I'm connected to an Airport Extreme. iTunes and Safari can't connect to the internet, but Firefox can.
Also, Firefox can connect to local network stuff (e.g. AirSharing iPhone app), but I can't through Safari or Finder's "Connect to server..."
I am using windows 7 and I'm having trouble getting access to the internet using Safari and getting to the iTune store through iTunes. What pops up is an error code 306. I allowed access through my firewall on my computer and still nothing. Could it be its not getting through my wireless routers firewall?

I spent a year in Turkey as an exchange student, and of course I brought my macbook with me. In Turkey they are kind of uptight about which websites you're allowed to visit.
Youtube, last.fm and myspace are all blocked for (ridiculous) political reasons. Not really a problem, I could acces them via sites like vtunnel etc.
Now I'm back at home since several weeks, but still I'm not able to visit these sites and I get the same government-warning in Turkish. Anyone knows how to convince my macbook that I'm back in the free world?
I'm visiting my mom and trying to access the internet via one of her neighbors. He's has ok'd this and gave me his password. In the past, this has worked. But now, my daughter can access internet on her mac, but I cannot. I have both mac right here side by side. One has access, one does not.
Restored my HD this AM from a TM backup and am experiencing a lot of problems which include (1) Safari and iPhoto crash upon launch, (2) Mail launches but crashes when I attempt to access an email, (3) I have several "offline images" in my Aperture Library and any attempt to access metadata results in a crash.

When i was using xp, my macbook (running leopard) picked up my shared folders on my home network just fine, and several other wireless networks... now despite having the shared folders in vista set up and the network configured... leopard is showing nothing....its as if there's no network there.
the internet runs fine (on the network) but it won't access my shared files.. so there are no network problems, its a software issue either with vista or leopard... what am i doing wrong?

Every time i turn on itunes it asks for my internet username and password. If I cancel the request it pops up again after a few seconds and will continue to pop up, even if I put my name and password in.

Just recently I have not been about to surf the internet using Safari when I'm in a wireless area.
It just says Safari cannot find the server. However if I use Firefox it is just fine.
Before I didn't seem to have any problems. Just started yesterday. At home it startd.
Then been using wireless at the airport and now hotel. Can't use Safari.
Recently completed the Maverick operating system update. Still getting used to new additions, however I did notice I'm unable to access the Safari preferences section.
I know normally, you would follow the drop down menu and click into the safari preferences. Unfortunately now the words in the drop down menu are a lighter grey and unable to click into he section.

I'm having problems accessing my music in iTunes. I've been into preferences and pointed to the folder where the music is stored, (it's stored on a separate hard drive) but without success. I've copied the songs back to the original folder, but that doesn't work. Been on other forums and on the net but no progress.

The problem is, when ever I go to my homepage which is google it shows the webpage but then if I went to search for something it shows " safari can't open the page" and I went back to my homepage it won't work again! showing safari can;t open the page.

Skype is the app that keeps crashing the most, Safari and Firefox crash from time to time as well... and Mail.app crashes sometimes when Skype and Safari crash...
I already perform a fresh installation of the OS and no luck. I also kept on doing "repair disk permissions" with Disk Utility but also no luck...
The last time I performed a Tech Deluxe check and all test passed...
I think the problem can be either disk issues or faulty memory... in the worst of the worst motherboard .
Up till 9 months ago I was using a PC where I stored my iTunes library on my external drive to save space. Since getting a MAC I have been able to direct my library storage to the external drive. I can play the tunes individually but cannot access them.

The error reads: "Software Update can't connect to the update server. Make sure you're connected to the Internet, then try again. Software Update can't check for updates because of a network problem."
Perhaps at the same time (I hadn't paid too much attention at first) I found that I was unable to connect to the iTunes Store. This error message read: "iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store. The network connection was refused. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, then try again." A google search shows that the second error message is common among PC users who think apple is conspiring to keep them out of the iTunes store with iTunes v7.1.1. I don't know about network settings but I don't make a point of ever fiddling with them. I assume both of these problems are symptoms of the same network mess-up. Can anyone steer me clear?
I am unable to access the iTunes Store on my Macbook. I open iTunes and try to go to the iTunes Store. All that is there is a blank screen. When I try to search for something, it stays on the blank screen. I have completely updated the iTunes software and am still experiencing the same issues.

There appears to be a problem with my NAT? I am not sure of the problem exactly, as I never had it with the less complicated modem/router. Essentially it slows down the network considerably meaning that I can not use airtunes as the music keeps stopping and starting and nor can I connect to the internet with the xbox. Also the general speed of the network is pretty rubbish.

This is a weird one. For some strange reason, iTunes is unable to connect to the internet on both my Vista PC (I know, I know) AND my Mac AND MY iPod Touch! All my other internet-enabled applications on all my machines (PC, Mac) can connect just fine.
This is too weird. I'm wondering if my school is blocking iTunes, but seriously, that's the LAST thing they should be doing. iTunes is, you know, legit and legal.

I just recently installed Windows 7 on my macbook pro. Everything seemed to work well, especially after I installed boot camp for windows and its drivers.
However I can't seem to connect to the internet. My router is detected but when I select to connect to it I get no internet access.
currently I connect to the internet by doing this: Go to System Preferences / Network. Then I select my internet provider name on the left pane and finally click on the Connect button. That's all. This internet profile has a PPoE service name, an account name and a password. My internet connection uses a cable DLink router (it's not wireless).
Question:
1) Does the password I mentioned above mean that my neighbors can't access my internet, or are they able to do that and, in this case, I need to set another password somewhere else?
2) If I need another password, how and where do I set it,

I'm sure this is a very basic question, but having just made the Mac switch a week ago...I am lost. when I did a forum search, I found out how to access keychains, but I'm not sure if I found something particular to my question- please forgive me if I overlooked something.
I was downloading microsoft software last night and all of a sudden I began getting these little pop-ups that say "A keychain cannot be found for safari" with the option to cancel or reset to default.
how can I fix this so it doesn't happen?
I'm running OSX 10.5.8 on a Macbook Pro, and today I've been unable to connect to the internet via ethernet or wi-fi, unless I'm in safe mode. Then everything seems to work as it should, which makes me believe that this is a software issue rather than a hardware problem. I've tried making a new account with administrator priveleges, but that doesn't solve my issue. Does anyone have any advice on how I can connect to the internet under my normal user account, rather than in safe mode? I should note that I won't be able to get my hands on my repair CD or perform a clean install of OSX because that stuff is at home, and I'm in college. Also, I'm at a university and don't have a router. I just use the campus-wide wi-fi. Finally, my roommate has no problem accessing the internet in our room via ethernet or wi-fi, but I do. I can access Internet Explorer, but all web pages are incomplete and jumbled; nor am I able to download anything, including trying to download Safari. My iTunes will not open either, and I cannot view any type of video, using Adobe Flash player. I never used to have any of these issues before. The current Internet setup is At&t Broadband. I am wondering if you might be able to suggest what the problem is, and how to remedy it.

Have a iMac, intel based. Recently downloaded latest version of SpringCleaner. Used it to clean up unused disk space. Now Internet is connected. Can even check email with Mail, but no pictures in the emails. Safari just keeps loading with no results. Can't access internet with anything. Ran disk repair. Even turned off firewall. Not my router, my Macbook is working fine.
