OS X :: IChat Lost The Connection To The AIM Account
For some reason, whenever I start up iChat it automatically disconnects me and when I try to reconnect it says "iChat lost the connection to the AIM account "". The server connection was unexpectedly lost."

IChat AV 3 :: Looses Connection To AIM Account?
I recently upgraded to OS 10.6.2 and now am unable to use iChat. When using OX 10.5.8 with exactly the same wireless access I had no problems or issues. After starting up iChat and the buddy list appears with "connecting", I get the message "iChat lost the connection to the AIM account XXXXX. The server connection was unexpectedly lost". The Utility Console Log for iChatConnectionErrors show no error log, I do not have the OS Firewall turned on, I am using the same Airport Extreme base station that I've used for the past two years with no connection problems, the AOL server (login.oscar.aol.com) has not changed nor has the port (5190). Connection Doctor says the "Router Type is Symmetric and that this network contains one or more devices that are not fully compatible with audi and video chatting." (The only device attached to the network is my laptop.)My AIM account is valid as I've gone to the AOL website and logged in using my AOL screen name and password without any problem.Skype works perfectly for both audio and video chats. OS X V10.7 Lion :: Ichat Lost The Connection To The Mac Account?
I don't know if this is due to the MobileMe services being turned off, but I can't get logged into iChat. I haven't tried it for a few days before today though. It keeps my status off line and when I click on the symbol to the left of the status, the error is, "iChat lost the connection to the Mac.com account [URL]. A network error occurred." I tried my mac.me account, too - still no go. I am using 10.7.4 (Lion) on a Mid 2010 Mac Pro. Nothing has changed (software or hardware) since I used iChat last other than the Digital Camera Raw Compatibility Update 3.14 back on the 28th. Looking up the error in these forums (and other forums on the Internet), I see a lot for AIM, but they are from months prior and are not applicable. I did try restarting iChat, restarting the computer, and restarting my modem and router (although Internet access was working fine, just not iChat). I checked all the settings in iChat preferences and they look good - Server: api.oscar.aol.com, Port: 443 w/SSL. Info: Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.4), 6-Core, 27-inch LED Cinema Display

IChat AV 3 :: Cannot Login To AIM Account
Everything else on my computer is working fine except Ichat- it worked fine when I was logged in via a wireless network however I am now home for the summer and my router does not work for mac computers. It does work however if I plug it in directly with a cord to the router. When I open ichat it tries to log into my aim account multiple times. However it comes up with an error that I have tried to log in too many times. I have already tried changing the port to 443 like other topics had suggested but that was unsuccessful. I just cancelled my Mobile Me account since I wasn't using much of anything it offered so it wasn't worth $100. Applications :: Bonjour List In IChat - Cannot Set AIM Account
I've had a Mac (OS X 10.5.6) for about a year. I "set up" my iChat months ago, and don't remember what I did, but when I open it, a window called "Bonjour List" comes up with my name and picture with a little green video camera beside it. When I click the 'Buddies' drop-down menu, every option is grayed out.. as are almost all of the options on the other drop-down menus. Under the 'iChat' menu, beside Accounts it only says Bonjour. I don't know what Bonjour is, and don't want to use it on iChat. I'd like to set it up with my AIM account but have no idea how to do so. Is there a way to reset iChat so that it asks me again what account I'd like to use and I can choose AIM? Or any other simple solution? Also.. I just took a screen capture to post here, and have been trying to Draw A Line on it to cover my name for 15 minutes.

IChat AV 3 :: Get Disconnected From Agent Error Message When Attempt To Log On To Aim Account
I get the Disconnected from iChat Agent error message whenever I attempt to log on to my aim account. My iChat was working perfectly fine, up until I decided to add my aim account to another iChat on a different computer. (aka, my computer at work) When I added it to the second mac, I started getting that error message and now I cant log on to iChat with my aim account at all. I know it's a problem with my account, I've been on the phone with apple and we've tried many things. We tried deleting the plists, reinstalling, different port numbers and options, and none of it has worked. I tried logging in with a dummy account that I made on AIM and that worked fine. My .mac account also logs in on iChat. So, since this seems to be an account problem, has any one else had this problem or have any insight? I can log on to my account on aim express, meebo, and the aim for mac client, just not iChat. Information: Macbook Pro Mac OS X (10.5.3)

IChat AV 3 :: 5.0 Will Not Video Chat With AIM For PC
I am using iChat 5.0 on my 2ghz Intel Core 2 Duo powered MacBook, running OS X 10.6.1 Snow Leopard (i.e. Leopard reincarnated). While trying to video chat from my AIM account within iChat, with a person running AIM 7 for Windows (on XP) who has a built-in web cam, iChat fails to start a session. I'll send the video chat request to the AIM user on their PC, and they accept, but I will receive a notification within iChat that they declined. Conversely, when they send me a video request from AIM to me, iChat will prompt me to accept -- which I do -- and then all looks good, iChat tries to connect, and then I get an Communication Error message! Every time, I send the data to Apple but of course that's no help. Information: MacBook 2.0ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, 80 GB RAM Mac OS X (10.6.1) iPhone 3G 8GB

IChat AV 3 :: Using Video Chat Between AIM?
I have an ichat account that I have successfully communicated with others who also have an ichat account. However, I have been having problems communicating with buddies that have AIM accounts. I can successfully communicate across ichat/AIM with both instant messenger and audio. However, when I attempt to use the video chat between my ichat and others AIM accounts I get communication errors to say that I have not received a response from the other person even though I know that have accepted. Working between macs and other ichat accounts is so simple and intuitive why is it so difficult when working outside the mac environment and involving other video messenger providers like AOL? IChat AV 3 :: AIM Buddies Not Being Seen Online
Is there any chance my aim buddies are being seen offline all the time? its just.. I added people to my buddies and we talked once, but I haven't seen them again anymore, I can send offline messages to some, it says they'll read them when they go online, but some other contacts I can't send them offline messages. Now I ran tests with an aim account I own, adding it as a buddy on my ichat @mac.com account, and when I went online on the aim account it did show on my ichat account, and also sent some offlines messages and I did receive them, but its me in the same computer not like faraway as everyone else, idk if that matters. Now, do I have a technical problem? Or have my friends just not got back online, or they blocked me or what? Information: MacBook Pro Mac OS X (10.5.8)
