takes ne 2 mins just to open safari.Ive run a virus check and all that.

One example is when trying to post image files to places like E-Bay or online forums. When I click "Add image" and select the file to be added, Safari crashes with an error message. The problem is easily repeated. I thought Safari was supposed to be "Crash Proof". I actually have more problems with it now than I did before.

I have a feeling it might have something to do with Flash, as earlier today Flash itself was crashing in my browser without actually taking the whole app down with it.

how do I get my safari favorites from my powerbook (OSX leopard) to my new mbp (snow leopard)? Is there a folder that I go to & get them, then go to file import on safari?
