When I go into my Mobile Me, and go under the Sync tab there is something that says Notes. Where do I find this, and how can I use it. Is it referencing Stickies?

I went in to iCloud and it seems to insist that I create a new email account (....@icloud.com)...why do I need to do that?I already have iCloud synching of addresses on my address book without this?
I've looked at the Apple support site and all it says is "You can sync with the Notes app using IMAP or iCloud. Syncing Notes using iTunes is no longer supported on OS X v10.8 and later."...

I have an iPhone 5, and iMac (os 10.9.3), and iCloud. My Notes app will not sync to or from my mac. Other applications (mail, messages, calendar, etc) sync through my iCloud with no problem.
In system prefrences> iCloud, the notes box is checked.
notes on my iPhone sync to iCloud, and notes on iCloud sync to my phone.
notes DID sync on my mac until about 12/2013.
What do i need to do to get notes working with iCloud on my mac?
Does anyone know how I can get rid of the Mobile Me sync icon that recently made an appearance on my menu bar and now refuses to leave? I don't even use Mobile Me so I have no idea how the icon got there and I can't find any way to disable it.

My Notes from my phone have everything in it mostly all info like all user names and basically everything i need for work! How can i get my recent Notes back on my phone?

I have setup my own mobile phone to be sync-ed with mac osx sync.
So all contacts of my mobile are stored to address book of osx, and vice versa.
I want to do it for another mobile phone.
But I do not want to have the contacts of the second phone to be synchronized with the same address book of osx, that I use for my primary mobile phone.
i had used the 60 day trial of mobile me to try it out, but decided i would not use it enough for it to be worth the price. However, i have noticed the little sync icon in the upper bar is still there, and i can not figure out how to remove it. Any ideas?

When setting up an iphone to synch with the lion server, why does it only present mail and notes for synch? Is this just how it works, you have to setup the different services seperately for mail, contacts, and calendar? I can't believe that when an iphone has builtin support for exchange.
2. I followed [url] to get ical working for AD users. I also followed http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5276 to get push notifications in ical and addressbook working for AD users. It was initially working after following this doc, however now it's not. Even after restarting just get invalid username or password.The log file shows something about an OD crash which seems to coincide with an attempt to login to iCal using AD credentials.
3. I cannot edit user's shortnames via WGM. Even so, it wouldn't accomplish what i need. So i'm fine with just manually creating aliases. I tried to edit the postfix aliases file for a test alias group: user1, user2 Doesn't work even after restarting mail it says it's unknown user. Mailman doesn't work the way i expected. I need to create distrobution groups, not a maillist.

So, i have been using entourage for a couple of years and had no problems. I now want to sync my mail and calendars with my new phone (Nokia N97 mini). To do this I believe I have to use Isync, so I have set the sync services preferences in entourage to 'sync events and tasks with ical and .Mac'.
I have a few queries:
1. when I do this my calendar in ical does not represent my calendar in entourage - there are additional events in the ical calendar (it doesnt recognise that these have been deleted from entourage). Ical is also set to sync with mobile me and that has the same additional events as ical.
2. in ical it says I have 2 calendars 'entourage' and 'entourage 2' however 'entourage' doesnt have any events on it. So I deleted it but it just keeps coming back
it is possible to get my work email account (pop) to sync with mobile me as well as my mobile me account?

i am not interested in MS WORD, not out of any ideological dislike of gates or ms word, et cet. (although i do not like word), but i am tired of paying steep prices for it and upgrades and wish a simpler program for someone who writes, period. i do not need 90% of word's features (although it, and openoffice alternative, does have the "insert note" on reviewing toolbar i like - see below)
if anyone is familiar with what is called "critical apparatus", it would allow me to add what are essentially footnotes in a visible (Jer's Novel Writer) or invisible (WORD and OpenOffice) notes to the text. (btw: here is what i mean: [URL] and click on screenshot at bottom right of screen)
such a feature would be immensely helpful for some translation projects i am doing as well "to check" reminders within creative projects, from essays to novels.
i may be wrong but i don't think bookmarks are what i want and i prefer to avoid footnotes or endnotes (yes - i am selfish. i want it all) although a footnote is not so terrible a work-around.
i have looked at following options in respective apps:
postit/stickies type note - openoffice has a WORD type feature (like the critical apparatus popup window in url above) which is accessible but i would love to have a smaller simpler program to do this
marginal notes - i love Jer's Novel Writer for this but if you write a long note or lots of notes anchored to the same small stretch of text, these marginal notes become cumbersome and piled on top of each other in the margin, unless there is a way to do this i am doing wrong. (am open to suggestions how to use JNW better. i have not written to Jer - maybe i'll do this)
flags: supernotecard has flags but limits them to one per card where a card is funtionally synonomous with a paragraph. thus one can not annotate multiple words in same paragraph with individual markers
links: i am using DEVONthink more and more as a word processor with its multiple windows, database/search/concordance capabilities and extremely rewarding flexibility. i could use their links to separate windows but don't like this as much.similarly voodoopad does this well but same objection
separate windows: many programs facilitate a new window that could hold my notes. they are not anchored or easily tied to the text in question without altering the text, e.g., DEVONthink, Smultron, et cet.
i think i have looked at almost everything, i think, e.g., supernotecard, notemind, nova mind, tinderbox, notetaker (which i love), ulysses, avenir, z-writer, scrivener, smultron, textwrangler, subethaedit, mi, copywrite, bean, textmate (a great "project format" for composite documents like journal or book with chapters), mellel, mariner, JNW (which i also love), nisus, tex-edit plus, all the omnigroup apps, journler, storyist, writeroom, abiword, but may have missed something. programs like curio (which i like, along with omnigrapple pro) and mindburn are not really what i need either.
i guess if i knew enough i could write an applescript within some of these programs. but i am not very facile with scripting and do not want to take the time to become so. i do not think TeX et al. are the way to go and the same comment about time versus learning curve applies.
I just used Chax to combine my AIM and Facebook accounts in iChat, but I just realized how many of my friends use the stupid mobile feature for AIM, so they all show up in my buddy list when they really arent available. Is there anyway I can hide those mobile accounts in iChat?

