Was just wondering if anyone else had tried the Malware checker by etresoft? It is posted here:[URL]..What kind of experience did you have?Â
I posted this:Â I downloaded and now have run your malware checker, and it asks me if I want to Delete or Keep a file::Â
Delete file 'com.apple.CSConfigDotMacCert-mynamehere(AT symbol here)me.comSharedServices.Agent.plist' that runs program '/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Support/CSConfigD otMacCert'?Â
The first time I ran the checker and just chose Keep. It then asked a similar question and I chose Keep again. Then it checked programs, etc. I rebooted and ran it again, and go the same message. This time, I just did not answer and the script time ran out.Â
What does this mean? Do I have malware??[URL]...Has anyone else used this Malware checker/remover??

I was doing google searches yesterday, and I clicked on a link, and a site opens a whole bunch of pop up windows, you know how it is..so I quit Safari altogheter. After that I kept doing google searches, and I noticed that when I clicked on link a specific site of an association that is legit, it redirected me to one of those shady pharmacy website. So that was weird.I reset safari, came here, then I got the anti flashback tool, my mac seemed cleared. I got clamxav. I checked www.dns-ok.us. It all seems fine.I don't install things on this machine, I had a new hardrive installed not long ago.Do I have the latest Java, do I need to update? this is the Java version i have -build 1.6.0_31-b04-415-10M3635

I downloaded this from the site and installed it. I cant find it as an app to run it.
Is it an app I need to run, or is it installed and runs in the background? If thats the case how do i find it in the activity monitor to make sure its running?
My snow leopard when I perform an install places the following files which do not perform any recognizable function.Â
/System/Library/Coreservices/apple80211agent.appÂ
the process apple80211agent.app when Forced to quit restarts itself. I have removed the process and was wondering if anyone else has this file?

Has anyone figured out how to remove the Malware warning from google? My website www.ianiswas.com has been affected by this, but only when using Safari. I have read a few posts, but they have not been super helpful. I called my host company, they see nothing wrong, I looked at the coding, of which I am not an expert, and found nothing wrong.

View 3 Replies View RelatedAn email from an old friend contained an innocuous-looking link that led to a Mal/Badsrc-M virus landing on the hard drive, in the Firefox Library. It is not removable. In Trash, it leaves a copy where it was removed. In emptying Trash, it replicates intensively so that Trash cannot be emptied until the file is returned to where it was found. Then, Time Machine stays in "Preparing" mode and does not back up the drive. Online information via Sophos declares this virus to affect only Windows. I beg to differ.Â

View 14 Replies View RelatedWhat is the best way to remove malware from my MacBook Air running Yosemite? I tried searching the forums but most of the answers I found said OS X is immune from them or did not apply at all. I was having problems with copy/paste not working correctly and other weird issues so I restarted my MacBook Air. Now when the computer starts, this ZipCloud window pops up. The last thing I installed was Dragon Dictation. Could that be the problem? Anyway, I just want to know how to get rid of this ZipCloud popup and anything else that got installed that I don't know about and don't want.Â

I don't know why my MacBook Pro is working so slowly. I wondered if I had somehow gotten MacDefender downloaded and realised it was malware. I couldn't find it in the Applications but I did find mdworker. I don't know what that is. Could it be related to MacDefender?

I am running the latest version of Snow Leopard on a 2006/7 MacBook Pro. After teaching myself how to use a mac, and how to maintain it, I wish to God I could go back and do full, clean installs of each OS upgrade...alas, hindsight is always 20/20. But thats for another time. My immediate issue is disk space: Using Space Gremlin & browsing my HD I realized I have 3 massive iwork libraries/files/folders. iwork '06, '08, '09. Im certain I dont require all 3 considering I only use most current version (however the previous two take up gigabytes of space). Is there a safe way to delete them? Will the papers written, work saved from '06-on still be able to be opened using the most current version? If so, I wonder why Apple doesnt just delete the old version each time you upgrade?
I have also deleted all podcasts and photos after moving them to an external, yet Im certain that theres gotta be a way to 1) combine my itunes libraries from my two user accounts (I used the same login on both), but have had issues combining songs on my most used account so I can delete the other library for space. After accomplishing that feat I would then like to learn a method to run my itunes and iphoto libraries from my external HD; if so, could someone please help me learn how to do so seamlessly?

I assume an upgrade to SL will not remove any applications i currently run, unless I do a so called "clean install", but I just wanted to be sure: What will get removed when I upgrade?
My applications that are not 64-bit compliant? Will they still work? Will my adobe software still work, or does it need an update? Does any of my applications need an update? I have some custom icons (through Candybary), will they be removed? Will all my personal preferences reset?
Basically, what will an upgrade to Snow Leopard touch and change on my system?
ATM i got Leopard installed, by the way.
I have a text string on a sticky note that is formatted as a web link.Â
How can I remove the web link so the string becomes ordinary text?Â
