View 7 RepliesI cannot see what I am typing in some question box's. I am using AOL as a server. I get a black box to enter text details in to but cannot see anything whilst typing, only if I highlight the text box can I see what I have typed.

Anyone experienced this after installing Snow Leopard?
When I open a conversation I can't see what I am typing nor cannot see what I have typed when I press the Send button.
I am running Snow Leopard on a new MacBook Pro. I have noticed that often when I am typing, the cursor will jump to another location. So, I might be typing on a line and then suddenly, the cursor will jump to a line, usually above the line that I had been typing on.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'll bring up 2 application screens for comparing some data. I move them arround a bit to line up data. After a few such moves - one screen suddently vanishs (to the right or left). I bring it back by reinstating the application - but then the other screen disappears. So now I can't get the 2 screens to stay on the display at the same time. I don't know exactly what triggers the first disappearance

If I have accidently ejected it, does this mean the software is uninstalled?

i have a 13 inch macbook pro running 10.6. Every so often (a few times a day) my mouse cursor will disappear off my screen. It still works because things are hilighted on the screen and I can still click things when i move the trackpad around with my finger, there is just no pointer on the screen. This only started happening this week and I have had this computer for about 7 months.

Here are direct links to the installer disk images, to save you time - even if you don't yet have a Magic mouse, you can install the software now to save time later:

I also found it interesting, how the mouse icon has changed into a Magic mouse in System Preferences:
I have a Macbook Pro, running Snow Leopard and from time to time my mousecursor just disappears. It's not while I'm typing but when i just hover over the screen. This happens especially when using iPhoto and Safara but also with some other applications. The cursor usually appears again when I move it over the dock and back into the application but it's kind of annoying.

I have bought 2 new 27" iMacs running Mavericks. I've got two problems. When opening, changing and saving JPGs in Photoshop Elements 6, the thumbnail disappears and only a generic JPG icon shows. This happens randomly. I read that PSE6 is OK on Mavericks. I don't see the problem with GIMP or Lightzone, but I would like to be able to use PSE. Second, my mouse cursor randomly disappears from the screen from time to time.

When typing my cursor will skip back and I end up typing between words.

I was just wondering if anyone has been able to assign a mouse shortcut to the show desktop expose function?
It seems to not work for me regardless of the mouse button I choose under SL
I'm using Logitech MX revolution right now on my SL machine, but the newest LCC is coming out in two weeks. I really can't stand the mouse acceleration built into Mac OSX. What's the way to disable this feature?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using a Mac Book Pro with boot camp. When using windows there is no laggy feeling. This is not a skipping movement just a slight lag that makes it barely noticable but inaccurate, very annoying. I have tried many many mice and different softwares but that FLOATING feeling is always there on the Mac side but not the Windows 7. I have been an avid fan of Mac since way back. Classic never did this. I do not remember early versions of OSX doing it but I may not been aware of it.

I have spaces assigned to my mouse buttons and one day it stopped working. I assumed my mouse button went bad until I tried another mouse. The button is assigned correctly spaces just doesn't respond to it...sometimes. Sometimes it works find. Has anyone else had this? I'm trying to narrow down if its my system or not.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo I recently got a new iMac that has Snow Leopard and I noticed that this is about the second time that my mouse cursor has gotten stuck... not stuck in location, but the image of the cursor.
I'll move over a textbox and then it changes to the I bar cursor, but then I move away and it stays that... I move over a link and it turns into the finger icon, then I move away and it's still a finger.
Still in the beginnings of diagnosing, but I do have two user accounts logged in. The other account only has a Safari window open though, nothing exciting.
My macbook pro started acting funny yesterday. The mouse became unresponsive, then started moving by itself, closing windows, and creating new folders on my desktop. It's like someone is remote controlling it. Google tells me this might be a trojan horse? It sounds similar to the problem discussed in this thread [url]...