This works fine for photos, iCal, contacts but I what I would like to do is to be able to back up and view my sms on my Mac. Does anybody know if there is anyway of achieving this (free if possible)? If not, can anybody recommend a phone (other than the obvious iPhone) that has this syncing capability with Macs? I am looking to update my phone soon anyway.

View 4 Replies View RelatedA year ago I tested Spanning Sync for syncing my iCal with Google calendar. It worked out very well and I subscribed for one year (25 USD). Now there is version 2 around the corner that will add contact sync support. I have tried the beta and that works very well too.
My subscription is to end soon and I am thinking about extending. That would be another 25 USD for a year or 65 USD for life long subscription. Meanwhile I encountered another product called Busy Sync. I does almost the same (except contact syncing). With a coupon a single license per computer is 20 USD aka 40 USD for both of my macs.
Is there a way to sync my Facebook Phonebook with my Address Book?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using Snow Leopard (10.6.2) and need to export all my Stickies notes. The only tip I have found is to go to File -> Print All Notes as PDF.
But there is no Print All Notes subMenu!
I also found in MacOSXHints an AppleScript. It didn't work.
Does anybody know of a way to export them?
I know that Preview which came with Mac OS/X allows users to read pdf files. I am reading lots of pdf documents and would like to make notes / underlines / highlight sentences.

My entire dashboard is literally filled with post-it notes. Or was. When I booted my computer, this morning, I discovered that about half of my notes were totally blank. Thinking a reboot might solve the problem and return to me my precious mini memoranda, I promptly restarted. Wrong move.
Having just booted up once more, I returned to my dashboard to find that only two of my yellow friends contained the precious knowledge they once possessed.
So I've recently migrated back to Mail after a long hiatus and set up my Gmail account with IMAP. I like Mail 3.0, but one bug could be a deal breaker for me:I don't like the notes feature and don't plan to use it. However, there are four mystery notes that keep reappearing in my Reminders. I don't remember creating them, and whenever I delete them they reappear about 5 minutes later. They are all blank and always have the same timestamp, too. Where are these notes coming from? Why won't they stay deleted? It's very frustrating.

I don't think I'm a dummy but my attitude has tended to be that the system software is something I have to move through to get to the graphics applications I mostly use. I want to use Notes. . . well, for making notes and for exactly what it says in the Help; keeping track of thoughts and ideas. Nothing fancy, I don't want to synch with anything; occasionally a note might be related to an e-mail message. That's all. So, I click the Note button at the top of the Mail window. . . nothing. I select New Note from the File menu. . . nothing. And I mean nothing; absolutely nothing. Even on my worst days I'm not so much of a dummy that I can't click a button or select a menu item.

I know there are apps that change handwriting to editible text, I don't want that. I just want to be able to write and be able to save my notes (in my handwriting). Other threads suggested the following paths such as " ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.Notes/Data/Library/Notes" but none of them seemed to work (the library folder is not to be found!) ...

I have been using the same iPhone 5s, iPad mini, and Retina MacBook Pro since at least October of last year (when the 5s came out) and have had no problems syncing notes until recently (not sure of the exact date, but at least a few weeks).
Mac is running 10.9.4
iPhone is on 7.1.1
not sure what the iPad is on, don't have it with me right now but it is syncing fine.
My problem is that my notes are not syncing to or from my Mac. They sync to and from the iPhone, iPad, and iCloud.com perfectly, but the Mac is not doing anything. I have deleted and signed back into my account on every device and the notes are sill not syncing. The iCloud account is also the only notes account on the computer. I use notes frequently and need them to sync between devices.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy notes get synced to an email address. So i click the notes icon in mail, not the email inbox they are associated with and i see every single not ever created. On top of that there are two instances of each note. So i deleted the ones i don't need anymore and closed my notebook, went on my way. come home. open mail. clicknotes, and they are all still there. two of each notes, includeing notes i've never written anything in. ones that i just clicked not was about to write something, and didn't save it. How do i get rid of this stuff?
