Why can't I publish iWeb (v3.0.4) anymore? Seems to be with the closure of mobileme but I thought that this was still OK/transfered to iCloud?

I used to publish my iweb blog via mobileme. Just now I have changed to publish it via a ftp server and all contents of my iweb blog moved across to the new website address except blog comments! I really want to move my comments, but cannot work out how!!

I created a website for a family friend a few years ago using iWeb.Today I have received an anxious email from them saying the site is down.It is obviously to do with the move from .me to iCloud!I don't have the old computer which the site was made on. And don't have any files of the site on my computer. Where and how can I access the website files since the move from .me to iCloud as a matter of urgency? I'm not seeing any option in iCloud to view or see any files at all.Â

With MobileMe going away, lost will be my Gallery, iWeb Site and iDisk. These were great features, they made it very easy to use. I've never had an outside web publishing service before and not looking forward to finding one. It seems to me that the iCloud features and very basic in comparisson and a real step backward.

I own my own my own domain name in which I bought through Genesis Domains. I have my own personal iWeb page published using MobileMe. Apple's instructions on transferring my page does not help me. I'm pretty oblivious when it comes to knowing what hosting and a server is. And until I one day upgrade to a machine with Lion, I'm stuck with MobileMe, or what is left of it. I have links to my MobileMe galleries through my iWeb pages. I know the galleries are going away too. Is there a way people can still look at my photo albums when they are at my website?

I am a Mac user but do not know the technical or programming aspects of usage. A while ago I started with a new internet provider who attempted to give me a workaround to using bittorrenting without throttling (their service was being throttled by the parent line owner). The workaround involved putting some text into a Terminal window. I felt uncomfortable with this because i had heard you can really mess up your mac with Terminal if you dont know what your doing, but the guy i was talking to assured me this action he was leading me in was simple and wouldnt affect anything else. I did not finish the process he started me with (for fear of something going wrong), but I did enter enough text to wonder if its affecting my computer in some way. There are no signs of anything, but I'd rather make it as if I had never messed around with that to begin with, just incase. Its been about a month since this occured. I remember just closing the Terminal program and I havent touched it since. Can you please tell me what I can do to safely remove the entry?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm working on a series of short sports videos that will be playing on jumbotrons, and have been trying to create a Title template in motion, with intent to publish it to use it Final Cut Pro X. I started creating the first title, and then after Saving it and publishing it, I opened FCPX to add the title. The title tile under 'Titles' would appear in the correct category, and would show the tile, until I moved the scrubber over it. Upon scrubbing the new title, or placing it in the timeline and scrubbing it, it would show a RED T error. I was using a newly installed font, so I decided to try a brand new basic template with a basic font, and the same thing would happen. Â
FCPX and Motion 5 are both updated. I've done this before, but it was a couple of years ago.

The new version won't remove auto-fill user id and password for any entry. And it's caused problems logging into some Websites by entering a bogus one the Website can't recognize. It's a, "Huh?" for this update.

How can I remove the 'site_2' from the URL?
View 7 Replies View RelatedWriting this on behalf of my dad who is not that technical, he is the one having this problem. First he noticed that mail in his the mail.app was not working. He then tried logging into iCloud on the web but could not. He has one Apple ID which won't allow you to login anywhere, not iCloud, nor even this Apple Support Page.The Apple ID and password are definately correct and have never been changed. We have tried going to [url] to reset the password. After entering the Apple ID and hitting next, then selecting the option to answer security questions, first question, date of birth, comes back and says date of birth does not match records. So went back and selected email authentication. It then says that an email has been sent. The problem here is that he cannot access his email to receive the email notification. Mail is not working because of the problem with the account. Also cannot log into iCloud either to receive the email. I don't really want to create a new Apple ID, as this will cause a lot of hassle.Â

View 1 Replies View RelatediDisk no longer appears on finder. Need to back it up before end of the month. Cant seem to do it from the web application where I can still see idisk. I'd like to select all (including the folder structure) and drop it /copy it to a new location locally on a disk I can see on my imac finder for instance. iDisk we application lets me select all, I just cant drop it anywhere. iDisk had gotten turned off in the sidebar and could be turned on using finder > preferences > sidebar and clicking idisk. When the transfer was made finder to finder all the files started coping over.

In the past, if I didn't move forward when Apple moved forward, all that happened was that I did not have access to new features.This time, with the demise of MobileMe and the introduction of iCloud, if I don't move forward I lose features, but even worse, even if I do move forward, I still lose features. In particular, the lack of syncronization under iCloud of Mail's Rules, Accounts, and Smart Mailboxes means that on our several machines I have to manually do updates multiple times, which of course leads to multiple mistakes. In my view, what Apple has done has the look and feel of customer abuse, something usually attributed to another large tech company. I can't avoid losing functionality, whether or not I move forward with Apple.Â

Mail 4.5 started to get wonky a couple of days ago- taking forever to load. All of the the imap server began rejecting my password which had not changed for months. So I retyped it. Nothing. Quite mail and restarted mail. Nothing. Deleted the account, restarted & reloaded. Nothing. Restarted the machine. Launched Mail, nothing. Check for updates, nothing. Can login directly to iCloud and works fine on my iOS devices but nothing on good ole' mail. Â