I have this really annoying issue where my mouse will randomly double click in OS X when i didn't actually double click my mouse. I had this problem before in Leopard (with different mouse) but now it seems the problem has returned with snow leopard. has anyone else had this problem? I checked the mouse properties and there's nothing strange there. I also don't have custom drivers installed. Just default snow leopard drivers.
View 24 Replies View RelatedI have Mac Intel Base running OS 10.6.8. Finder seems to be corrupt. I have checked the system and it seems to be working properly. However, my Mouse and keyboard stop responding when I relaunch finder, and I have a very slow start up time (10 to 15 minutes till the mouse and keyboard respond). I ran Disk Warrior and got a lot of permission and file errors. Disk Warrior says they are fixed, but every time I run Disk Warrior or Disk Utility the same errors keep showing up. Trying to go to safe mode to check to see if extensions are an issue doesn't work because mouse and keyboard do not respond so I can't log in.

The dock has a quick key combo to show and hide. When it's in hide mode and my mouse hovers below (were it is located) it re-appears. How can I make it to only show and hide with my quick key combo?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI often take screenshots to explain things on the FCP X forum etc.
In FCP X, like most video editing apps, the cursor can change its appearance dramatically according to what tool you are currently using. Unfortunately taking a screenshot does not display the cursor or its appearance at that moment.
I have a workaround involving making a video of the screen and cursor using Screenflow but this is ridiculously complicated. Is there a simple way of recording the cursor's icon on a screenshot?

My cursor still changes based on the context, like hovering over a link or in a text field, but displays the wrong icon. After focusing a text field, the cursor is a reggular arrow in the text editor and turns to the text staff outside of it when it should be an arrow. I just did a fresh install of 10.6.8 on a crucial m4 - ct256m4ssd
I FOUND THAT RESIZING THE MOUSE CURSOR IN THE UNIVERSAL ACCESSS PREFERENCES temporarily restores the cursor to a size-adjusted mouse, until I do something like click in a text field.

I did some reading online, and know that the flashing question mark basically means that there's either a problem with the OS installation or the hard drive itself. I borrowed a friend's Snow Leopard installation CD (mine didn't come with the CD) to try to boot from it, but it refuses to boot from the CD.
The only keyboard bootup control that does anything so far as I can tell is the alt key (using a windows keyboard), which results a long delay while booting, followed by a blank screen with a mouse cursor. Everything else just ends up with the flashing question mark. If I try to hold C to boot from the CD, it sits there for 3-4 minutes with the occassional CD whirring sound, then ejects the CD and goes to the flashing question mark.
Being that most Macs have built-in Bluetooth connection capabilities, does anyone know a way to connect 3rd party wireless keyboards & mouses without using the Nano USB receiver? There has to be a way to do it, isn't there?
Once I have enough money saved up and can afford a wireless Apple Keyboard and Magic Mouse, I'm stuck with the GE setup that I currently have.

Just partitioned 150gb for bootcamp on my 1TB HDD. I installed XP Media Center OEM without a problem at all. I then put the snow leopard disk in and it autoexec'd and then looked like it was installing stuff. Then it went to screensaver and would not respond to keyboard or mouse input.
View 3 Replies View Related... long time reader, first time poster!! So I'm doing it. I'm switching from PC to Mac. I've been waiting for a while now and the new MacBook Pro's have convinced me. I'm buying the 13 inch this week.
However I'm slightly worried about the upgrade to Snow Leopard in September.
My question is if I buy a new MacBook Pro this week and upgrade from the current version of Leopard to Snow Leopard will it be the EXACT same as the version of Snow Leopard that ships with new MacBooks after September?
Is the upgrade just the same as the full software version available post September? Does the upgrade it just detect if you have the previous software and installs as if it were the full? Or does it just "patch" things depending on what's different from previous versions?
I can wait till after Snow Leopard is released in September 09 if it is different to Leopard upgraded to Snow Leopard.
I am using an HP Color Laserjet 3505n. Will snow leopard work with this printer?
