Jun 25, 2012my macbook pro wont connect to the printer properly. sometimes it connects and it prints for a few days but most of the time it wont work. it says that it is connected but when i try to print it says printer offline. how do i connect it to the prtiner permanently?

Apr 21, 2012I am having a problem with my Canon Pixma 5200. For some reason it has stopped recognising text. It will print out the test print ok. I can print pictures but no text. I have used different applications, Pages, Word and pdf and although it sounds as though it is printing I end up with a blank sheet. I have a letterhead with my email address on it and having typed a long letter only the email address came out (this was in the same font as the letter but a smaller size).

May 16, 2010I can't print anymore on my Canon i850 printer. It worked flawless previously. Now it keeps saying 'printer is offline'. The printer is connected through USB. I connected the printer to my old PC. Initially there it also says 'printer is offline' but after a few seconds the printer starts working. So the printer works on my PC, but not on my Apple. So why won't it work on my iMac anymore? I have a feeling it could have something to do with recent software-updates I installed, but I'm not sure.

Just bought a 17" macbook pro & am trying to get my HP C6280 to work on the mac. The printer is connected to our wireless router. The mac sees the printer, but says it is offline. I tried (after googling online) connecting it thru the usb to the macbook & updating the drivers, then I could "open print que" but not sure what I was supposed to do there. It will work if it is connected thru the usb, but not just wirelessly.I thought maybe of "uninstalling" it & starting over, but I do not how to uninstall it.

I have some mobile contacts, however if they are offline and I want to send them an offline message when I click on their name it starts sending them a mobile message. I want to send them an offline message, I was wondering how to just send them an offline message, when I right click it just shows, "send mobile message" or "initiate group convo". I want to do this because I was trying to message someone the other day and I Was talking away thinking it was an offline message and they messaged and said I was im'ing to their phone.
Anyone know how to just send an offline message?

Dec 27, 2010I'm new to Mac OS X, but have been working with Linux for almost 9 yrs now. I have set up a Linux box with CUPS 1.3.9. I can print from the server, and from other Linux stations to that remote server. However, I can't print from a client MacBook.
I set up CUPS on the client Mac via http://localhost:631 and created a printer associated with the remote queue / printer on Linux (the URL I use on OS X is http://mylinuxserver:631/printers/hpprinter and the driver is RAW).
I have no problems sending a test page from the CUPS web interface on Mac OS X to the Linux server -- the test page gets printed OK. However, I can't see the printer I just defined from other Mac OS X apps, and neither can I see it from the Add Printer Dialog on System Preferences (it's empty).
I tried creating the printer at the Add Printer dialog, but it would neither let me specify an HTTP URL (as far as I know, I had to use the IP icon on the toolbar) nor specify "RAW". So I tried creating a "dummy" printer in the Add Printer dialog, with a basic config, and then changing it from the CUPS web GUI. This didn't work either, since when I went back to the Add Printer dialog, the printer was gone.

I've downloaded the driver for HP LaserJet m1319f MFP and the printer worked fine when I connect it directly to my MacBook (using USB connection).The problem is that printer is supposed to be connected to our office network users through a TP-Link Print Server (TL-PS110U). I've tried to use AppleTalk to connect to that print server but my MacBook only recognized that HP printer as a HP Fax machine and I can't print anything.

Apr 1, 2012I was having problems printing from my Canon LBP6000. Print jobs remained held in the queue. I uninstalled and reinstalled the Mac CAPT Ve r340 driver from Canon's website, no improvement. The printer works fine with my Windows laptop. I found an option to remove all printers from the Print preferences section. I can't remember how I did this, but all printers were removed. I reinstalled the above driver, but now in the 'print & scan' - 'add printer' section, I have no printer options. And no idea how to get printer options.

Nov 18, 2009I have a Canon MX310 hooked up via a USB hub (shared with a HD) to an gigabit AEBS. Everything works fine under Leopard but no Windows boxes (either bootcamp or otherwise) can see the printer as being online. I have the latest Bonjour and even tried manually installing the printer. I checked the port/IP and everything is as it should be. Airport Utility says that printer is being shared over Bonjour and the Bonjour Print Wizard has no problem finding the printer for me to set up but the printer appears offline and won't print. I have rebooted the AEBS. All boxes are running Windows 7.

OS X V10.5 Leopard :: Mail Goes Offline At Home?
Jun 11, 2012Mail has worked flawlessly for four years. Over the past several days, mail has continually gone off line when I am connected at home. My network is working fine (I am online and can receive and send info from skype/webpages, etc.) and when I connect through webmail I can send and receive messages. I have four mail accounts configured through the Mail, each is imap configured to a separate Gmail account. Each account shows the ! error which reads "The server error encountered was: The connection to the server imap.gmail.com on port 993 timed out." I can take my laptop to any other network and all the accounts go online and are completely fine for the entire session. Then when I return home they go offline again. I have tried to eliminate my wireless network from the equation by direct connecting to the cable modem, but the issue remains.
