I keep reading about this new ability to do "Genius Mixes".
On my iPhone I click the Genius icon (which is too large IMHO) and it makes a playlist. Are Genius Mixes any different?
I cannot enable Genius mixes. I tried updating genius, I tried turning it on and off.
View 4 Replies View RelatedHow do I delete genius mixes automatically created by iTunes on my iPad 2? I have never enabled Genius and do not want to use it. The Genius mixes do not appear in the iTunes sidebar; rather, they appear only on my iPad above the playlists I have created myself.

I want to keep the order of one of my playlists so it cannot be altered if i click the wrong button...in order of the plays/songs.
I heard "Copy to Play Order? works but doesn't seem to fix the playlist not to move. I just want it to be secure in the order. Also is there a way to make Itunes a mix of my own, like the Genius Mixes? Or a way to save the playlist order? So if something happen i could get it back?
I've noticed that finder, automatically saves unnecessary spam images and mixes them in with my important images, is there someway of either adding a spam label, to them, so they end up in another folder, or completely stopping the saving process entirely?
View 7 Replies View RelatedYesterday I updated my iMac's software using the Software Update and ever since then a message appears on the desktop that says...
"Searching for movie file "filename"...
It gives me the option to press "Stop" but I cannot stop it. Shortly after this message a second message appears that says...
"The movie file "filename" cannot be found. Without this file, the movie cannot be played properly."
It gives me the option to click "Cancel" or "Search" but I cannot click on it at all.
I searched the problem online, and it says that it has something to do with iTunes, but the file isn't even in iTunes.
I am going to the software update and when it loads the app store does not show up. I've tried looking at the different updates for over 6 months and still havn't found the mac app store.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy HDD had been clicking at me for awhile on my rev a macbook air but I never bothered to take it in. Recently disk utility reported my drive as failing, so I decided to make an appointment with a genius. I've used my MBA air pretty heavily, including international travel quite a bit so it has some wear and tear.
I get there and he takes it to the back, comes back and says because of of a dent on the back of the casing (knocked it against a wall on accident), the fact the button on my touchpad was clicking and I had a screw missing in the bottom of my air that they could replace to dive but I would not like the price. It would be $900.00 and that's because they had to get the air in it's original condition appearance wise before they could send it to apple for repair
The fan in my Alu Macbook has given up the ghost. Regardless of temp it never switches on, so I need to get it replaced. There's an Apple Store opening up in the town I work this week, so I was wondering if this is the sort of fault they can fix while I wait?

Or can admin accounts access all the info on the computer? I've heard horror stories here of peoples' photos being looked at, FB profiles accessed, etc.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have Genius playlists on my ipad2 that I do not want. I would like to get rid of all Genius suggestions and have viewed many suggestions; one being to go to the store tab and click turn off genius. This option is not available it only gives the option 'Update Genius'. I recently joined itunes Match and this seems to automatically think that you want to have Genius

I have a three-four year old iBook which runs fine (I mainly use my iBook for email, Internet, and Microsoft Office) but I'm thinking of upgrading my OS and am wondering what would be the best OS to upgrade to. In case you're wondering, I'm considering the upgrade because there are a couple of applications I would like to demo (and maybe buy) that require a minimum OS of 10.4.

So both of my hinges died and no applecare. So I wanted to see if anyone came up with a DIY solution or know anything about hinges and is it possible to make some little one and maybe for other air users.
There is no way I am paying for a new air or repairing it. Im almost close to getting my Mac Pro.
The only thing on the hinge is Patent number: RE37712

I've got a 2006 mac mini. I've just moved house and am trying to get it to see the local network. My ancient ibook can see the network but my mac mini can't. The network doesn't come up at all whereas I can see 5-6 with the ibook. Does the 802.11a/b/g have something to do with it? I'm really stuck

So, a couple weeks ago, I was biting my nails with the PB on my lap (yeah, I know...), and one fell underneath the Enter key on the right side. Now, I'm very OCD about all things relating to the PB, which is why that kinda pissed me off. I couldn't stop thinking about it, so I went and bought some compressed air.
This was my first time using compressed air, and it didn't really help with the fingernail (if anything, it pushed it farther down and closer to the mini fan vents right by the keys). It did, however, bring a LOT of other crap up to the surface, and now I'm determined to get this sucker cleaned.
Problem: My Mac goes in to have a part replaced at the Genius Bar tomorrow and I have sensitive files on my computer for work that I can't allow anyone to look at. The tricky part is, Apple needs a log-in account on my Mac with Administrator access so they can run diagnostics. Problem is, even if I restrict the account I created called "Apple" to not be able to open certain files, since the log-in account "Apple" is an administrator account, all they have to do is click "Get Info" on the folder, click the padlock, and change the settings I put in place.
Is there any way to restrict access of another administrator account on my Mac? If so, how do you do it? I want to be able to essentially allow the administrator account "Apple" no access to my user files in my home folder.
